"Friendly Atmosphere and Welcoming Community at Freedom Village Assisted Living"

The people who work at Freedom Village are amazing. They really go out of their way to help you when you're moving in. As soon as you arrive, they start treating you well. They might bring you a delicious apple pie with all the stuff you need to enjoy it. And your neighbor might even bring you cookies! They give you a name tag with a green ribbon, and everyone greets you warmly when they see it. There's always a party happening, with drinks close by. It feels like a great place to be.

"Exceptional care and kindness at Freedom Village for many years"

My mother has lived at Freedom Village since 1999. She first stayed in a lovely condo, then moved to Assisted Living, and for the past 5 years, she has been in Skilled Care. Now at 96, she is legally blind, hard of hearing, and has advanced dementia. She mostly uses a wheelchair and is happy in her own world, often feeling like a teenager. She has received excellent care throughout her time there. The staff is very kind, and especially during tough times, the Program Department makes sure all the residents are safely entertained. Freedom Village truly deserves 5 stars.

"Care Facility Falls Short on Service and Support"

Another reviewer hit the nail on the head. Talk to a medical worker quietly for the real scoop. This place may look nice outside, but inside, it's a mess. They don't have enough staff. Meds can be expired, and you might not get them on time. My relative was left dirty because there aren't enough caregivers. If your loved one needs help or falls a lot, they might be in danger here. I've heard the management treats the staff badly. No wonder they're short-handed. Who would want to work in those conditions? Do your research. Ask the med staff lots of questions in private. Management might seem good, but behind closed doors, it's a different story. Considering what you're paying, the service isn't great. I have only good things to say about the med workers, but they're not getting help from management.

"Nightmarish Experience at "Inn's" Skilled Nursing Care Facility"

My mom lived a quiet life in independent living for many years. Things were okay, except for the food that dropped in quality after Brookdale took over. But then, she had a stroke and became paralyzed. Her last 6 years were spent at the "Inn" which offers skilled nursing care. The staffing was a big issue. The nurses and aides were spread thin, some of them badly needing additional training. My mom supposedly fell from a chair, even though she had paralysis. That fall broke her leg, and she passed away 90 days later. The injury was not properly looked after and got seriously infected. She needed strong painkillers to bear the pain. The aide who found her after the fall was protected by the other staff. Some of the staff who knew us hinted to me that there was more to her fall. Stay away from the skilled nursing care at this facility. Your loved one's well-being could be at stake.

"Brookdale Skilled Nursing Facility: Low Staffing, Irregular Responsibilities"

After many peaceful years of independent living with just a food quality issue after Brookdale took over, my mom had a stroke which led to paralysis, making her a resident at the "Inn" for skilled nursing for six years. The facility had a major issue with staffing as nurses and aides were overworked, with many needing additional training. Sadly, with her partial paralysis, my mom had a supposed fall from a chair that fractured her leg, and she passed away after 90 days. Her wound was not properly looked after and became necrotic. They had to give her strong pain medication just to keep her comfortable. The aide who supposedly "discovered" her fall was shielded by the staff, though some familiar faces subtly hinted at the truth while repeating official statements. I would strongly advise against the skilled nursing at this place. The life of your loved one might be at risk.
