"Caring Staff and Clean Facility for Comfortable Senior Living"
The staff at the Birches is super friendly and really cares about the residents. They take time to get to know everyone they help and try their best to meet each person's needs. We picked the Birches because it's clean, they respond quickly, and it's in a good spot compared to other places.

"Assisted Living Center Offers Fun Activities and Cheerful Atmosphere"
I think it’s a great place to be. My sister enjoys being around people her age and having fun playing games, watching movies, and going on bus trips for lunch or just enjoying the scenery. Inside, it feels warm, bright, and cheerful.

"Good facility with friendly staff, but communication needs improvement"
This facility has been pretty good so far. The staff is very friendly, and the food is good with good quality and variety. My loved one has eaten in the dining room a few times, and it's really nice and clean. She mostly has her meals delivered to her room, though. Communication with the family could be better. It’s hard to get medical updates on my loved one. You have to ask for information yourself. They do respond when I call, but they don’t reach out unless I contact them first. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

"More Staff Needed, Overall Good Choice for Assisted Living"
We chose this community because when we visited, my loved one really liked it. I think there should be more staff on my loved one's floor. It's a good community. We feel like we made a good choice.

"Progressive and Caring"
Our parents moved to The Birches two years ago when they were too ill to move home on their own. The kitchenette makes it feel like an apartments, not just a room. Senior Physical Therapy Services on site was wonderful and helped Dad rehabilitate. Having a hair salon on site, and transport to Grand View Hospital are all big pluses . We felt the need to use CBD Oil to aid Dad with sleep issues and the administration was progressive enough to research and approve CBD oil use! Our family is so appreciative for their good care.

"[Amazing Service: [Removed] Made All the Difference!"
She was amazing! She reached out to me for months after a referral from A Place for Mom. I thought The Birches was too far away and planned to move my mom somewhere else. I was wrong about the distance, and we wasted valuable time. When my dad, sister, and I visited at the last minute, we loved it right away. I emailed multiple times a day with questions before my mom moved in. She always replied quickly and thoroughly. Without her help, my mom would be in a different place. She is the best and a huge asset to The Birches!

"Visited, But Not a Good Fit for Mom"
We visited this place and it was pretty good. Everyone was really nice. It was a clean and nice place to be. The people working there were also nice and helped answer my questions. But when they checked in on what my mom needed, they said she wouldn't fit in there. We ended up finding another place that works better for us.

"Great care and peace of mind for our family"
We want to share our family’s experience at the Birches over the last 9 months. My father moved there from Arbor Square when he needed more help with memory issues and medication. The best part for us was the great care he received in the "daybreak" area. We always felt he was well cared for by friendly and caring staff. It’s hard to choose just one caregiver because they were all great with Dad, and we felt lucky to have such a good team taking care of him, which gave us peace of mind. We were also impressed that every day the residents were dressed and out of their rooms, participating in activities. Special thanks to the amazing daybreak care team for everything you do every day.

"Not a bad place to live"
The people who work here are friendly and get things done efficiently. The place is kept clean. However, the food wasn't to our liking, and my husband's room layout wasn't great. The community is set up like a circle, but there aren't many places for him to walk around. On the bright side, the residents I met were friendly.

"Huge Thanks to the Caring Team at The Birches!"
There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for the care my father gets at The Birches. His health has had many ups and downs, and every time we go through another tough moment, The Birches has been there to support us and take care of him. I especially want to thank the nursing staff at The Birches. During a recent difficult time with my dad, one of the nurses was incredibly kind. She talked to him directly, making sure he felt important, even though she knew we were there too. Even though my dad’s health is declining, he gets both care and respect at The Birches. Thank you to everyone who works there you are all amazing and deeply appreciated.

"Great care and support for my parents at The Birches"
I moved my mom and dad to The Birches in Pennsylvania from across the country. My mom's illness turned out to be much worse than we first thought. I had trouble getting updates from the hospital once she was admitted. The staff at The Birches were incredibly helpful and guided me on what to do next when my mom needed to go to hospice. I took my dad home for a few days so we could handle my mom's hospital and hospice situation together. One staff member was really concerned when my dad left, worried that he wasn't happy with his care. My dad reassured him that we needed some family time to make tough decisions. He really liked the staff at The Birches, and they took great care of him.

I couldn't have asked for a better place for my dad. This community is amazing, and I'm really happy with everything they've done for us. It's clean and looks great. He joins a few activities each week and really enjoys them. He says the food is okay but could be better. They take great care of my dad, and I would recommend this place.

"Fantastic Care and Fun at The Birches of Arbour Square!"
We've had a fantastic experience at The Birches of Arbour Square! The staff here is friendly and professional, always ready to help us and make things easier. They really get to know each resident as a unique person. They offer a lot of cool amenities and activities. They joked that my parents might be too busy to see us, and they weren’t kidding! My parents are so involved with the community that it’s sometimes hard to find them in their room. The food is great too, with lots of choices! We’re really happy with the care they provide. They’ve been excellent with my dad’s memory care needs, and my mom finally feels at ease knowing all the medication and daily care are taken care of. The only small issue is that they don’t have outings or bus trips as often as we were led to believe, but this might be due to the weather or season. Overall, it’s a wonderful place, and we’re really glad we found it! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for senior care in the area.

"Staff Engagement Needs Improvement"
The Birches of Arbour Square could be cleaner. The toilet isn't always spotless, and there are a few other cleanliness issues. However, my loved one enjoys the food. I wish she would participate in more activities outside her room. She only goes down for meals. It would be nice if the staff tried harder to involve her. Overall, it's been a decent experience.

"Life is a bowl of Cheerios!"
Ever since my mom arrived at The Birches, she's been in a really nice place. Even at 100 years old, she takes pride in her well-being and appreciates the care she receives. The nursing staff and management are helpful, but as a family member or friend, it's crucial to stay involved and watch for any changes in health or attitude. We need to seek financial guidance to ensure long-term support because, for many, the money might run out before the resident does.

"Care, Cleanliness, and Happiness"
My mother has been at Birches for several months now, and I couldn't be happier with the care she's getting. The place is always neat and clean, the staff is polite, considerate, and super helpful, and my mom loves the food! Moving her from her home of 63 years to The Birches was a great experience, thanks to the staff. It turned out to be much easier than I expected. My mom is making friends, enjoying various activities, and taking full advantage of this lovely facility. She's happy, well cared for, and enjoying this new stage of her life.

"Great Care"
I don't see any areas for improvement here. We liked this place because it's close to home and provides the right level of care for our loved one. Having speech, occupational, and physical therapists is great. The activities are well-suited for most residents, and the bus trips with scenic views are a nice touch.

"A Cozy, Lively Community with Both Care Options"
This place was one of our top picks and very similar to the one we eventually chose, though it wasn’t as convenient for us. The atmosphere here was fantastic and felt more like a cozy hotel than an institution. They offer both assisted living and memory care, which was great because it meant the community was lively, and Mom wasn’t ready for just a memory care facility yet.

"Good support, but initial adjustments were tough"
My dad had some trouble adjusting at first due to other guests and how the women acted. They were really trying to direct him too much, which made him upset. Once he got used to it, he was fine; he just doesn’t like being told what to do. The staff were helpful, though I had to remind them a few times to clean his room properly. I tried to get him to attend some of the events on the balcony, but his participation depended on his mood. He had a good sized room with a dresser and plenty of closet space. They did offer for us to bring our own bed, but it was easier to use the one they provided.
