"Caring staff, but communication needs improvement among caretakers and administrators."
The daily caretakers were really nice and cared for my mom. Communication among caretakers, nurses, doctors, and administrators must improve at this facility, and I mentioned this to them.

"Norovirus Outbreak Dampens Experience"
The place was nearby, and the staff seemed friendly. Our top choice was full, but this one was okay. Other people gave it good ratings. The only issue was a norovirus outbreak during the second week, which wasn't their fault, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

"Decent Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"
It's a decent place overall, though some things could be better. It's better than homes that accept Medicaid. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but like anywhere nowadays, a few did as little as possible. Our loved one often complained about long waits for the bathroom. I saw one aide avoid going to a room, but that seemed to be an isolated case. Most were friendly and respectful. Considering the $XX,XXX monthly cost, the aides don't seem adequately compensated, affecting their service. However, it's better than two communities. Unlike the community, the dementia floor here doesn't smell of urine, and the staff pays more attention to patients.

"Disappointing Experience at Sunrise of Exton, Lacks Adequate Staff"
Sunrise of Exton simply did not have enough workers. The ones they did have didn't make us feel welcomed. While the place was kept really clean, their food was just alright. Not having enough staff ended up causing lots of problems. At one point, they even gave my mom medicine just to make her less difficult, instead of trying to find other ways to help her. Despite getting a lot of good reviews, our experience here was pretty letdown.

"Sunrise Assisted Living: Caring Staff, Supportive Community"
Going to any place new can be tough and requires patience. Overall, Sunrise really tried hard to support my family member. Most of the workers are great and meet my loved one's needs well.

"Great Care and Close to Hospitals"
Everything is pretty nice. They had two lockdowns because of the pandemic. The first one lasted a couple of weeks, and food was delivered to the residents in their rooms. Recently, they had another modified lockdown. The staff are giving booster shots and helping take care of the residents. The healthcare is better than I thought it would be. My loved one is doing better than we expected. The community is close to two big hospitals. If you can afford Sunrise, this is a good place.

"Assisted Living Facility Fails in Communication and Mail Management"
Moving mom out led to mail problems. No individual mailboxes. Can't forward. They only talk to POA about medical issues. This isn't effective. If a resident goes to the hospital and they can't reach the POA, they won't inform the family. The doctor's approach is problematic, focusing on knowing the resident before addressing memory issues. This results in more time spent in rehab for falls than in the facility over six months. Listening to those who know the resident's health best, even if they're not the POA, is crucial and not happening at Sunrise.

"Poor Staff, Disregard for Privacy at Assisted Living Facility"
Don't trust this facility for your loved ones. The staff, particularly those working nighttime hours, often neglect the residents and can behave rudely. They freely enter and exit rooms, rarely announcing their presence and completely disregard privacy. Their skills in basic chores like laundry folding and room cleaning are subpar. The meals are unappetizing, and they constantly mix up orders. The only shining star in this mess seems to be the daytime (M-F) concierge. She's wonderful, always ready to help, and treats everyone with kindness.

"My 1st Choice"
I was really impressed by this place. It has a cozy, homey feeling and I think my mom would have been very comfortable here. It was decorated nicely and had lots of different things for the residents to do. But my mom felt she would be happier in a place where she had been in rehab. I would definitely recommend taking a tour of this community.

"Father-in-law Happy with Assisted Living Facilities Care"
My father-in-law resides here in a pleasant neighborhood. The employees are friendly and convenient. He appears content with the attention he gets here. They provide activities for him which he is able to join if he wishes. Families ought to come see the kind of care their loved one would get to decide if it suits what they're seeking.

"Think Twice Before Choosing Sunrise Senior Living"
My mom might not stay at Sunrise Senior Living much longer. While most people working there are kind, they occasionally miss checking in on my mom. The meals are generally okay, but once, she got a piece of chicken that was not cooked right. However, they do have some activities she can join. I'd suggest thinking it over before deciding to move a family member in there.

"Great care and support for Mom during our absence"
The care my mother got at Sunrise while we were gone was great. They answered all our questions whenever we called to check on her. When she fell, they called us right away, but her injury wasn’t serious. The staff helped her call us when she wanted to talk. They seemed very caring and attentive to her daily needs.

"Homey Feel Over Institutional Vibe"
I really like this place. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. I don't have any complaints, and they're quick to help when needed. They offer a good variety of activities. The food is okay, but sometimes the laundry gets mixed up. We picked this place because it feels like home, not like an institution.

"Good Care, But Needs Consistency Without Karen"
We’re mostly happy with the care at this place. A lot of the workers are super good. They have lots of fun stuff to do, so people are never bored and always moving. Ashlee, who goes on trips with the folks here, is awesome. Karen, who’s in charge of the third floor, does a great job. When she’s around, everything’s perfect. But when Karen’s not there, we see some slip-ups with how clean things are and how people are looked after. Sometimes, we find dirty gloves and used washcloths lying around, or people still wearing their heavy coats inside after a trip. If we tell someone, they fix it fast. But I think sometimes they don’t pay enough attention to my family member because they don’t need as much help as others.

"Very Satisfied with Care"
My mother-in-law was in the memory unit for three short months before she passed. We struggled to find a facility that would accept her due to her resistance to leave home and her physical limitations. We were so relieved to find Sunrise of Paoli, and although she was only there for three months, we were very impressed with the facility and staff. They made sure she was comfortable and she enjoyed the planned activities.

"Great Sunrise Location; Lacking Medical Capabilities"
I favored this Sunrise facility due to its convenient location close to my parent's Target store and their neighborhood, Swedesford Chase. It's good that there's a local Paoli doctor the residents use and that they connect with Paoli Hospital (and possibly CC Hospital). However, I found it concerning they can't manage sliding scale insulin, an important aspect for my father who suffers from diabetes among other conditions. The Paoli's Sunrise seemed cleaner in comparison. Both the facilities lacked fitness centers, but they did offer classes to the residents. I had a very good impression of the director at this facility and their recent state report was impressive. Though I didn't taste their food, I did notice access to popcorn all day which can contribute to high cholesterol. Fortunately, they serve sugar-free desserts with each meal. They provide Wifi, which is a plus point for my mom as she can use her computer in her room. The facility houses about 50 residents.
