"Needs Better Staff to Be Great"

If this place had enough good workers to look after my Dad and the other folks staying there, I bet it’d be awesome, and my Dad would’ve stayed. It’s really too bad. Right now, I can’t tell other people to send their family here.

"Awful Care Home Experience: Negligence and Miscommunication Rife"

My uncle had a terrible time at this care home. He stayed for only three weeks, but ended up going to the emergency room seven times. The staff didn't tell us about two injuries he got. He also had a medical device (a catheter), and they didn't keep it or him clean unless we reminded them to. They didn't even take out his waste bag until we asked. Communication was awful; the director and the head nurse didn't respond to us at all. I found myself cleaning his room, changing his beddings, and washing his clothes. We had to ask them to give him a bath after nine straight days without one. Considering their actions, I wouldn't even want to send a pet there. They had too few workers and the director had a terrible attitude. They gave false details about the services they offer. It felt like they only cared about filling rooms instead of caring for the residents.

"A Mixed Review of Assisted Living Facility"

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the facility looks really nice. They have two lovely outdoor courtyards, and housekeeping does a good job. Moving in is easy, and they even provide furniture if it's available. Meals are tasty and served on time, with tablecloths and linen napkins. However, there's one issue: the facility doesn't offer much medical care for seniors. The sales office sometimes exaggerates the staff's abilities. Some residents left within a few weeks because their advanced medical needs couldn't be met. Overall, I'd recommend the facility. We're happy with our father in memory care, but we do extra things like shaving him and requesting laundry services. The administration is improving communication and being held accountable by the state. The family council in memory care has made important changes.

"Satisfied but Room for Improvement"

I'm pretty happy with how they're looking after my mom. It's been tough with the cleaning crew always changing, and I've had to remind them to clean her place. The food's not great; they cook the meat and veggies too much. Laundry was fine before, but it's not as good now with the new way they're doing it.

"A Great Place with Caring Staff, but Needs Better Payment System"

We are happy we chose Legend of Lancaster for my Dad’s care. We only had a few months to see how things worked, so some of our concerns might have been because we were still getting to know the key staff. Overall, my sister, brother, and I would recommend Legend of Lancaster. Our Dad liked being there. They even let us have a couple of PSU tailgates in their theater, and we invited staff and residents. It’s a nice place with nice people, but like most places, they have some staffing shortages. Their online payment system is really bad.

"Friendly Staff, But Some Service and Billing Issues"

The workers here are super nice and always ready to help. But, they seem to have trouble keeping staff around. This makes it hard for them to keep things clean and get laundry done on time. Also, I've tried to talk to the people who handle the money about some charges I don't understand since September, but I haven't gotten any answers.

"Facility Ensures Cleanliness and Care, Responds Promptly to Concerns"

We were initially worried about our loved one staying clean and tidy. However, after we mentioned these worries to them, every time we call or visit, she is well taken care of. We are happy they are addressing our concerns.

"Lack of Healthcare Communication in Assisted Living Facility"

My family member doesn't get much healthcare here. The doctor supposedly visits every other week, but months went by assuming she was receiving care she needed, which was mismanaged. Doctor's recommendations and appointments have been delayed and mishandled. I was assured of follow-ups, but they never happened. I've emailed them multiple times with no response. I only hear about my loved one's health when I push for it. It seems like the medical staff isn't enough. We pay a lot for a basic apartment and activities, but healthcare is minimal.

"Assisted Living Facility Shows Improvement, Slow Progress, Room for Hope"

Don't trust everything the salesperson says. She promised a lot but disappeared when things didn't go as planned. At first, I felt like I was misled until after three months of many talks and Zoom meetings. Things have gotten better in the past month. They hired a new resident director who seems to be communicating and trying. It's progressing slowly, and I'm hopeful things will keep improving. My loved one is fine with the food and is adjusting overall. She likes the activities. The size of the facility is perfect for her, not too big or small. Progress is happening, and we'll see how it goes in the future.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"

This place is pretty new, all on one floor and bright. The apartments are a good size with nice, large bathrooms. The kitchenettes are set up nicely. They don't have enough staff, which affects some things. The staff is friendly; I like how quickly they learned my mom's name and always greet her nicely. They have activities, but some seem too simple for adults. Still, it's good they try to involve everyone. They offer housekeeping, which is well done, and the person who does it is very nice. The place is clean and always looks and feels fresh. I think others would like it too.

"Modern Assisted Living: Great Amenities, Plush Atmosphere"

My wife and I visited this place to check it out for her. The person who showed us around was super friendly. The building was impressive, all shiny and new. The best part was they had this cool courtyard and even a bowling alley! But, it felt a bit too fancy for us. I think it would suit other families though.

"Open House"

I visited this lovely new community during their open house. The staff was friendly, and they provide many amenities for residents. Booking a tour here is definitely worthwhile.

"A nice community, not ready for personal care start."

It's a fresh, shiny community. Met nice people. Liked it, but they begin with personal care, not ready.
