"Purpose-built with charm, uneven staffing, advocate for residents"
It's a purpose-built care facility with old-world charm. Move-in was seamless. Housekeeping: no complaints. Some slow responses to maintenance. Dining services are good. Staffing is uneven; new director is nice. Communication lacking; advocate for loved ones.

"Mixed Feelings About Devon Senior Living"
Devon Senior Living is in a good location with a nice building. The staff is friendly, and communication is okay. But I expected better day-to-day care. I'd suggest it to a friend, but there are areas needing improvement. It's my first time with a loved one in a facility, so I've learned a lot.

"Supportive staff, charming, needs more events, diverse activities"
Devon was the perfect fit for my loved one. The nursing staff was very supportive, personable, and caring. The administrative team was accessible, responsive, and committed. The food improved with a new chef. The place has a refined Main Line Philadelphia feel. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. We are very grateful for the support they gave my loved one after their accident. New management plans to improve the facility while keeping its historical charm. They should add more outside events and trips now that the pandemic is over. In-house activities are varied and diverse. The facility could use some upgrades.

"Great progress and outstanding support even after loss!"
This team has made great progress and is working hard to rebuild the community. Everyone is super friendly, very helpful, and provides excellent customer service. Even after my mother passed, they still check in, making them feel like part of my extended family. Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do!

"Cozy, caring facility in historic building, highly recommended."
I was very happy with the care my mother got at The Devon. Her room was cozy, spacious, and cleaned every day. The whole staff made sure to get to know her and kept in touch with me regularly. They were all so kind and attentive that I felt good about her being there. I visited often and saw how they cared for other residents with different needs. The attention my mother received wasn’t just a one-time thing. Everyone seemed happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. The Devon is a small place in a beautiful, historic building. It doesn’t feel like a big institution but more like a “home.” They offer many activities that keep residents engaged and active. I highly recommend The Devon if you want a smaller, cozy assisted living place for yourself or a loved one. It’s a great choice compared to the larger communities in the area.

"Unsatisfactory Facility: Aged, Dirty, Smelly with Disinterested Staff"
The place was not what I'd pick. Everything seemed aged and unclean. There was a stench of urine all around. It seemed like there weren't enough staff, and they didn't look enthusiastic about their work.

"Memory care at Devon Senior Living meets changing dementia needs well."
I'm very happy with Devon Senior Living and their memory care unit. They take great care of my mom. While there can be a smell, especially on weekends, I understand. Different stages of dementia affect how these units feel; initially, locked-down areas seemed bleak with little activity. At that time, my mom wasn't ready for them. Sadly, her condition has progressed, and now the memory center suits her well. She thrived in the main area for quite a while.

"Poor Quality Care and Insincere Responses in Assisted Living Facility"
Terrible! Nobody should be sent to this place! The memory care unit is absolutely unacceptable. It's dirty, lacks a care plan, and there's inadequate supervision. We saw all the terrible reviews and decided to ignore them! Look behind their facade!!! All the responses to negative reviews from DSL are identical. It's insulting that the administration even bothers to respond to these reviews. Actions are far more telling than responses. Check out many other websites for more unsatisfactory reviews.

"Terribly Neglected Memory Care Unit: Deep Regrets for Choosing Facility"
The memory care unit at this facility is terrible! People need to stand up for those who can't speak for themselves. We deeply regret ever choosing this place for our loved one and we wouldn't wish it on anyone else. The glowing 5-star ratings don't reflect what's really going on in the memory care unit! The entire facility constantly reeks of urine. The carpets are filthy, dirty diapers and discarded gloves litter the floors, and there are no activities to keep residents engaged. Inhabitants are left to watch TV for hours on end with no interaction. They look neglected and unclean, and it seems like there's no regular bathing routine. On top of that, there aren't enough clean linens for the beds. The fancy display in the main room of the memory care unit is a sham, designed just to make the place sellable. The leadership does nothing but talk, without taking real action. There's no accountability, particularly from the administration. We should've paid attention to the few negative reviews we read in the past. I don't want a response from the administration to this review. Their deeds will mean more than any words they can say.

"A Horrible Place: Not Recommended for Elderly Care"
This place is flat-out terrible. It reeks of pee all the time. There's folks in the halls just blankly staring at nothing. The staff only bother with the residents whenever there's family around. The nursing here is outright awful. I wouldn't wish living here on my worst enemy, let alone recommend it to families looking for a place for their loved ones. It's horrendous through and through.

"Consider Other Options for Aging Loved Ones"
This facility works great for healthy seniors. The social aspect is rated positively. However, for my parent, whose health deteriorated quickly, I don't recommend it for anyone over eighty-five, especially those with physical or mental conditions. While they have effective salespeople, they oversell their services a bit. Keep in mind, it's a big place and it's easy for someone to be overlooked. If you have to place an elder here, the area on the ground level for the more impaired is most suitable for older folks." .

"Improvements Needed for Facility Cleanliness"
Our tour of this senior living facility left us feeling underwhelmed. The workers there were nice to us and super friendly, but the place was not clean at all. They really need to do a better job keeping things tidy. We just didn't feel right about having my mother-in-law stay there.

"Everything is going great for Mom!!"
Everything is going really well for my mom here. She has adjusted great, and we’re really happy with everything. The community is clean, and the staff has been welcoming and helpful. They’re also very attentive and willing to accommodate her needs. She’s trying out new activities, and there are plenty to pick from. She enjoys the food, and I’ve tasted it—meals are really good. They take great care of her, and I would definitely recommend this place.

"We are really happy!"
It’s a perfect place compared to where she was. We are really happy. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean. They take her outside, and she gets showers and her hair combed. Things are so much better now. They were willing to help me, and they did a great job getting her back to life. I didn’t think we could afford it, but we could, and everyone is so nice. Jules is really wonderful.

"Pleasant, but Lacked Cheer"
We visited this community while exploring care options for our loved one. It appeared pleasant, and the staff seemed skilled and professional. I believe our loved one would have been secure here. The facility was clean and well-maintained, but lacked a cheerful atmosphere on the inside.

"Everything is great! They really care for everyone!"
We loved them! Everything was great. They hung up the pictures and provided everything we needed. They are very responsive and keep everything clean. Even from out of state, the communication with our family is great. The size of the apartment is huge, and the service is truly wonderful. They make everyone feel really special.

"Friendly Staff and Good Value for Money"
Sometimes the food is great (like a four out of five), but other days it's just okay (more like a two). I visit almost every day. The community has a nice outdoor area for residents, and the staff is super friendly. No complaints about their service, and overall, it's a good value for the money.

"Inconsistent Care and Lack of Communication Frustrates Families"
My Mom lived in this place for more than three years. The building and her room were okay. Yet, the family needs to keep an eye on things like ensuring the care schedule is followed, like bathing routines, and checking up on the staff and the doctor. Overall, this place could do with better supervision. It's got just ONE doctor who doesn't talk directly to the family. If you visit on a Sunday, you might be upset to find out that your Mom's care isn't consistent.

"Frustration grows at Devon Senior Living over lack of communication"
Only two days into our stay at Devon Senior Living and my mom gets booted out and taken to the hospital by a nurse. My sister has tried twice to reach out to the big boss there, asking why Mom was ousted and if we'll get our money back. It's almost been a full week and we've heard nothing back. If they keep ignoring us, we'll report them to the Better Business Bureau.

"Jules made the whole experience feel perfect!"
Jules at Devon Senior Living is amazing. This was the first facility we toured, and we had no idea what to expect or what to ask. Jules spent two hours with us, answering questions, showing us around, and telling us the history of the building. The warmth from the residents when we entered was something we didn’t feel at any other place we visited. I thought I might be disappointed because the building is older, but the new parts blend in perfectly, making it feel like home. The Memory Care unit is truly special, with thoughtful care and good-sized rooms. I was impressed that none of the Memory Ward rooms have showers since we worry about Mom falling. The common areas are spacious, with beautiful views, and the whole place feels clean, safe, and nurturing. We’re confident this is the right place for Mom, and we feel at peace with our decision.

The food is good, and she hasn’t complained at all. I checked out about eight other places, but this one had the best price, biggest units, and the staff was wonderful. Jules, the sales person, was amazing. She treated me and my mom so well, and she was really professional the whole time.

"Devon Sr Living Review"
Finding a place for our mom with dementia was tough. The staff was caring and understanding, making the process easier. The rooms were spacious and fees reasonable. The building's old but clean. The staff treated our mom like family, and activities were fun. Consider Devon Sr Living if you're on a budget. Make sure your loved one gets the care they need.

"Unimpressed by Overcrowded, Dark Facility – Lacks Community Vibe."
Really wasn't a fan of this place - it's just too spread out across too many levels. It's got narrow corridors and the rooms are super tiny. Hardly spotted any residents hanging out in shared spaces. It also lacks natural light and a general sense of harmony.

"Catholic Priest, Apartment Options and Pricing, With Amenities"
A Catholic priest visits for mass. One-bedroom and suite apartments are up for rent. It costs $4400 a month for one bedroom and $4000 a month for a suite. There's a laundry area on every floor that you can use yourself. The cost covers your meals and cable TV but not your phone. There's no 90-day limit on getting temporary care.
