Wellington at Hershey's Mill

"The community declined, broken promises, nice apartments, no car struggles."
I used to really like this community two years ago, but it has gotten worse. The cost went up by about [amount] per month last year and this year. The food quality is just okay, not great. They promised spring cleaning every year (curtains, windows, carpet), but it doesn’t happen! Talking to management hasn’t helped. The apartments are spacious, and the decorations are nice. It’s a pleasant area, but it’s tough without a car.

"Spacious Rooms and Nice Amenities"
Managing Director did an excellent job convincing my parents to move into this facility. They chose Wellington at Hershey’s Mill mainly because the rooms are spacious and the amenities are nice. I highly recommend it to others.

"Friendly Staff and Great Meals at Wellington!"
The staff here is super friendly and outgoing. Sometimes they seem a bit short-staffed, but that happens everywhere. The meals are awesome, with lots of variety. The only thing they could improve is transportation availability. Overall, we recommend the Wellington at Hershey’s Mill community.

"Good experience despite COVID-related staffing issues."
To make a long story short, we moved my parents into Wellington quickly after my father's accident. He had been my mother's main caretaker. After visiting several facilities, we found Wellington to be the best. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating is due to occasional staffing issues caused by COVID. Overall, it's been a good experience. My parents are as happy as they can be, considering they moved from their home of many years.

"Inadequate Staff and Negligence at Assisted Living Facility"
This place falls short of satisfactory. Don't be swayed by the charming promises made by the person who shows you around. They hardly have enough staff, and out of the few they have, most are extremely unfriendly, unkind, and don't seem to care about their jobs or the people living there. My mom has asked for help many times, and once she waited for over an hour. The manager doesn't address concerns; he just hands them off to a nurse who doesn't fix them. We regret not choosing any of the other places we considered for my mom.

"Great Meals and Comfortable Living at Wellington"
I chose Wellington at Hershey's Mill because it gave me the space I needed for the price and it’s where I used to live. I talked to a lot of people who were happy here, so I decided to try it, and it turned out fine. They had an end-of-year deal, and I got a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment for a good price. The food here is really good, with chef-prepared meals. You fill out a form with what you want to eat and put it in a basket. They have a lot of variety, and every meal I’ve had has been wonderful. You can get it as takeout or eat in the dining room, which has a dress code that doesn’t allow denim. They are going through some administrative changes right now, and when I first moved in, I had to figure things out on my own because they didn’t provide instructions. I think having instructions would be helpful.

I had a good experience here. The place is clean, staff friendly, but communication could improve. Food is great, and they offer activities.
