"Struggles with Care and Costs, Best for Independent Residents"
My family had problems with the workers taking good care of my relative. She needed more help, especially with staying clean, but often they didn't do well with that. They also started charging us for little things. Eventually, we had to take our loved one out. I'd suggest this place for folks who don't need much help and can manage on their own.

We chose this place because it's close by and not too big. When we visited, the people living there seemed cheerful and kind to us and to each other. We were really happy. Talking with the staff was easy. We felt better knowing our mom was somewhere safe and getting good care. It was comforting to know she wasn't alone.

We are so pleased with the care our loved one receives at this assisted living facility. She is incredibly happy there, and we are very happy with our decision to choose this place. The meals and dining service are really good, and there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. However, like many places, they have had trouble finding enough people to work, which caused some problems with our bills and getting them paid on time. It was frustrating not getting calls back, but it seems like they've fixed that issue now.

The person who helped our family initially isn't at Sunrise of Newton Square anymore. He was friendly, responsible, and easy to work with. My dad got decent care, and there was no neglect. The community is okay, and the price was fair. But don't expect anything extraordinary. The care was decent, and the staff were good to us. The only problem was with billing. We paid everything upfront, but still got a bill at the end of our loved one's stay. I had to contact them multiple times to explain that we'd already paid. Eventually, it got resolved, but it took a few tries.

We don't suggest this place for families needing help with everyday tasks like showering or getting to the fridge. We were assured that if we paid for extra care, our loved one would get it, but that didn't happen. They didn't meet our expectations. If your loved one can manage mostly on their own, this might work for them.

"Gross Neglect at Assisted Living Facility"
The visits to our relative at this facility were always distressing. It seemed as though he was rarely properly cleaned. His hair was often unkempt and lack of shaving evident. Rather than addressing these issues, staff would simply conceal them with a hat whenever he had outings. They made him wear t-shirts constantly despite having an array of clothing to pick from his wardrobe. Healthcare professionals raised serious concerns about his well-being. During a medical checkup, his doctor pointed out severe undernourishment, implying a lack of assistance with meal intake at the facility. Additionally, the doctor noted some extremely severe bed sores, which are typically signs of neglect. Added to all of this was the facility's failure to communicate critical health information. Our family felt left in the dark about our relative's deteriorating condition, resulting in an overall disappointing experience with this assisted living situation.

Families need to know how they can trust their care decisions, but Sunrise Assisted Living of Newtown Square Pennsylvania let us down. I feel like people need to hear the truth, and the three-and-a-half star rating I see for this place doesn't match the truth! We hit too many issues that were met with stubbornness instead of understanding, and that's totally not okay!
