"Older but Nice Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
McCallum Assisted Living isn't the newest or fanciest place, but it's nice, and we're really happy with the staff. It's clean, even though the building itself is older. The staff are easy to reach, and we think it's a good deal for what we pay. We also like how close it is to us. We were impressed with how quickly everything happened when we chose this place. Overall, our loved one seems pretty happy here.

"Decent Care for Mental Health Needs"
They were the only place that helped [name removed] with their mental health. They responded well. I visited once, and it was okay.

"Great place with good food and lovely surroundings."
We thought McCallum Assisted Living was a great place for our loved one. The building is nice, with a beautiful tree line and a nice wrap-around porch. He always said the meals were very good. Based on our family's experience, we would suggest them to others.

"Boarding House Feel, Lacks Comfort, Dark, and No Activities"
This place is more like a boarding house. They don't have temperature adjustment or alert systems in the rooms. It's dull and sad. There aren't any fun activities either. They focus too much on 'being independent'.

"Disappointing Experience at McCallum Assisted Living Facility"
She was a great tour guide, very helpful. The grounds were nice, but the house needs updating. Inside is dark and gloomy. There was a strong urine smell. Staff didn't interact much with residents. Residents didn't seem happy or engaged. McCallum feels more like a recovery facility than a home.

"Dark, Unsecured Entrance and Bad Smell in Assisted Living Facility"
Right away, I noticed how dark the entrance was and that it wasn't locked or safe. Plus, it smelled bad. I think I walked through an open door to find a bright nurses area. However, the person who was supposed to give me a tour wasn't there that day. I decided not to set up a new time for a tour. If I could, I'd give them zero stars.

"Costly Facility with Limited Options Leaves Visitor Unimpressed"
I was surprised to find an assisted living facility in our neighborhood. I decided to check it out, but it left me feeling down. They don't take public funds, so the cost for a room is $3000, and most are shared. They have a special floor for those with mental health issues. I noticed that about 35% were war veterans, and I wondered if they might be dealing with post-traumatic stress. The visit didn't leave me with a good impression, so I decided it wasn't for me. The staff member who showed me around was kind, but I felt uneasy. I was disappointed by the limited room options. I had a chat with a fellow Jewish resident who mentioned a rabbi visits weekly.

"Basic living quarters lacking distinctive features."
The rooms resemble a regular bedroom and bathroom.
