"COVID Positives Impact Resident Care"
I think they’re having a tough time dealing with staff and residents who test positive for COVID. It’s making it harder for the staff to do their jobs. I believe this is mostly due to COVID-related issues. Overall, it’s affecting resident care. The last time I talked to a nurse, they said they were from an agency. Unfortunately, my loved one isn’t receiving medications on time.

"Morning-only activities, terrible meals, but great staff"
The activities are only in the morning, and I’m not a morning person. We’ve never had an off-site activity or a therapy animal visit, even though I’ve asked many times. I can’t control the temperature in my room. Today, the heat from the wall heater was 140 degrees and it was too hot to touch. The meals are terrible. Everything is too salty, and we often only get hot dogs or hamburgers. They put too much oregano and salt in every soup or stew. For instance, chicken soup with green beans and lima beans? There are no birthday celebrations, like giving everyone a cupcake at the end of the month. If it weren’t for the refrigerator in my room, I’d be starving. I had to buy Clorox cleaner to get rid of mold in the bathroom. However, the staff is amazing—they’re the nicest and hardest-working people. Sadly, there’s almost no one else to talk to.

"Caring Staff and Clean Facility, Location Not Perfect for Us"
She did a really great job. The place was super clean and looked after well. It's just that where it's situated isn't exactly what works best for my family. But that doesn't mean the people who work there aren't really nice and don't take good care of everyone.

"Needs Better Staff Communication"
Their organization at The Atrium, A Choice Community, needs work. It feels like one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. But overall, we've been happy with the place. I'd just like to see better communication among the staff.

"Communication Needs Improvement"
The Atrium, A Choice Community, needs to work on their organization skills. It seems like one part of the staff doesn't know what the other part is doing. Other than that, we have been pretty happy with this place. I just wish the staff members communicated better with each other.

"Facility: Great Location, but Understaffed for Resident Needs"
This assisted living facility is primarily staffed with overworked nursing assistants who, unfortunately, have too many residents to care for. Apparently, 22 is the supposed maximum they can manage, but when confronted, they just blame it on the state standards. What they don't do, though, is tell the state that a lot of the residents require more assistance than they can provide. This facility seems best suited for folks who can handle most of their own care needs. Some residents need full-time care, which isn't really provided here. The cost also doesn't align well with what the residents receive. However, the location is exceptional, especially loved by seniors who prefer downtown Johnstown. It's a real shame, because it's their biggest selling point.

"Mixed Experiences with Staff and Hygiene After 9-Day Stay"
My mom is back home after a 9-day stay. She mentioned that while some of the nurses were nice and easy to be around, others seemed grumpy and unhappy with their jobs. They often complained about their heavy workloads. This might be because there aren't enough staff members to care for all the residents. Also, some of the rooms had a strong smell of pee.

"Good care, but visits are infrequent and phone contact is tough"
The care services are tough for me to judge because I don’t visit often. We live in different states, so I can only see my mom every other month. I try to call her, but it’s hard to rate the staff that way since I can’t always reach them. When I do visit, my mom looks healthy, which is a good sign. She also participates in activities, so they must be decent.

"Mom's Doing Well"
I can't visit often since we live in different states, making it tough to judge care services. Phone calls don't always connect when needed. Mom appears healthy during visits, participates in activities.
