"High Functionality, but Long-Term Affordability Concerns"

"It did what my mom needed then, but it's pricey for her long-term. She just moved out."

"Caring Staff, Nutritious Meals Needed"

They were friendly and caring throughout. However, they should provide healthier meal options tailored to individual needs.

"Mixed Experience at Small Assisted Living Facility"

The place is clean and easy to get around. It feels cozy like a home because it's not too big. Some of the workers are nice, but others aren't that great. The bosses left, not sure if they chose to or got told to go. They're not good at keeping in touch with families. My relative's fridge hasn't been working right for a month. We've told them lots of times, but it's still not fixed. The internet is slow. Cleaning is okay, but not great. The food isn't tasty.

"Head Nurse Departure Raises Concerns"

The ED (Executive Director) is awesome—experienced and caring. They met with us and made us feel confident. Sadly, the head nurse left, and I'm worried until they find a replacement.

"Evening Staff Needs Improvement"

The community is pleasant overall, with friendly residents and most of the staff being helpful. However, the evening staff could be more attentive. One issue is that they hire inexperienced people from outside without proper health or aide training. There's also a need for better coverage and support from new upper management. The director, [name removed], seems to put in a lot of effort but appears overwhelmed and could use more staff.

"Outdated Facility with Mediocre Staff"

We visited Park Creek Place, and it was just alright. The building inside seemed old-fashioned, and the people we talked to weren't anything special. It wasn't what we were looking for.

"Family-Friendly Assisted Living with Decent Care"

We chose this community because it's close to family, and our loved one already lives here. It's decent for long-term care. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food gets a thumbs up from Mom. Overall, no major complaints.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community"

I wouldn't recommend this community for loved ones. My family member wasn't happy here. The food was terrible, mostly hot dogs. Lunch was the main meal, and dinner was lighter. Staff communication with families was okay.

"Budget-friendly choice recommended by loved ones for assisted living."

We haven't been around Park Creek Place much, but our loved one picked it. He knew folks who lived there, and it fit his budget better.

"“Good Tour, Not Perfect”"

Our family visited in person, and the tour was pleasant, but it didn’t quite meet our needs.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Plenty of Activities and Nice Facilities"

It's a nice place to live if you like being social and joining activities. They have lots of good things, but my loved one doesn't join in much, which is his choice. There are always things to do. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The building is nice and has a pretty courtyard where residents can sit outside. There are also many rooms for everyone to use.

"Family pleased with in-person tour"

Our family visited in person, and it met our expectations.

"Clean facility with helpful staff but mixed care levels"

Park Creek Place was very clean. The marketing director we met was awesome and really tried to help us with what we needed. The only downside was that the residents needed more care than my loved one does, and all the care types were mixed together. Other than that, it seemed like a great place.

"Not quite what I wanted, location too far, tour okay."

The community was alright, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted for my loved one, and it's farther away from where I prefer. The tour wasn't bad; it just wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

"Lovely Assisted Living, Beyond Budget, Engaging Atmosphere"

Park Creek Place is a lovely place. The person in charge was very energetic, friendly, and easy to talk to. The people who live there were active and involved. When I got there, they were in the middle of an exercise class, and they invited me to join them while I was waiting to meet them. Unfortunately, it's too expensive for us, so we will have to find another place.

"Avoid This Facility At All Costs"

Keep your distance, this place is terrible. If you truly value the well-being of your loved ones, do not consider this facility.

"Spacious Community Tour with Kind Staff and Clean Environment"

I had a nice visit to this place. Everyone was really nice and helpful. The place looked really good, everything was kept up well. The people who work there that I met were really polite and told me a lot of useful things. They answered my questions. It was a good experience, but this place was a bit bigger than what I would have preferred.

"Great staff, clean community, and nice activities."

My friend is still getting used to living here. The staff are great and really supportive. They have daily activities and the food is decent. The place is clean and the grounds look nice. There's a memory care building next door. I would recommend this place.

"Pleasant Place, Not Fit for Active Seniors"

The staff was really pleasant. The people working there were kind too. It would be a good fit if my mom needed more help and wasn’t so active. I noticed a lot of folks napping in their wheelchairs, but that’s not how my mom is.

"Mixed Feelings About Mom's Care in Assisted Living"

My mom's stay is good, but they promised more. They said they'd check on her and help often, but they don't really do that. Also, no thermostats in rooms; my mom's room stays cold, about 58 degrees. They keep saying they'll fix it, but it's been over a year with no changes. Overall, she gets good care, but these issues are frustrating to deal with.

"Caring Staff!"

My loved one has been doing well since moving into this community. The staff in the memory care unit have been friendly and helpful, making sure my sister adjusts to her new living environment. Overall, we’re happy with the care she’s receiving.

"Trending Downward: Disappointment in Park Creek's Care Standards"

Every week when I go see my friend at Park Creek, I can tell the care is just getting worse. There's been talk about staff not treating people right and them having to look after themselves. I've seen employees spending time on their own phones. And my friend's phone got [Removed]. Her room doesn't look like it's been vacuumed or mopped ever. It's always messy and seems to be even dirtier each time I see it. She's called for help and had to wait for more than an hour, and it's happened multiple times. I'm so upset with the staff and the care here. I know the caregivers don't have enough help and aren't paid what they should be. The blame's really on the corporation that's in charge of Park Creek. It's on a steep downhill slide.

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living"

My family member is well taken care of here. She feels the staff is kind. They have daily activities, and the place is super clean. I enjoyed the food. The manager on our tour was nice and talked to residents. I think others should check out this place.

"Amazing Staff and Activities!"

The people at this place are really nice to my mom. They helped her a lot with moving in and getting used to everything. The food is good, and I'm excited for the activities they have every day. I had a really good time overall, and I don't have any complaints.

"Needs Updates and Closer Options"

Park Place is an older community. It looks a little worn and could use some updates. One thing we didn't like was that the residents had to eat in separate small dining rooms all over the place. Also, it's a bit far from where we live, and there are other places nearby that cost about the same.

4/5.00 Published 7 years ago

"Mom's Happy, Staff Nice, Meals Good, Activities Fun"

My mom gets good care here. The people are nice and helpful. She likes the food and activities. I'd recommend it to others.

""Shaky Transition Shakes Trust in Assisted Living Community""

This place is going through changes and it's pretty difficult. They're losing a lot of staff and the care is not as good as it used to be. Even the food isn't that great anymore because one cook is running both kitchens. They're not as quick to help residents as they were. They keep the place clean, but a few families have moved their loved ones away because of these issues.

"Happy with Brookdale Montgomery for my mom’s care"

I checked out seven assisted living places in my area, all recommended by A Place for Mom. Their help was very informative and I’m so grateful. After a long search, I chose Brookdale Montgomery. I considered many factors, like the services offered, pricing, activities, staff kindness, facility beauty, and advanced care needs. This place turned out to be the best for my mom, and she loves it there. I’m very pleased with my choice.

"Clean and friendly place, but chose elsewhere for my loved one"

I visited this place when searching for care for family. It was clean and nice. Staff were friendly and professional. We picked another place, but this could have been an option.

"Solid Staff, Poor Management, Good Food, Reasonable Prices"

The current lead at this establishment seems phony and distant. I truly think she's out of her depth and they couldn't have chosen a less competent person to run the place. The care does seem decent and the staff are all friendly. The front desk person was always cordial and greeted warmly. Nurses do their work adequately, though they could push for more excellence. The assistants were always supportive and ensured my father looked his best during his time there. The sales manager appeared to be a pleasant person, but she sometimes seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Dad never had a bad thing to say about the food, it was always done right. Pricing was fair, even though occasionally hiked depending on the level of care needed by my father.

"Security Concerns Raised at Brookdale Montgomery Assisted Living Facility"

When I visited Brookdale Montgomery, I noticed a few things. First, when someone was upset and crying during our tour of the memory care unit, the staff didn't stop to help, which bothered me a lot. Also, in the personal care area, the staff was really great. However, when I tried to take my dad out for the day, I found no one at the front desk. It made me realize anyone could leave without being noticed. The residents actually helped me find my dad's room instead of the staff, which was surprising. On a positive note, the marketing person was amazing; she really impressed me. My only wish is that they accepted Medicaid. Overall, if money wasn't an issue, I would definitely choose Brookdale Montgomery.

"Great care, but watch out for extra costs"

Brookdale Montgomery is a pretty good place overall. They take good care of the residents and provide nice things for them. The people who work here are nice and know what they're doing. But, I was a little worried about how much extra things cost. Right now, what we're paying is okay, but it could get really expensive later. And, they've already raised the prices a bit since my loved one got here.

"Decent assisted living with friendly staff, minor issues with food."

The assisted living facility seems to be doing pretty well. This is our second time using them for a short stay. It's quite clean and the staff is very friendly. The food isn't amazing; I'd rate it a 2.5 or 3 out of 5. They're quick to respond if there's a problem. They asked a lot of questions about her daily routine, and they've been pretty helpful and kind. There have been some mix-ups with laundry and the possibility of losing items. I'd caution against bringing expensive things that might get lost.

"Management"

My mom has seen three different Executives come and go. Kathy Rhoads was the best thing for our community. But now, there’s an Ice Queen overseeing the property. She’s the worst person to run the home. The team says she’s on medical leave, but how is Brookdale taking care of my mom and everyone else? Who will watch over Wynwood? I heard they’re losing the Executive in Dublin too. Values have changed, and I’m considering moving my mom out. Other families feel the same. It used to be a perfect team, all about money and census.

"Staged Atmosphere Leaves Me Uncertain"

It didn't feel like anyone was there. It seemed more like a fancy resort than a real community. I couldn't figure out what it was truly like; it felt like a performance. Instead of regular residents, it seemed like actors were living there. People even danced in the halls, and I doubted that was how life really was.

"clean, friendly staff, accessible, slow response times."

Our experience has been good at the community! It looks nice and clean, and the staff are all friendly. We really liked the rooms when we toured. One thing we found great is that all the bathrooms are accessible for handicapped/wheelchair users. It surprised me during the tours how few places have accessible bathrooms! Although our loved one has complained a few times about slow response times for her in-room call button, we haven't confirmed it yet.

"Limited Supervision at Assisted Living Facility"

My grandma didn't need professional nursing care when she first moved in there, but she does now. The place was great until a few months in. The people there were friendly and she liked her time there. However, they don't always keep a close eye on the residents. I feel like they're often short on staff. I remember once I rang for help and nobody came. There were a few times when my grandma tried to leave the room and staff had to quickly run to stop her. Overall, most of the staff are nice people. I feel like they should interact more with the residents though. It's a beautiful place with big rooms. On a few occasions, I noticed other residents in my grandma's room, just sitting there for hours, with no staff aware of their whereabouts.

"Consider This: Poor Treatment at Assisted Living Facility"

A visit might wow you, BUT, never let your family member reside here. They made the bed with soiled sheets tucked under the bedspread. Numerous complaints to management persisted without resolution. The supervisors kept changing- like five times in two years. If your relative can't bathe on their own, don't even consider this place. We moved my mom and her care has been fantastic for the last two years. A tip - non-profit institutions tend to treat their staff and residents better than for-profit facilities.

"Close to Home and Familiar"

It's close to our current house, so we'd know the area.

"Decent facility with potential."

Good place overall, but with room for improvement.

"Nice staff, unfortunately the rooms are cramped."

The staff is friendly, but the rooms are too small.
