"Needs More Activities for Memory Care Residents"
We feel that the Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley could do better in making sure all residents, especially those in memory care, have more things to do. It seemed like there weren’t any activities happening when we were there.

"Caring Staff at Rittenhouse Village, Aging Building Needs Attention"
The folks at Rittenhouse Village are really friendly. They care a lot about my mom's health and always check in on her. The building is kinda old and has some problems, though.

"Friendly community, good care, clean facility, great location"
The community isn’t very big, but it’s friendly and welcoming. The staff encourages residents to interact, which is great. My loved one is seeing the house doctor, and the care has been good, including the nursing staff and other professionals they bring in. The facility has been updated and is clean. It might benefit from one or two more activity rooms. I like the location because it’s near the hospital, and the residents can enjoy sitting outside and watching birds at the feeders with no traffic around. It’s a lovely setting.

"Updated Criteria Affects Pricing Friendly Staff and Pleasant Environment"
For any community, it's important to understand how they decide on different levels of care and what steps they take to determine where residents fit in. This affects how much you'll have to pay at the facility. Rittenhouse recently changed their criteria, which has led to higher prices. The activities offered are okay - my loved one wishes there wasn't so much Bingo. However, the staff is nice, helpful, and usually quick to assist. The facility itself is bright, spacious, and doesn't have any unpleasant smells. It's too early to judge outdoor activities because my loved one has only been there during the winter months.

"Enjoyable Tour of Upbeat Assisted Living Facility"
My sister and I liked visiting this place. The place was very clean, and they're fixing up all the rooms which was nice to see. We liked seeing many of the people who live there outside playing bingo and word games. The people who work there were very friendly. It was a really positive community, and that was our favorite part. [Name removed] did a really good job answering all of our questions and showing us around.

"Irresponsible Assisted Living Facility Loses License Amidst Horrendous Conditions"
The Pennsylvania government revoked the license of this assisted living facility last week due to an excessive amount of inspection violations and incidents that led to a resident's death after going missing from the memory care unit. This information is publicly available if you look up the Department of Health Service's records and search for news articles regarding Woodland Terrace. Strangely enough, they're still going ahead with remodeling work – which definitely reveals where their real priorities lie. It's rare to find a nurse on duty and residents' call bells often remain unanswered for over half an hour consistently. They excel at selling their services but the care they provide is shockingly poor. Their small staff team is overworked and lacking in proper training. We hope the state continues to enforce this decision. Management has been alerted time and time again about the terrible conditions but they've chosen to disregard it. This responsibility extends all the way up to the Woodbine Group. It's truly disgraceful!

"Failing Facility: Broken Promises and Serious Problems Abound"
This place gives good tours and looks pretty decent. But, there's a lot of big issues here that need fixing. Right now, Pennsylvania has only given them a temporary license because they keep breaking the rules. You can look this up on the internet; it's something everyone can see. They mess up with giving citizens the right medicine a lot. There's a really big problem going on right now that has been on the news a lot. A person living in the memory care section disappeared one night about a month ago. Unfortunately, things didn't end well, and people are still trying to figure out what happened. This place doesn't have enough workers and those who do work there don't stick around for long. The quality of food has also gone down and the food service isn't great. Many older folks have to wait a long time before they get their meals. The meals are served by the same people who give care and medicine because there's no separate group for serving meals. Those people have too much work and complain about it in front of the residents. Back in 2016, there was a change in owners and managers. They promised a lot, but nothing's gotten better.

"Neglected residents, constant staff change, and ignored issues in assisted living facility"
A person living here has been gone for quite a few days, a story picked up by the local news. The staff is forever changing and there are issues related to wrong medicines, ignored help requests, dirty surroundings and overall neglect. The elderly people wait in the dining room for a long time without any staff assistance. It's the caretakers who serve food, clean up and organize the dining room, there's no one left to take care of the residents in their rooms during meal times. The people in charge do the bare minimum and show no concern even when problems are pointed out to them. The elderly folk here deserve so much better treatment!

"Substandard Conditions and High Staff Turnover at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living facility underwent new leadership last year, and they promised positive improvements. Instead, things have gotten worse. The staff is not sufficient. Often, they don't satisfy the essential needs of the residents — forgetting meals, failing to fix broken air conditioning units, and neglecting proper medication distribution due to unsanitary conditions. The number of staff leaving the job was already high, but now it's even higher. The management team doesn't listen to the concerns of families, nor do they take responsibility for the poor conditions. They throw impressive holiday parties and give convincing tours, but there are many problems kept hidden. The dining situation is terrible. Residents often wait for their food for more than an hour due to staff shortages as caregivers are pulled off their duties to serve food. The food quality has also declined, serving the same pre-packaged meals repeatedly. Staff members are unhappy and overworked, many pulling double shifts regularly. This is disappointing because the location is beautiful and could be so much better. They continue to mess up without acknowledging their failures, and the residents suffer as a result. Many have moved out recently due to these issues.

"Beautiful Place, But Lacks Needed Care for My Wife"
Woodland Terrace at The Oaks is a beautiful place. However, it wasn’t right for my wife because she needed more than just assisted living care. The staff didn’t seem to have the right structure and experience to handle her needs. The meals were good, and it was a clean place, but it just wasn’t a good fit for us.
