"Caring Assisted Living Feels Like Home"

My mom moved from Chandler Independent to Assisted Living. The staff is big and helpful, always there for residents. They're kind and patient with her. It's not perfect, but it feels like home—clean, with great amenities like a hairdresser, nail care, and tasty meals. They encourage social interaction and offer fun activities. I'm relieved Mom's in good hands.

"Dismal Experience; Unfulfilled Promises at Assisted Living Facility"

The experience was dreadful. They gave her too many drugs, causing her to fall at least twice that we're aware of. She ended up needing surgery and now, she's confined to bed. We didn't take her back there. We arranged transportation from the hospital to our house instead. They promised top-notch care but utterly failed. I wouldn't advise anyone to use their services. My mother-in-law walked in happy, now she can't even straighten her operated leg, let alone walk. My thoughts are with the others in their memory care.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The place seemed nice, but things went downhill fast. Our family member wandered off without them telling us for a whole hour. When we visited at night, it felt like a hassle getting in and out. They moved our loved one to a higher level of care without letting us know why. They kept taking her to the hospital without telling us until we got the bills. The tests they did seemed unnecessary. The room was often messy and smelled bad. Sometimes we had to clean up poop off the walls. It didn't seem like they cleaned much. The food looked and smelled okay but was like school lunch. Towards the end, they asked us to hire a sitter because they weren't taking care of her properly. They only started caring when she was dying. They even gave tours while she was passing away, which was incredibly insensitive. When she died, they asked us to leave the room so they could show it to someone else. It was a terrible experience overall.

"Nice place, sometimes understaffed, but helpful staff"

We picked Chandler Place over other places because it was the nicest we could afford. Overall, I'm happy, but sometimes they seem a bit understaffed. However, I think that's common these days. Whenever I need help or answers, they are always ready to listen and assist.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Family Engagement"

This place needs families to stay involved. If not, parents might not get enough care. They try hard, but like everywhere, they sometimes don’t have enough staff. I had to keep reminding them about my mom. They’re improving because I spoke up.

"Mixed Feelings About Chandler Place"

We visited Chandler Place, but the facility seemed old and gloomy. We wanted a homey place with a bright, cheerful atmosphere.

"Chandler Place: A Nice Assisted Living Community"

Our family visited Chandler Place in person, and it was a positive experience. The community is nice.

"Inferior Care and Lack of Support at Chandler Place Assisted Living"

I relocated my dad from Chandler Place Independent Living (an excellent residence) since he required more attention. I assumed he'd be given similarly genuine assistance, albeit with more intensity. That didn't happen. The facility is led by a supervisor whose name I've decided to omit. The facility director was unknown to me. The care my dad received was unsatisfactory, and they abruptly dismissed him during the Covid outbreak. It was horribly distressing trying to secure him a new home. I didn't get any support from the aforementioned supervisor or anyone else at Chandler during this challenging time. On my own, I discovered Carolina Gardens. They were fantastic and looked after my dad until his final days. Proceed with caution if you're considering Chandler Place Assisted Living.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living and Memory Care"

When we arrived at this community, our family member stayed in the assisted living area, which was pleasant. Later, they were moved to memory care, which was quite different. Although our loved one liked the food, the rooms were tiny, lacked privacy, and allowed anyone to enter at any time.

"Think Twice Before Choosing Chandler Place Assisted Living"

I was really disappointed with my experience at Chandler Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. I moved my dad there from Chandler Independent Living (which was a great place) to the assisted living center. Sad to say, his health got really bad after only three months there. Then, smack in the middle of the Covid crisis, someone told me I had to find a new place for my dad in no time. You can imagine how tough that was, given that all care facilities were under lock and key due to Covid. No one on the Chandler staff offered to help me at all. Throughout all this, I never even met a boss or manager - I don't even know if there was one. I only ever talked to one person in charge. She told me twice over the phone to find another place for my dad, which really upset me. She wasn't at all kind or understanding. The silver lining, though, is that I found a better, cheaper place for my dad where the people really seem to care. If you're thinking about Chandler Place, my advice is to look at other options first.

"Great Activities, Food, and Community Spaces"

Chandler Place takes residents out once a week to eat at their favorite restaurants and sometimes to places like Dollar Tree. They also go on scenic drives. Entertainment groups come in to sing different kinds of music and play the piano. The food is varied, and the residents are happy with it. The layout of the community is nice, with a great entryway that’s always well-decorated, especially during the holidays. They have a nice dining area and a library where residents can borrow books. There are also gathering rooms for playing games or watching TV.

"Feels Like Family, Super Friendly Staff"

My mom is in the Memory Care unit, and I'm really happy with it. The new person in charge is awesome! We also like a couple of other staff members. The nurse is there every day, and another staff member comes weekly. The place feels like family, and everyone is super friendly. I highly recommend this place.

"Terrible Experience and Care at Assisted Living Facility"

You need to read this last part. It's the most important, but I just want to unfold everything in order. In the first month after my mom moved in, they ran out of her medicine and didn't give it to her for a day and a half! It's an addictive medication. So you can imagine, she had withdrawal symptoms, serious anxiety, and couldn't sleep. You'd think they'd be sorry, but they just placed the blame elsewhere. We shell out $250 each month for basic medicine management. She only has one prescription and they goofed that up! The only primary care physician at this facility gives terrible care, delays lab tests for days, and there is no cause for it. This creates a major issue when dealing with something as quick to worsen as a urinary tract infection. the manager, doesn't accept any blame and just tells you to call the physician, but you won't get very far with that either. In just 2 months, my mom was so frustrated, she tried to harm herself. She was so fed up that she couldn't stand to give them another cent of her money. I'm not saying this is a good reason to try to hurt yourself, but it shows how they were treating her. They wouldn't let her come back without around-the-clock supervision, and they wouldn't let it be a family member on duty, even after a psychiatrist said she could return to assisted living. Over the two short months that they were supposed to care for my mom, they charged us the rent for the time they took to sort out the paperwork before she could move in. That was a whole week's worth. They wanted a $3000 community fee and hiked up the monthly rate the very next month, saying that it's standard to raise it yearly (meaning, January for them), not after a full year of your loved one staying there. They also refused to give back the community fee even though they didn't come through on their promises to care for my mom.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Tour"

I toured this community for my father's needs. It's nice, staff kind and informative, but not right for us.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The person we were supposed to meet didn't show up. The place was bustling with activity, especially with the residents. Unfortunately, the dementia area was locked, and the residents seemed tired. On the bright side, the pricing was good.

"Smooth operations with minimal complaints at assisted living facility."

So far, everything is going well. I'd rate them four out of five stars. No major complaints heard; things are running smoothly.
