"Elderly Man Suffers and Dies at Neglected Care Home"
My grandpa, who's 85 years old, stayed at the GHS/PRISMA Health system. He fell and had medical issues that the facility could not identify. He was there for an entire month. After that, we moved him to an assisted living home he had been at before, but we didn't realize how much it had changed. Perhaps due to the Covid shutdown, my grandpa probably felt like an abandoned kitten at a fire station. Merely two or three days later, he had to reach out to us for help because that terrible place has no phones or call buttons for nurses. He phoned us for assistance, and we called for an ambulance to transport him to Easley Baptist, associated with Prisma Health. We alerted our kids and rushed to meet him there. We were all nervously dressed and waiting when we had to witness his passing. It wasn't the fault of GHS/PRISMA or Easley Baptist, but the care home, Easley Place. It has changed hands three times, with new staff each time. My grandpa, a former Marine, entered the facility in okay condition, only to die there. Never send anyone you love to this place. It's changed significantly for the worse!'

"Overwhelming Negligence & Bed Bug Infestation at Assisted Living."
Absolutely stay away from this place. When we walked in, the horrible stench of urine was overwhelming. Staff didn't even seem to realize when we were there or notice when we left, even though we took our loved one with us. They were staying in a section of the facility that got closed due to not accepting Medicaid anymore. They blindly told us to hire a moving company or move our loved one's belongings ourselves. We had no idea until it happened that the place was crawling with bed bugs. My loved one got rashes due to bed bugs and they even let them sleep on a couch infested with these pests. We couldn't really move anything out. I know a lot of people who've had to take their loved ones out of this community. All things considered, their approach to the entire situation was abysmal.

"Dedicated Director Cares for Residents"
Before COVID, they had daily activities for residents. The activities director was wonderful, always encouraging our loved one to participate. Communication with us was excellent. The food is okay, and the rooms are fine. You can personalize them with your own furniture. Skilled nursing rooms are also fine. During COVID, the administrative director went above and beyond, ensuring our loved one received little goodie bags even when we couldn't visit.

"Diverse Levels of Care Improve Safety and Resident Happiness"
The people working hard here, especially the nurses, deserve credit. They are lovely and incredibly kind. Things have gotten better since we arrived. At first, they didn't have enough staff, but a new director came in, and it's much better now. One nurse, [name removed], made a huge difference. She really cares about the residents. If you're considering Brookdale, know they offer various lifestyle options. Overall, they did a great job keeping everyone safe.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs More Compassionate Staff"
I just wish the workers here understood and cared more about the residents. It seems like they're really busy and tired, but they should try to see the residents as people with stories and feelings. Some staff members are really nice, but many seem exhausted and distant. However, there are three staff members who are amazing, and the cleaning crew does a great job. The new nurse is especially wonderful. She's friendly, warm, and treats the residents like friends.

"Warm Welcome and Top Contender"
We got there a day early, and [name removed] and the director made sure we felt right at home. The facility is really nice, but our two favorites make it even better. It's a strong contender for our future home.

BEWARE
"Assisted Living Nightmare: Unjust Treatment and Financial Strain"
In this 1.5-star review, the user recounts their distressing experience with an assisted living facility. Their mother’s long-term care insurance was dwindling, yet the facility demanded immediate payment beyond the agreed-upon terms. The user’s passionate defense of their mother’s well-being clashes with the facility’s money-driven approach. Beware of such practices!

Confused by the bill.
"Unreliable Billing and Management decent care but unsettling practices"
The care was okay, but we had issues with billing and management. The price changed a lot when we decided to stay permanently. They kept asking about our money which made us uncomfortable. So, we moved to a different place.

"Nice Place, But Chose a Better Fit Elsewhere"
I visited Brookdale while searching for a place for my loved one. It seemed nice overall, but it was kind of old and outdated. In the end, I chose another community that I liked better and thought would be a better fit for my loved one.

"Friendly Staff, Clean Place, Chose Different Home"
We took a good look around Brookdale Easley. The people working there were super nice and gave us all the info we needed about the place. Everything was neat and tidy. But in the end, we picked a different spot that fit what our family member needed better.

"Disappointing Experience at Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
My folks stayed here. Wasn't great. Staff's nice only during sign-up. Feels too much like a hospice. Costs a lot but not worth it. Look elsewhere.

"Positive feedback for assisted living with minor computer access complaint."
My friend is doing well at this community. She's making friends easily. The food is like what you'd find in a school cafeteria, but she enjoys it. The staff are quick to help and very friendly. The housekeeping staff are doing a great job cleaning her apartment and helping with laundry. They offer daily activities, and the community is always well maintained. We appreciate that this is a continuing care community. My only complaint would be the lack of computers for residents to use. Overall, I would recommend this community.

"Brookdale Easley tour: Nice place but not suitable for father's needs."
I visited Brookdale Easley, but it was for independent living. My dad didn't qualify. It's a nice place, but it wasn't right for him.

"Caring Staff and Clean Environment for Mom's Happiness"
The people who work here are doing a great job taking care of my mom. From what I can tell, my mom enjoys the food. The staff has been encouraging my mom to participate in activities, which I appreciate. My mom also enjoys being around the other people who live here. The community is older, but they make sure it's clean for her.

"Decent Experience with Some Room for Improvement"
My in-law stayed here briefly after surgery. Overall, it was okay. They liked the food, it was good. They should respond faster to calls for help, and the room's help button didn't work. She wasn't happy when they knocked on her door at 1 am for laundry. We were mostly satisfied, and we'd be okay with them staying here.
