"Woodcliffe Manor: A Mixed Bag, But Overall Satisfactory"
My mom lived at Woodcliffe Manor's Dementia Unit for about 7 years. Then in 2010, we moved my mother-in-law there after she had several strokes and congestive heart failure. Woodcliffe isn't perfect, but they try to be kind and helpful to both residents and families. The meals change a lot because they've had different cooks recently. Some of our friends have also had to find housing for their parents, and the issues Woodcliffe Manor faces—like staff turnover and confusion about care—are unfortunately common for Personal Care Homes. Overall, we've been happy with Woodcliffe Manor.

"Feels Like Home with Caring Staff"
My mom stayed at Woodcliffe Manor for 3 1/2 years. The staff was always friendly, helpful, and took care of her needs as she went through Alzheimer's. My dad visited every day, and my brother and I visited at least once a week. We got to know the staff well and saw the great care they gave the residents. We were very happy with the care, attention, and companionship my mom received. I also really appreciate how they treated my dad when he visited. They helped him through a tough time. The place isn't the fanciest, but it feels like home as soon as you walk in.

"Wonderful Care and Activities for Loved Ones"
My time at Woodcliffe was amazing. The staff was super kind to my dad. He stayed there for 9 months. They always kept him busy with fun activities and trips. I couldn’t have chosen a better place for my dad in his last days. I would tell anyone looking for a place for their parent or loved one to choose Woodcliffe.”

"From Praise to Disapproval: Woodcliffe Manor's Care Quality Declines"
Updated February 2016 Woodcliffe Manor is now on their THIRD TEMPORARY LICENSE. A temporary license is given by the state due to poor services and repeated unaddressed violations. Other medical institutions and family members shouldn't subject people to this kind of care. Keep this in mind and don't let anyone you care about end up in this facility. Updated September 2014: I once wrote the review "smaller can be better." But after three and a half months, I had to move my mom to a different place. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone, no matter what. Services that recommend facilities shouldn't suggest ones with a temporary license. June 2014: Woodcliffe Manor is different from the big Alzheimer's units I've seen in Florida and Pennsylvania. They provide all the medical and mental care that my mom needs, in a comfortable, homelike setting. They even take care of her dog, 'Lucky,' who means the world to her. My mom doesn't need fancy lights or big dining areas; she needs a personal touch in a homey setting. Their Alzheimer's unit is small, only 8 rooms, but the rooms are big enough for my mom's things. The staff to resident ratio is much better here than in larger places. Some big places don't even know each other's names, let alone the resident's names. The all-inclusive price was a nice surprise. There are no extra charges for level of care and laundry and cable are included. Big thanks to Holly at A Place for Mom and Tracy at Woodcliffe Manor. I couldn't have managed without you.

"Shocked by Dark, Cold & Uncaring Elderly Home Conditions"
This assisted living facility was absolutely awful! It looked like an ancient, crumpled house. I could never ever dream of prepping meals for my family in that old-fashioned kitchen, which felt like a throwback to the early 1900s. The environment was chilly and gloomy, which is terrifying. The carpets were so badly beaten, before me lay a sad sight of tired rooms with little to no privacy. Beds were just dumped in corners with no thought. And it wasn't just sad, it was disgusting - I wouldn't be surprised if rats ran through the hallways. It was like a grim scene where you abandon your elderly and never visit again. The place was dark, uncaring, and cold.
