Newhaven Court at Lindwood

"Great staff and food, but care needs close monitoring"
We were told during our first interview that my mom would be checked on every 2 hours, but that wasn't true. She was supposed to start on medication, which were just vitamins for her eyes. I gave the vitamins and prescription to the assistant to the wellness director, but she didn’t get the pills until my brother asked about them. They said they thought she could take them herself? The staff is very friendly and my mom loves it there. She loves the staff and they answer quickly when she calls them. She likes the food, though I haven't eaten there myself. I would recommend the facility to others, but I would tell families to keep a close eye on their loved one's care to make sure everything is going well and as planned. The move didn’t go as smoothly as expected, but that wasn’t the facility's fault. We didn't move in until 9 or 10 pm, and an employee was there to meet us as promised.

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living with Good Food and Activities"
My family member stayed at Newhaven Court at Lindwood, and it was a positive experience. The place was really clean. Of course, nobody's perfect, but the staff were nice and did a good job. The food was alright, and they had fun activities to do.

"New Haven Court: Staff Shortage, Poor Communication, and Uncleanliness"
I would strongly advise against letting a family member stay at New Haven Court, especially in the memory care section. The overall situation there was disappointing. They didn't have enough workers, they barely communicated, and it was super dirty.

"Decline in Care at Newhaven Assisted Living"
My mom started living at Newhaven but left in August. She’s at a better place now. At first, Newhaven had tasty food, but it wasn’t as good by May. The workers were nice at the start, but soon, there weren’t enough of them. My mom saw that people had to wait a long time, even an hour, to get help back to their rooms. Two of her friends fell, and no one came to help them for an hour. I don’t think this place is good for anyone, especially not for people with dementia.

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living with Excellent Care and Comfort"
Moving my mom to an assisted living facility was tough. It took me two years to decide, and most of last year to find the right place. I checked out 20 places, but settled on Linwood because it's peaceful, the building is nice, the staff is great, they offer a lot of services, and most importantly, Mom gets her own room, which was a must. The Memory Care Director and the caregivers who work with Mom are wonderful—they're kind, caring, patient, and understanding. There were some delays with paperwork at first, which was frustrating. They could make things easier by giving families a folder with all the information they need when they first arrive, like how prescriptions work and who to call for medical help, plus details about services like haircuts and nail trims. But most importantly, the care they give is what matters most, and they do a great job. I'd tell my family and friends to choose this place.

"The New Haven Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care"
A recent two-star review highlights concerns about inconsistent assistance, unmet needs, and lack of attention to residents. The reviewer’s mother faced challenges with bathing, getting into bed, and mobility, despite the facility’s initial evaluation. The family’s frustration escalated when no one responded to calls for help, leaving the reviewer to assist their mother personally. Unfortunately, these issues persisted until the day before her passing. The family hopes their feedback will prevent similar experiences for others.

"Recommended with Room for Improvement"
We’d suggest Newhaven Court to other families, but they could enhance their meal options and expand the menu.

"Assisted Living Community: Nice but Hard-to-Reach Location Concerns Family"
We toured in person. The community is nice but hard to reach. Directions are confusing with many turns. Our loved one didn't like the location.
