"Disappointing Care and High Bills at Sunrise Facility"
My family member stayed at Sunrise of Upper St. Clair and we had a horrible time. They essentially let her stay in bed for weeks on end, they didn't even use the Hoyer lift, and she received poor care. To top it off, they handed us a bill for $ I strongly advise not going to this place.

"Dissatisfactory Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
1. This place wasn't suitable for my mom as they only have the capacity to take care of certain types of residents. We've decided to leave this week. 2. The facilities are unclean, with a constant odor and sticky floors. Used adult diapers have been left unattended in rooms for days. 3. A few staff members were the only saving grace of this facility, making us reconsider our decision to leave. However, without them around, it simply wasn't enough. 4. The only reason this isn't a complete disaster is because of a few employees who truly cared for their patients. 5. We've had enough of the terrible meals. Comparatively, the hospital served better food during our 5-day stay. They always serve sugary beverages and snacks, with no options for decaf - all this despite claiming to promote health. 6. They don't make an effort to interact with everyone nor do they have adequate staff to do so. They treat their activities like a chore, much like everything else. 7. You pay for the reassurance that your loved ones are taken care of and valued - when that stops happening, it's more of a liability than a service.

In my opinion, all these assisted living facilities seem identical.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
Avoid this place. They didn't deliver what they said they would. We believed their promises, but it was just like the previous facility.

"Assisted Living Gem: Sunrise Cares, Feels Like Home"
A Place For Mom was like a savior when I didn't know where to go for help. Sunrise, I still think, is one of the best places to be, even though some ratings are just average. But I feel like many places are below average. The people who work there were nice and quick to help, but sometimes there weren't enough or they didn't know what to do. I was really involved with my dad's care, but they seemed to like that and let me help, which is good. Sunrise seemed like a good place for my dad in a lot of ways. He had just lost his wife after 69 years together, but the love and caring they showed him was amazing. Sunrise treated him like a person and let him do things on his own. Instead of staying in bed or in his chair all the time, they got him moving around using a walker! They always made sure he was safe, but it didn't just help his mind, it helped his body too. When I first went inside, it felt like a home. There was a piano that residents or guests played often, and they even had a dog! I could bring my own dog to see my dad every day, which made a lot of people happy. It didn't feel like a hospital or smell like one either. The third-floor patio and the outside paths with flowers and birds were nice extras. Every person on the team cared about the people who lived there. They each had their own jobs, but they would help each other if someone needed help or just wanted to feel better. I'm really glad I found Sunrise.

"Mixed Experience in Lovely Assisted Living Community"
We chose this community based on recommendations from APFM, its proximity, and the kindness of the staff, the Marketing Director. It's a nice place with friendly people, but some staff seem only interested in their paycheck. There's a wonderful nurse, but some aides on the night shift prefer not to assist higher maintenance residents and may be found sitting around.

"Warm and inviting environment in a smaller, caring assisted living."
We picked Sunrise of Upper St. Clair because it felt warm and welcoming. I liked that it wasn't too big. When I walked in, I saw a staff member helping a upset lady, and she handled it well. That meant a lot to me. I would suggest this place to others.

"High Cost for Good Care, Enjoyable Activities, and Meals"
This community is nice, but it's pricey for the care. They help with medicine, dressing, and bathing. They also plan activities like outings and exercises for residents to join. My loved one likes the food. They serve three meals a day with options to pick from.

"Great community with caring management, ensure clear communication for success"
I really like this community and the person who manages it. There was a small mix-up with our loved one in our situation. Make sure everyone understands what your loved one needs and that everyone is in agreement.

"Friendly, home-like facility with caring staff; dog greeting a hit!"
My mom and I visited this place, and it feels cozy, almost like a home. Their dog welcomed us, which made my mom happy. We're checking out another place so she can choose where she wants to go. We met all the workers, who were nice and knew what they were doing.
