"Steer Clear of Harmony of West Shore: It's Terrible"
Let me just say, that I wouldn't suggest Harmony of West Shore to anyone. People must know just how terrible it is.

"Integration process disorganized, facility nice otherwise."
The process for new residents is disorganized, nice facility otherwise.

"Good choice but needs staff improvements and better food"
Harmony is a good choice compared to rehab facilities or nursing homes. However, there are a few things they need to improve. They seem to be short on staff in dining and care, especially during evening shifts. Also, every resident I talked to wasn’t happy with the food.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The workers are nice. Cleaning could be better. Rooms and common areas, especially the dining room, aren't very clean. It'd be good to hire more workers. Food isn't great, doesn't look or taste good. They should use better ingredients. Servers are nice but they have too much to do. It'd be good to hire more workers and pay them more. Sometimes they mess up bills and pay late. I might recommend this place, but I have some concerns.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Great Food!"
The folks at Harmony at West Shore are super friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping is good (we had a tiny hiccup on move-in day, but they fixed it). The move-in process had a few bumps due to staff changes, but overall, it was positive. My parents love the food—it's excellent and there's plenty of it. I'd totally recommend Harmony at West Shore to others!

"Good Experience, Some Mistakes, Still Recommend Harmony at West Shore"
We gave Harmony at West Shore a 4 out of 5 because they've had some mistakes, but based on our experience, we still recommend the community to others.

"Mother Escapes Repeatedly from Understaffed and Insecure Facility"
We initially chose Harmony because it was a new facility with a good patient-to-staff ratio. But once everything started, the experience changed completely. Most of the time, they are short-staffed, and the staff they do have are always engrossed in their cell phones, not properly supervising the residents. My mom experienced a terrible accident there, despite being in secured memory care. She somehow managed to slip out multiple times. After her last ordeal that led to hospitalization, we decided to move her for her safety. Strangely, my mother went unnoticed for almost 3 hours before anyone realized she was missing. It was another resident who informed the staff. Suspiciously, the security cameras were down and the door to the outside was broken, hence unlocked. This was not new, as they were aware of this issue for 2 months before my mom's escapade. Don't be blinded by the flashy new stuff—prioritize the care your loved ones will receive.

"Disappointed Geriatric Nurse Decries Poor Conditions at Harmony West Shore"
I do not have enough space here to detail everything, but thank God I found a different place other than Harmony At West Shore's memory care unit for my mom recently. I've worked as a nurse for elderly people for more than 30 years and with my honest word, I declare this as the worst memory care unit I've ever encountered. They don't have enough staff for the level of care which the residents need. I received practically no updates whenever my mom's health worsened or her status changed. At one point, a delay of 4 to 5 days happened in carrying out Hospice doctor's orders which led to my mom suffering. There is a massive communication gap between the staff and the families relying on them for their loved ones' care. There's nothing but disgrace on those managing and operating this facility right now.

"Good food and friendly staff, but needs more activities."
We picked Harmony at West Shore because it’s close to us and the least expensive option we found. They could offer more activities, but the food is great. You can eat with your loved one or bring in food anytime. Everyone here is really helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend them to others.

"Nice place, but Covid rules were too relaxed"
The tour at Harmony at West Short was good, and I thought it was a nice place. We didn’t choose it because they didn’t seem very strict about Covid rules at the time. Other than that, it seemed like a fine place.

"Nice Rooms, But Communication Delays with Medicine Management"
We like the rooms at Harmony because they are big and nice. But sometimes it takes a while for staff to communicate with family members. This has been a problem for us, especially when it comes to managing medicines.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The director is great and cares about residents. Some staff are excellent, while others are just okay. More activities for residents would be nice. The dining hall food is good, but memory care meals need improvement.
