"Smaller, Personal Assisted Living with Scrabble Fun!"

My loved one had a good time here. She's younger than most residents, so some things don't interest her. But she joined a Scrabble group and made friends. The staff is nice. I appreciate that it's a smaller place with only about 50 beds. They know everyone, making it more personal.

"Assisted Living During Pandemic: Concerns and Restrictions"

During my time at this place, there were COVID restrictions. They have memory care. Often when I visit, residents are asleep in a common area. Caregivers are present, but I worry about the lack of activities. I'm confused about mask rules, especially for vaccinated children visiting. They only allow window visits or scheduled outdoor visits for kids under 14. I wish families could visit indoors with our loved ones.

"Safe and Highly Recommended!"

The community has done an excellent job with their COVID plan, ensuring resident safety. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to others.

"Caring and Active Community: Symphony Square Assisted Living Review"

My husband, passed away a month ago. During his four years at Symphony Square, he was well cared for. I never worried about him losing weight because he stayed busy with activities. Despite his serious health issues, the Director and her staff were always there for him. Whenever he had to go to the hospital, he returned to Symphony Square. The staff were kind and attentive to him. I visited almost every day and found the facility clean and pleasantly scented. Visit Symphony Square yourself to see. Thank you for everything. P.S. Every holiday was wonderful.

"Clean, friendly, good value, but needs more activities and diet options"

Overall, they do a great job keeping the place clean. We think they could clean the resident rooms a bit more often. Most of the staff is friendly. They have fun weekly activities like singing and dancing, and we arranged a driver to take our dad shopping. We think they could offer more different activities since the residents have different abilities. Symphony Square is a good value compared to other places nearby. The dining manager is very careful about seating, and the chef tries to meet nutritional needs. However, more options for stricter diets would be nice.

"Seeking Vibrant Care"

We visited Symphony Square, which felt like a fancy hotel. The staff was friendly and answered our questions. The layout prevented wandering, but it lacked a cozy atmosphere. We sought a livelier place for our loved one.

"Symphony Square Tour: Nice but Lacks Active, Homey Atmosphere"

We visited Symphony Square. It's like a fancy hotel. Staff was nice, answered our questions well. No wandering around, but didn't feel cozy. It was calm, not lively enough for my loved one.

"Parents Love Living at Symphony Square!"

My parents are really happy at Symphony Square. It looks beautiful, and they are starting to join in some of the many activities available. There are also field trips for shopping and special events for residents who want to participate. My parents enjoy the dining area, and the food is fantastic. I feel very comfortable with my parents living at Symphony Square.

"Kind and Clean Community"

This is a nice place, and my visit went well. Everything looked nice and clean. Everyone was kind to my family and me. I didn't think it was right for my dad, but they treated us very well during the tour.

"Best care for hearing-impaired residents"

Symphony Square is great for hard of hearing and deaf residents. They have ASL classes for employees and an employee fluent in ASL. Caregiver aids check on residents daily and help with their needs. I think this is the best place for my parents to get care, feel safe, and be comfortable in their room.

"Nice facility, spacious rooms, friendly staff; residential community setting."

This assisted care facility is very nice. It's well-maintained with friendly staff. The one-bedroom deluxe room was spacious with nice window views. We scheduled another visit for my Mother-in-Law to see. It's located in a residential area with not much around.

"Facility Fires Nurses: Overworked Aides, Family Planning Move"

Please know that the folks running this place chose to fire all the nurses. Until it's fixed, don't let anyone stay there. My dad's there but we're trying hard to get him out. The nurse aides do care, but they're overworked.

Symphony Square treats my parents well, feels like a community.

"Symphony Square - A Good Choice"

During our first visit, the staff at Symphony Square treated my parents as unique individuals, not just residents of an 'old folks home.' The common areas feel like a hotel or community space, unlike the more serious atmosphere in other assisted living places we checked out. Plus, Symphony Square offers a variety of food options, including made-to-order breakfast and lunch. Moving from a large home to a smaller apartment has been a significant change for my parents. However, they both agree that Symphony Square provides the right amount of space for their needs. The staff is friendly, helpful, and respectful, and we're very pleased with Symphony Square.

"Amazing Elderly Home Needs Work On Timeliness"

This assisted living place is pretty good with a warm and friendly team. The people in charge are also very dedicated. They could do better with their timing when it comes to helping seniors who can't control their bladder. But apart from that, it's a wonderful place for the elderly to live.

"Caring and Friendly Memory Care Experience at Symphony Square"

My father-in-law stayed in memory care at Symphony Square. The staff were always polite and friendly. The administration was understanding and easy to work with. They made us feel welcome and looked after. Thank you!

"Great staff and activities at Symphony Square!"

What a gem! I put my mom in Memory Care, and I’m so glad I did. The staff is great, with three residents for every one staff member. Before, I was paying for a private aide, and my mom sat alone all day. Now she gets to do fun activities, and I receive emails with pictures of what she’s doing. I’m really happy with Symphony Square!

"Great care and happy residents at Symphony Square!"

My friend moved in this week. I was nervous because he has dementia and needs personal care. The director and nurse from Symphony Square came to our house to meet him. That was something no other place we looked at offered. The care in the dementia unit is excellent. The staff is very caring. The other families I've met are all nice and seem happy. That means a lot to someone my age. Happiness is the most important thing, and people at Symphony Square truly seem happy.

"Happy Grandson"

My grandfather needed to move in quickly for a short stay. Thank you, Symphony team, for working hard to make him feel comfortable and happy. He’s been doing physical therapy and really enjoys the fun activities at Symphony Square.

"Great activities and caring staff at Symphony Square!"

I'm really happy with Symphony Square. My father lives in assisted living, and before he moved in, he worried there would be nothing to do. He was afraid he would just be one of those old people sitting in a nursing home lobby. But Symphony Square is nothing like that! Jonathan, the activities director, has brought in more artistic activities. They have painting with an art therapist twice a week, and a theater company comes in to work with the residents. My father goes on every trip, and there are many trips! The administrator and head nurse even give their personal cell phone numbers to families. They know my father, his favorite food, and what activities he likes. These little touches at Symphony Square are what keep us here.

"Grateful for Symphony Square's Care"

My mother is at Symphony Square. We searched everywhere for the right place. She first went to Sunrise in Haverford, but it didn't work for us. They got upset when we asked for help with toileting her. One Sunday, I called the marketer she, and they came to assess Mom. She’s 95 and truly cannot care for herself. The staff at Symphony Square have been wonderful, helping us through a tough adjustment period. Now, she’s thriving, getting involved in activities thanks to he, and really enjoying her life. Thank you, Symphony Square, for allowing me to be a daughter and not a caregiver.

"Dire Experience and Disappointment at Local Assisted Living Facility"

Thoroughly unimpressed. I visited a little over 12 months ago and the atmosphere drastically changed. In the past year, there were clear alterations that weren't positive in any way. I did another tour last week with my mom in mind. Financially, the staff seems unhappy. My tour kicked off with employees voicing their frustrations about the nursing director's ineptitude in the elevator. At some point, the director was brought up to me. He strolled past without intending to greet me unless someone had prompted him to. He came off as conceited, boasting about his dad owning the establishment, as if his identity or employment matters to me. I merely wished to get a clear picture of how they'd offer the best care to my mom during her sunset years. They gave me no such guarantee. I exited thoroughly let down. I've since decided to move my mom to Sunrise instead.

"Symphony Square's great care and activities"

My mom lives in Symphony Square's Dementia unit and it's one of the best decisions I've made. Dealing with a parent with dementia is really hard, but Symphony Square and the staff there helped us a lot. I wanted one-on-one care, and they have that. The Memory Care unit is small, only 12 people, but they always have 3 to 4 staff on duty. The staff are great, and they have activities all day, even into the night, like gardening and games, so my mom is always busy. I highly recommend Symphony Square.

"Review: Symphony Square Good Assisted Living, Not for Memory Care"

My parents were residents at Symphony Square for roughly half a year. As far as standard assisted living goes, it's completely satisfactory. The staff are all exceptionally kind and helpful, the meals are tasty, and the environment is lovely. The activities staff exert effort in organizing engaging and varied activities for the residents. However, I strongly advise against putting your loved ones in the "memory care" unit. Its layout isn't ideal, with corridors leading to exit doors that have windows. There is one exit door that provides a view of the bustling main activity area, and another that leads to the garden. This isn't suitable design for people with dementia as it causes them stress. They want to go through the doors but are unable, especially if they can witness activities happening. There's only one main spot for them to stay and nowhere to roam without confronting a door with a window. Though the staff members are kind and cooperative, they lack proper training and supervision. An activities schedule is always presented, but they seldom execute it. Moreover, they'll usually have the residents huddled around the TV (which can be bothering to dementia patients due to their visual troubles) while they converse with each other or are busy on their cellphones. There have been significant care shortfalls. To summarize, as a basic assisted living facility it's good, but I would STRONGLY ADVISE against it for DEMENTIA or ALZHEIMER'S CARE. It has an ill-suited design with insufficiently prepared and monitored personnel.

"Reviewing SSQ Assisted Living: Capability Versus Reality"

Our mom has been living in SSQ for some time now. The frontline staff, overall, shows true care and love for the residents. However, communication isn't their strongest suit, especially from the administration to both the family and other staff. It's bothersome how information about resident's conditions is often not passed down to the care-givers. Some of the staff members who view this job as their 'mission' are superb, but they are inadequately trained and there aren't enough of them, despite meeting state requirements. It's saddening that their commendable work isn't recognized, resulting in many talented workers leaving. A Family Council, created by the residents' families, has become the main source of updates. But sadly, the owners have repeatedly declined the council's requests for a meeting. The food quality fluctuates quite a bit, sometimes hinting towards budget limitations. The arranged activities have been largely unsatisfactory as well. A silver lining is the frequent visits by family members, many of whom live nearby. There's a lot of potential in SSQ, but so far, it's left us rather disappointed.

"Wonderful Experience at Symphony Square"

I went to Symphony Square on Sunday for a tour and met the CEO, . She gave me an amazing tour of your beautiful building, and I got to see Sunday's show. It was wonderful. Thank you for the great tour

"Fun and joy for everyone at Symphony Square!"

I visited Symphony Square of Bala-Cynwyd for a tour. When I got there, there was an amazing show for the residents. An Elvis impersonator was performing, and he was so entertaining! The residents were clapping and singing along. The staff was having a great time with everyone, too. It warmed my heart to see all the smiles on their faces. I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

"Clean and friendly assisted living worth considering for seniors nearby!"

We visited this place while searching for help for our family member. I liked how it looked and the people were friendly. It's clean and taken care of well. If you need a place for seniors, give them a look!

"Friendly Staff and Fun Activities, Needs Better Communication"

Overall, things have been good with Symphony Square! The staff are all very nice, and the place is clean and well-kept. They take good care of the residents and have a lot of activities to keep everyone entertained. They could improve their internal communications a bit; sometimes it takes a few tries for a request to reach the right person.

"Excited for the move to Symphony Square!"

I had a great experience with "A Place for Mom." It was very helpful and quick. The counselor asked good questions to understand what my parents needed and gave me a list of places that fit those needs. They set up tours, which saved me time and effort. I visited the facilities and got help comparing them and knowing what to look for. As an occupational therapist in home health, I know a lot, but it can be harder when it’s for your own family. The first place I toured was Symphony Square. I arrived a bit early on purpose, so I could relax in the nice sitting area and watch the dining room and how the staff interacted with residents. I talked to a resident who had just moved from my parents' area. He didn’t like living there at first, which I expected. But he said it was nice overall, and he thought the staff and food were great. That made me feel good. The staff gave me a wonderful tour and answered all my questions. I found their facility to be one of the best. I went back later and called Linda to ask about costs and details. She was always available and happy to help. When I visited with my parents and sister, everyone had a nice time. My parents loved the place and wanted to move in. My dad decided to let my mom move without him, but I gave him time to think about moving with her. We are set to move this week, and the whole process has been very easy. I’m sure everything will work out well.

"Beautiful but pricey; unsure about reputation."

This place is new, so I'm not really sure about its reputation yet. It's really nice looking, but it seems like it might be too expensive for how small the building and rooms are.
