"Headline: "Neglect and Inadequate Care Concerns at Luther Crest Rehab""
This one specific doctor shouldn't be treating elderly patients When my husband was taken to Luther Crest Rehab Center following his brain hemorrhage, we experienced a mix of treatment. While many on the staff were caring, some didn't take their duties seriously, and the doctors stood out as the worst in this regard. We kept trying to get the doctor to examine my husband as his eating habits changed—he barely touched his food. He also had a painful throat, congestion, chills, and tremors, symptoms which became even worrisome when we noticed that he couldn't swallow his food properly. Still, the doctors wouldn't pay attention, and we found out that patients were only seen by doctors once a week, no matter their condition. Finally, when the said doctor came to see my husband—without casting a glance at him—she was uncaring, brutally telling us that we could send him to the hospital, have a feeding tube placed, but he would die anyway. We were shocked to learn this was how he had progressed in health, and this was the first time we met her face-to-face, despite me being there every day, all day. Until this point, my husband had been doing well and made progress with therapy after he got admitted. After waiting for more than two hours for this doctor to check on my husband, I called an ambulance myself. Unfortunately, the ambulance personnel couldn't get any information on his condition from Luther Crest staff—not from the nurses, aides, anyone. Where was the doctor? Why hadn't she left any details if she couldn't be there in person? They documented this in their log, "No information given from Luther Crest". A few days later, on a Wednesday, our family leader; husband, father, brother, uncle, and great grandfather, passed away due to pneumonia and kidney failure. We can't help but to question what could've happened if the doctor had acted sooner. He was doing reasonably well during therapy each day just a week ago. Please always keep a close eye on your elderly family member's health when in a facility. Ask questions and don't stop until you get answers. Be demanding, and don't hesitate to call for an ambulance if you're uncertain.

"Avoid This Facility: Low Staff and Poor Patient Treatment"
AVOID THIS PLACE! It's terrible! Not enough staff and they show total carelessness! Really regret not checking the reviews before putting my dad here for recovery! It's shocking how they treat the residents!

"Negligence and Poor Service at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad was moved here for recovery following a stroke. It took them a week to finally bathe him, and that was only after our family's complaints! What's worse, my dad had to sit in dirty diapers for hours. The staff here also procrastinate excessively before responding to calls. Both times I attempted the call button, it took them 30-40 minutes respond. It was quicker for me to leave the room and find assistance for my dad since the nurses or attendants seldom check on him unless they are asked. Communications with staff here is poor unless you're seriously frustrated; then they show interest. The final nail in the coffin was a call from their doctor, who confessed that in the week my dad had been there, his sugar hadn't been tested and no insulin had been given. I implore you to rethink if you're considering moving your loved one here for rehab. I'm getting my dad transferred today, and only because this was the earliest I could secure a transfer to another facility.

"Neglected in Rehab: My Father's Unfortunate Experience"
My father was moved to this place for recovery after his stroke. It was a week before he finally got a bath and only because we brought it up! We saw him sitting in wet diapers for hours. The staff take forever to come when the call button is pushed...two times I waited 30-40 minutes. I even had to walk out of his room to look for help. I never saw a single nurse or aide go into my dad's room unless they were asked. Communication here is really poor. What made us decide to move my dad was when their own doctor called to say that they didn't even test his sugar levels or give my dad his insulin for a whole week. If you're thinking of having your relative recover here, you might want to change your mind. We're moving my dad today (only because it's the earliest we could have him transferred). The only good thing I can say is their Social Services Director was helpful. She always called me back and always tried to assist. But, one person can't do everything!

"Awful Care at Rehab Facility"
My dad was moved here for rehabilitation after a stroke. He was unwashed for a full week until we complained about it! We also saw that he was left for long periods in dirty diapers. I ended up leaving the room to look for help. I never saw a helper or a nurse enter my dad's room unless we asked. Conversations with the staff are pretty bad, until you're completely fed up - then they all want to chat. What finally made us leave was a call from their doctor who said that they hadn't checked his sugar or given him insulin during his one week stay. If you're thinking about having rehab here or sending a loved one here, think again. My dad is being moved today (only because this was the fastest I could transfer him to another place).

"Avoid This Facility: Failed To Care For My Grandma Properly"
As a relative of a past resident, I've got a story about what happened to my grandma at this place that I can't even share because they might delete my review. I work in this field, so I know there are lots of great places where your loved ones will be properly cared for. Unfortunately, this place isn't one of them. Please don't repeat our mistake.

"Avoid This Place: It Fails at Proper Care for Elders"
I'm related to someone who used to live at this place. If I really told you how my grandma was treated here, they'd probably take down my review. I work in this field, and I can tell you, there are so many good options for taking care of your family. This spot is definitely not one of them. Please, learn from our mistake.

"Avoid This Facility: Personal Experience and Poor Care Warning"
I strongly suggest finding another place. As someone working in this field, I've had a bad personal encounter with this facility. There are many great places that will take good care of your family members and ensure their safety - this just isn't one of them. If you've seen the movie "Living and Dying in Assisted Living," you'll find similar, troubling tales about this facility. Please think twice before picking it for yourself or for someone you care about.

"Find Another Assisted Living Facility: A Genuine Recommendation"
I strongly advise you to find another place. I work in this field and unfortunately, my personal experience with this place was pretty bad. There are numerous excellent places that can ensure the safety and wellbeing of your loved ones - this place is not on that list. If you've seen the documentary "Living and Dying in Assisted Living", you'll find unnerving similarities in this facility that will question your decision to choose them for yourself or your family member.
