"Great Experience at The Oaks at Charleston"
My loved one stayed at Oaks at Charleston, and almost everything was really good for her! The experience was great. The Oaks was wonderful to us. I would, and have, recommended this place to others.

"Concerns with Staff and Transportation at The Oaks Assisted Living"
There have been some aides who were really mean, don't want to help residents, and even said to one resident, you don't need help. Every time I bring up issues like this to [names removed], they've been great about trying to fix things. They either get rid of bad workers or have meetings. They really listen to complaints and work hard to fix problems. They are excellent at what they do and truly care. But I'm worried because we might not have a bus driver anymore to take residents to doctor's appointments. When we chose The Oaks, we liked that they had transportation. Now there's a rumor that they might not replace the bus driver who left. They might even stop all transportation later this year. To stay competitive with other assisted living places, they should keep offering rides to doctors.

"Needs Improvement in Medication and Payments"
I’d say to a buddy, keep searching. We chose this place 'cause the cost seemed right, and it all appeared awesome. I’m pleased with the help the Rep at A Place for Mom gave me. But besides that, they gotta get better at handling meds and how they take payments.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Communication Room for Improvement"
This place has been nice for our family and our loved one. The staff are friendly and helpful. Communication could be better, especially when we have questions about the memory care side. They provide three meals a day, and offer services like medication management and hygiene assistance.

"Friendly, Affordable Assisted Living"
We chose this community because it felt right. [Name removed] from A Place for Mom helped us find an affordable facility. Everyone is friendly, but memory loss can be challenging.

"Family Ignored by Assisted Living Staff"
The workers at the place don’t answer our emails, calls, or messages. We can’t get any replies from the people in charge or the ones who take care of us.

"Not Stellar, But Adequate Assisted Living Facility"
They shouldn't have accepted my mom; she needed more care than they could provide. She wasn't mobile, and they seemed to do the bare minimum. I didn't see much staff interaction during my visit. It's not stellar, but it might be adequate for some.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The head doctor was hard to talk to. She never called back. The people in the office were mean. I found out a neighbor of my family member was having parties with alcohol and people who didn't live there. But many of the workers were nice.
