There’s often a disconnect between management and daily operations at the facility. My father tested positive for Covid, but I was never informed. The facility has high turnover, with over 15 people leaving in 6 months. Despite a price increase, the level of care didn’t improve much. Be cautious before deciding.

"Memory Care Unit with Friendly Staff and Spacious Rooms"

This is the Memory Care part, so activities are more limited. There are enough caregivers for the residents. The staff has been very friendly and respectful. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. I would recommend this place to others!

"Kelly at the Parker was great to work with."

They helped us a lot at the beginning, even though it was an unusual situation. Kelly at the Parker was really helpful and understanding. She did her best to keep me informed!

"Beautiful facility, but poor care and broken promises"

When we first visited The Parker, it seemed really nice and affordable. They told us about all the great things they would offer. Even though it was affordable, the care was not good and they didn’t do what they promised. They didn’t clean the rooms, which was a big problem. Families had to clean the rooms themselves, but with all the money we paid, we thought cleaning should be included. The staff wasn't very attentive either. Some days, they would ask if she wanted to eat or shower, and if she said no, they just left her. The nursing staff is young and inexperienced and didn’t engage much with the residents. We had a few meetings about this, but nothing changed. The facility is beautiful, but after moving in and starting our daily routine, it was not a good experience for our family.

"Smaller Memory Care Unit Fosters Personal Connections"

I really like that the memory care unit is smaller, so the caregivers can truly get to know all the residents. I’d suggest The Parker to other families looking for memory care.

"Great Value and Friendly Staff at The Parker Assisted Living"

We picked The Parker because it’s affordable and close to us and family. The staff impressed us from the start. Everyone is super friendly and ready to help. Our only worry is that sometimes it’s hard to reach someone by phone; it goes straight to voicemail. But overall, we would suggest this place to other families.

"Improved Assisted Living Facility with Initial Challenges"

This place is really nice. It's one of the better options around here for the price. We had some issues at the beginning, but things have improved a lot now.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Decent Food"

We picked The Parker because it was affordable and looked nice during our tour. The food is decent in the assisted living area, but not as good in memory care. Overall, I’d recommend The Parker.

"Needs Improvement: More Staff, Better Care"

When you put a loved one in The Parker, you’ve got to stand up for them to make sure they receive the care they deserve. Don’t just expect everything to be taken care of. You need to be there, making sure they get what they pay for and what they need. The place doesn’t have enough workers. It’s a beautiful and tidy place, but they’re slow to respond and the care isn’t great. If I could choose again, I wouldn’t pick this place for her. It’s pretty quiet around here. All you see are shut doors and nobody’s really out, doing stuff.

"Selected another facility for its professional nursing care"

This assisted living facility lacks proper medical staff. The med techs onsite aren't equipped to offer nursing services. They were very unprofessional in their conduct. A few residents I interacted with had an unpleasant smell of urine. After a careful search, we ended up choosing The Woodland at Furman. There, the staff is made up of licensed RNs and LPNs. They also have CNAs as assistants. The food there is top-notch. Plus, management is always accessible whenever you need them.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"

I enjoyed the place, but it's better suited for people who can live independently. I'm unsure if it's right for my mom.

"Clean and Friendly Place!"

When I toured Brookdale Cleveland Park, I saw that the place is very clean and well-kept. Everyone I met there was really friendly. I don't remember anything bad about the place. We chose another community only because we started looking out of state.

"Satisfied with Mom's New Home; Clean, Friendly, and Safe"

I'm happy with this place for my mom. Everything's going smoothly, and I feel comfortable with her here. It's a nice-looking place, and they keep it clean. The staff is really good too. They're new, but they're doing a good job. I've tried some of the food, and it's good. Mom's adjusting to the routine here. I feel like she's safe and well taken care of. A Place for Mom was great in suggesting this place.

"Facility Prioritizes Profit, Neglects Resident Care and Stability"

My mom has been at Cleveland Park Homewood for over two years now. In this time, every single worker's role has switched up, and the top boss has changed a whole bunch of times (I can't even keep track). The only person who stayed was the sales manager, and now he's gone too. The medical help we were told we'd get and paid extra for? Not there. No doctor has come by weekly like they said. When emergencies happen, they don't have a doctor on-site. Instead, my mom gets rushed to the hospital. This constant switching is hard for my mom because she has dementia. Over the past year, I've had to hire a personal caregiver on top of the expensive fees we already pay to Homewood. It looks clear to me that this place cares more about their money than the people living there.

"Consider Different Places: Staff Lacking in Care and Courtesy"

We're pretty upset with this place. The staff isn't taking care of things like they're supposed to. Sure, they have activities she likes, but the staff is rude and won't listen when I talk about what's bothering me. I think other families should check out different places before picking this one.

"High Prices, Low Care: A Disappointing Assisted Living Facility"

My mom and dad both live in this assisted living facility, but the care they get isn't what we expected. It seems like they care more about the money than the actual living conditions of the people there. More often than we'd like, my parents weren't given their meals, no one checked in on them, and necessary medical supplies weren't ordered like they said they would be. The list is endless. I regret sending them there and, if I had another chance, I'd choose a different place. I'll probably move them out in the coming month. Unless your loved one doesn't need medical care, it's best to find somewhere else. The price doesn't match the level of care they provide.

"Great Assisted Living Facility!"

The facility was great! The staff knew a lot and were helpful. I would have liked my mom to be there, but she picked a smaller community.

"Clean, friendly staff considered for loved one."

I visited this place while deciding where my family member could stay. The building was really clean and tidy, and everyone I talked to was nice and knew what they were doing. We decided to go with a different place in the end, but I would've definitely thought about this one too for my family member.

So far, our experience has been wonderful. The team at Homewood at Cleveland has been amazing, helping us get Dad settled and comfortable. They’ve been super helpful with all the paperwork and great at keeping up with any questions we have. Overall, it's been a great experience, and Dad is happy!

"Homewood: A Caring, Comfortable Place That Feels Like Home"

My husband's first 24 hours at Homewood were fantastic! The staff welcomed him with open arms and made sure he felt at home. They always go above and beyond, responding quickly and professionally to any request. I'm so happy we found a place that truly cares and excels in every way. It's such a relief to have found a place that feels just like HOME.

"Clean, cheerful atmosphere with friendly staff and flexible options"

This community is set up for independent living, but everything is a la carte. I really liked it here. We chose a different place in the end, which we’re happy with, but if we hadn’t, this would’ve been our next choice. The place was clean, bright, and cheerful, and the staff seemed really friendly and helpful.

"Impressive Facility with Accommodating Staff"

We really liked the place and the people working there. We saw a studio on the first floor, which is great because we can't use stairs during fire drills right now.

"Nice Place but Not Happy with Layout Requiring Elevator"

The place is really nice. I'm not too thrilled that there are three floors she has to navigate which requires the use of an elevator. Additionally, the dining room is situated on the ground floor or basement, so if she's not staying on that level, she'll need to use the elevator.
