"Friendly staff and tasty dinners make this place great"
I have lived here for almost a year, and it’s been really nice. The staff are very friendly, and I enjoy talking to them. They are always willing to help and get me what I need. I really like their staff because they are very patient and kind. The dining staff is also very nice and helpful. My favorite meal is dinner, where I love having chicken, mashed potatoes, and almost any type of vegetable.

"Settling in with friendly staff and fun activities"
I'm new here but settling in well. The people here have different personalities, and I'm finding the ones I connect with. I've met some residents I enjoy talking to during meals. The staff is very nice and respectful. I really like in the dining room. There are lots of activities, but I love the ones that get me moving and exercising. I enjoy the morning exercise classes and want to join the walking club when it's warmer. I also hope to do some gardening in the spring.

"Unexpected Costs and Poor Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
The starting price they told us was lower than what it actually turned out to be. After my loved one moved in, we found out it was going to cost every month. My brother has been managing his own medications for over 50 years, but they insisted on doing it for him, which meant we had to pay even more. This was way more than we could afford each month. We had to pay for the whole month upfront. But when he left, we thought we’d get money back for the nursing service, like giving him his daily meds. It is a lot for him since he doesn’t make much money. I’ve been trying to get this money back since October, which is almost 6 months now. But they never return my calls! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

We took a family tour, and it was pretty good overall. It seemed a bit older than our top choice, but it was definitely clean and well-maintained.

"Helpful Staff and Clear Fees at Sunrise of Westtown"
The staff was really helpful when my loved one stayed at Sunrise of Westtown. The billing team needed some extra attention, but everything got sorted out in the end. It was good that they broke down all the fees so we knew what we were paying for. They also worked well with hospice.

"Friendly Community with Some Room for Improvement"
Everyone we dealt with was friendly. Billing issues were fixed. Administration was available for concerns. However, my loved one wasn’t always cared for properly. The community accepted their pet and kept things clean. Caregivers were responsive. Staff encouraged activities.

"Expensive, disappointing facility with poor staff"
This place might remind you of a Disney resort when you first see it, but don't let that fool you. Taking care of your loved ones here requires constant oversight on your part. The staff often forgets things, and it seems like they haven't been trained well. Also, they can be really mean and disrespectful to the residents a lot of the time. Residents are usually left on their own, having to ask for help over and over again. The food isn't great and the meals are not enough. Residents often have to ask for more food if they're still hungry. Then there are the costs. The rent and care fees are way too high for the poor service they provide. Sometimes, even the basic services aren't provided unless you complain. The staff don't use their common sense, so you really have to spell out everything for them.

"Assisted Living Tour Reveals Pros and Cons"
I visited this assisted living facility for a tour, and it went smoothly. The staff was friendly, answered all my questions, and the food during lunch was delicious. However, the rooms were a bit small, and the hallways were quite long, far from the dining room. Families should tour communities before deciding.

"Issues with Organization and Communication"
My folks stayed in this place for roughly a week. During their stay, a couple of problems cropped up. There are certain aspects this place needs to work on. Our main concern was about lapses in communication. We faced some trouble with my dad's medicine and also in getting to know the routine followed in this place. I think they really need to be more systematic.

My cousin is doing great in the Memory Care community. I chose this place because it’s close to me and has good care. The staff give her the care she needs and always call me with updates. It has worked out well for us.

"Understaffed, but very friendly hardworking people"
Sunrise Senior Living does a good job overall, but there's room for improvement. The care and service staff work hard and are friendly and caring. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough of them, especially in the dining room where service can be very slow at times.

"Beautiful place, great staff, but no rehab services"
I really liked my tour of this place. It was one of my top picks out of all the assisted living places I visited. The setup was beautiful, and I loved the layout of the whole complex. The staff was super nice, and I had a great experience overall. Sadly, they didn’t have the rehab service my mom would need.

"Nice place, friendly and welcoming staff!"
Sunrise Senior Living has been great so far! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I appreciate all their effort in helping my loved one settle in. When he struggled to make friends, they reached out to me for ideas about his interests and activities he might enjoy, which I thought was really thoughtful!

"Positive but alert: Nice staff, Facilities, Issues with communication and billing"
We've had some problems with Sunrise but the bosses have been quick to fix them. But, heads up, it's only worth talking to the big bosses like the executive director or the care director. The rest of the team is pretty nice and helpful even though there seems to be some issues with training new folks and getting them up to speed on how things work. Despite the annoying bits, there's more good than bad. The food's tasty and they keep our rooms clean. On the downside, they've jacked up our rates without telling us, leading to some big unexpected costs. We aren't happy about that at all.

"High Bills and Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"
My mother nearly passed away while she was staying here. She became very sick when they were supposed to look after her. They didn't manage her fever, which occurred every night. When it came to payments, they had initially quoted an amount of $1700, but I was shocked to find that the bill amounted to $3000. Despite requesting paperwork that explains where this extra charge came from, they haven't provided me with anything yet.

"Welcoming Assisted Living Facility with Room for Communication Improvement"
Sunrise Senior Living in Westtown feels just like home. They're super nice to the residents, taking care of each one's needs. Maybe they could improve their communication when someone moves in. It took a while for someone to help us settle in. But overall, it's been great! My aunt loves it there, making lots of friends. If I had to choose again, I'd still pick them.

"Mixed Feelings About Sunrise Assisted Living So Far"
Sunrise is decent two weeks in, but there are issues. The biggest problem is the lack of good communication both within the staff and with my mom and our family. My mom needs help going to meals, but often says she doesn't want to. Instead of encouraging her to eat and take part in activities, the staff seems fine with her staying in her room. We picked Sunrise because we thought she would interact a lot with other residents and with the staff. That hasn't really happened. They also don’t seem to talk to each other enough. The first two weeks are hard for everyone and they seem confused about my mom's needs, both for help and medically. We feel like we have to have a family member or friend there every day to ensure she's being taken care of properly. My mom won't complain, so even though she needs support, she often doesn't get it because she feels like she's being troublesome if she asks for help. I thought the Sunrise staff would be more involved, especially at the start. The staff is really nice when we reach out, but many seem overworked, especially the LPN's. I think that explains some of the lack of attention. I'm hoping once she gets more used to things, they'll fall into a routine and she'll receive all the help and motivation she needs.

"Wonderful care and support for my mom!"
I think they are watching my mom more closely, and we are happier here than at the last place. We visit all the time, and she seems fine and happy there. My sister and I love A Place For Mom! Molly was the one who helped me, and she was fantastic. She supported us while we struggled with what to do. Molly set up appointments and emails, and she was amazing! We can give high marks for Molly. I don’t know what I would have done without her; she is a lifesaver. Westtown even moved my mom’s room closer to the nurses' station to keep a good eye on her.

"A Great Choice for My Wife's New Home"
My wife, Joan, has only been at Sunrise for a few weeks, so these are my initial impressions. She was previously in a home for dementia patients for eight months, where I was unhappy with some of the staff's attitudes. I decided to look for other options. After reaching out to "A Place for Mom," I received some recommendations and visited two homes. We chose Sunrise. From the start, Sunrise felt warm and welcoming, more like a home. I was first greeted by the director and then by a staff from sales, whom I had a meeting with. Both were professional and genuinely kind. They explained the costs, which matched the level of care provided. I saw the secure area for dementia patients, including both private and shared rooms, as well as the rest of the dementia area. I was also shown the main area where we can visit Joan. The dementia area is thoughtfully designed, with rooms in one wing and a fully carpeted hallway featuring several remembrance stations. The general area is an open wing that includes the kitchen, dining room, TV lounge, and craft area, all flowing smoothly from one to another. There’s also a private room for visits, a glassed-in porch, an outdoor porch, and a large, secure yard with seating, a walkway, trees, bushes, and flowers. The one who oversees the area has an office with windows allowing her to see both wings and she interacts with each guest. The cheerful and attentive staff seems dedicated to meeting the guests' needs. Compared to the previous home, Sunrise is much better, and I wish I had found it sooner. It offers good value for the cost.

"Sunrise: Convenient Location and Affordable, Needs More Activities"
Sunrise happens to be in the perfect spot for us. It's close to home and it helps that it's reasonably priced too. But, the loved one we have living here often says she's bored. She feels like there could be more events happening, and wishes they would try harder to make things fun.

"Homely Community"
This place is so convenient for my family. There are lots of parks nearby, and it's only a short drive from my mom. The building looks really nice and is decorated beautifully. It's not too big, so it feels cozy and just like home. Plus, the price is great. My mom can share a room, which makes it even more affordable.
