"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
More vacuuming needed in rooms and hallways. Overall, staff friendly. Care generally good despite COVID challenges. LPN responsiveness could improve. Dining quality is high, staff very helpful. Activities enjoyable; Christmas show a hit. PT and OT services excellent. Nurse practitioner thorough and accommodating, much appreciated.

"Needs More Staff for High-Care Residents"
I wouldn’t suggest The Birches at Newtown if your relative needs a lot of help with daily stuff. My mom needed more care (level 4) and they didn’t have enough people to help her when she needed it. The meals were pretty tasty, and the activities were just alright. Even though they said there would be trips outside, I didn’t see any in the two months my mom was there. Cleaning was okay. It’s not the best place for someone who’s still sharp and wants to make friends. My mom had a tough time finding people she could relate to there.

"Safe, caring environment, convenient location, pleasant facility; highly recommended."
I would recommend this place to others. My parents feel safe and well taken care of here. We chose it mainly because of the convenient location, which is excellent. The facility is pleasant, and the staff are all very kind.

"Outstanding experience touring Birches Assisted Living Facility"
I had set up a meeting with [Name removed] from the Birches in Newtown for us to check out the place with my grandma, who's 95. As soon as we walked into the Birches, it was obvious they really cared about their residents and their building. It was truly astounding! The place was wonderfully maintained and decorated, and very inviting. [Name removed] showed us around at a nice pace, introduced us to some folks living there, and also checked out the cool stuff the Birches provides. Plus, she spent some extra time answering our questions, and was kind enough to give us a peek inside a few residents' rooms, of course, with their consent. I truly wish my grandma decides to make the move to the Birches. I'm certain she'll fit right in and she'd love hanging out with the other residents and doing all sorts of fun stuff the Birches offers. Plus, if every staff member is as sweet and friendly as [Name removed], that'd be the cherry on top!

The Birches does an AMAZING job with their activities! My mom always shares stories about going to programs that she absolutely loved. Cheers to whoever is running things there. The whole staff is just awesome.

"In need of medicaid pay facility"
I contacted the Birches as I am trying to relocate my parents to Bucks County. Both have differing needs...one is personal care/private pay while the other is skilled nursing/medicaid. Of course, I want them at the same facility. Upon talking to the Director of Marketing, I found that Birches is private pay only. Typically, when a facility did not take medicaid as an option for one parent; the conversation stopped there. I live in Southern California, so coordinating this from across the country has not been the easiest of endeavors. She took the time out of her day to send me a list of potential facilities in the area that could meet our needs. I can not even begin to tell you what a huge help this was, particularly as I do not live there and am not familiar with the facilities. These decisions are always rather stressful, and the fact that she did this act of service with no benefit aside from sheer kindness was truly a light in this process. It only further underscores that the Birches is indeed worthy of its recognition and praise, thus why I had contacted you in the first place. Thank you again. I am very grateful.

"Affordable and Supportive Memory Care with Great Location and Staff"
This place is the best we've found for my mother-in-law's budget. She pays very little, which is rare for memory care. It's only a 15-minute drive from us, which is super convenient. She's doing well there. The staff is friendly, though we had a little trouble communicating at first. But that's all sorted out now. Her rehab is going well, and they keep me updated on her progress. She likes the food and enjoys the activities. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

"Great Tour, Not Quite Right Fit"
I really liked visiting this community. The staff were punctual and showed us around well. The floor plan and amenities were awesome, but it wasn't the perfect fit for my loved one.

"Mixed Feelings: Not Quite Right for Mom's Needs"
I went on a tour of this place. The lady who showed us around was really professional. The place was nice and tidy. It was alright, but I didn't feel like it's the right fit for my mom and what she needs.

"Good community, wanted private room, friendly staff, close to home."
The Birches was pretty good. They only had one shared room when we visited, but we wanted a private one. The physical therapy department was big, and everyone we talked to was really nice. We might have picked this place if there was one closer to our home for about the same price.

"Caring Community"
My mom’s doing really well here at this place. They take good care of her and meet her needs. I like that there are plenty of aides available. The staff is awesome—super helpful and kind. They organize fun activities for the residents. We’re happy with her move here; she’s in good hands. I feel comfortable with the care they provide. It’s a lovely community, and I’d recommend it.

"The Birches is a welcoming community!"
I had a great tour of the assisted living facility. The staff were friendly and polite, and the community felt comfortable and beautiful. They even had an excellent exercise program with Fox rehabilitation. The only downside was the long wait list.

"Be Alert: Deception Abounds at The Birches of Newtown!"
The talk-up for The Birches of Newtown's memory care unit is really impressive! My excitement for my parent to stay there quickly turned to complete letdown! The night crew needs serious improvement! Residents aren't protected and active, and it seems like the attendants are seated more than they're on the move! You end up paying for extra services that just aren't given! The TV area doesn't have proper seating like the independent living zone! It makes you wonder why, doesn't the memory care unit deserve a nice spot to watch TV? Not once have there been tablecloths on the dining tables in the memory care unit, and the kitchen stays unkempt! If your folks have moderate functioning, this program has no room for them! Their sales sweet talk is full of deception, so don't let them trick you during your visit! They're really crafty in that regard! PLEASE WATCH OUT!!!

"Pleasant Visit to The Birches at Newtown, PA"
I went there last Monday and it seemed pretty nice. I took a tour. Overall, it was good, but there was a strong smell near the entrance to the memory unit that stayed around. During the tour, I noticed lots of good interactions between the residents and the staff.

"Looks like a good spot"
We went to check out this place for our family member's care. We couldn't explore much at The Birches because they were full when we visited. Still, it seemed nice overall. Other families in the area might want to consider it.

"Great Care and Dignity at The Birches in Newtown"
The Birches in Newtown is a fantastic place with amazing caregivers. My 97-year-old aunt stayed there for a short time, but she was very well cared for. I was always updated on her condition, and she seemed happy there. Even though she had dementia and poor memory, she was included in activities and treated with respect and dignity. I live far from Newtown, PA, but I felt reassured knowing she was in good hands.

"Improving Assisted Living Experience"
Our time at The Birches at Newtown has been way better than the previous place for our loved one! It looks nice, very clean, and they've made it feel cozy. The community feels like a big family, and the staff are friendly and make everyone feel welcome. However, since it's new, they have some problems to figure out, like the room locks being too easy to use and causing trouble for memory care residents. Laundry service can be a hassle, and they're having issues with aggressive residents lately. Still, the staff are great and trying their best, and I think things will get better over time.
