"Not Ideal for Memory Care"
My family member used to live at Carolina Gardens at Garden City in the Memory Care unit, and our overall experience was just okay. I don't know much about the Assisted Living side, only the Memory Care. Other residents in Assisted Living might have a different opinion about this place. However, based on our experience, this facility isn't well-prepared for dementia patients. I wouldn't recommend it for Memory Care.

"Mixed Feelings on Carolina Gardens Assisted Living"
Carolina Gardens seems pretty safe, and they plan fun activities for residents. The maintenance people are friendly and helpful. However, sometimes they don't have enough staff. Most of the staff are really nice, but there are one or two who aren't as nice and can be a bit short with my mom when she's upset.

"Terrible Virtual Tour of Carolina Gardens' Depressing Space"
I checked out Carolina Gardens at Garden City online and it was just plain awful - really depressing. The so-called studio apartment was nothing more than a bedroom with a bathroom and a teeny-tiny closet. There wasn't a kitchen in sight!

"Decent Place, Not for the Very Independent"
It’s a nice place with friendly people. My family member likes doing things on their own more than what’s offered here.

"Improvements Needed at Assisted Living Facility"
Rooms should be cleaner. My family member didn't like the food. There's not much for men to do, and the hair stylist won't cut men's hair. The staff is nice.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Staff"
Most of the staff are nice and helpful. Weekends are tough because no one is around, but I get that everyone needs a break. Some younger staff can be rude and act like they’re doing you a favor.
