"Assisted Living Facility: Mixed Experience"
The staff is really nice and they answer questions fast. But I think they don't have enough staff. They have activities on a calendar, but not many people join. So, sometimes my parent doesn't go, or there's nobody to lead. The food is alright most days, but they don't always have things like ketchup or mustard. And there's no choice in what to eat. Everyone gets the same thing.

"Unmet promises, safety concerns, trust lost, repairs helped, still not recommended."
My parents left soon. Promised renovations and new fridge not done. Mom fell. Repairs helped but trust lost. Can't recommend.

"Families misinformed about fire response"
There was a fire while we were there. We helped evacuate the residents. It was cold, so they had to wait outside. The staff found tablecloths to cover some of the residents. They were given cold cans of Sprite. Families were told the residents got warm blankets and coffee, but this didn't happen.

"Friendly Staff, Slight Cleanup Suggestion, Overall Good Experience"
The workers are really nice and friendly. They make sure you know what’s happening with your family member. My only idea would be to hire more cleaners. Besides that, everything is great.

"Unhappy with Poor Care at Harbison Shores"
This place is really badly run by the people who work here! The person I care about has ended up in the hospital a bunch of times ever since they started living here. I definitely don't suggest going to Harbison Shores.

"Recommended for Families"
We chose this community because the hospital recommended it due to her income. I’d recommend it to other families.

"Harbison Shores: Improve Food and Communication!"
From our time here, I believe Harbison Shores could enhance food quality and communication. But communication isn't optional.

"Didn't Feel Right For Dad"
Since the search was for Dad, I let him decide where he wanted to go. This place was nice, and we liked it a lot. The community looked clean and well taken care of. The staff was very nice, friendly, and professional. However, the community just didn't give us the same feeling as some others.

"Great place for seniors"
This place is really nice. The people who work here are friendly and they help my dad join in on fun things to do every day. The food is tasty and there are healthy choices too. Everyone who lives here is friendly. The building and grounds are both nice. I think this place is a good choice for seniors.

"Visit Went Smoothly"
My visit to this place went smoothly. The community was getting a makeover, but it could use some updates. The staff I met were friendly and answered all my questions. They treated my family and me kindly. However, I found another community that suited our needs better.

"Food A Little Dry, But This Is A Lovely Community"
I recently fell and broke my leg, but once I recover, I’ll return to Caroline Gardens. It’s a delightful community, and I truly enjoy living here. The staff is kind and helpful, maintaining cleanliness and well-kept grounds. There are activities waiting for me when I’m back. While the food could be better—it’s a bit dry—overall, everything is positive, and I’d recommend it.

The new Carolina Gardens team is amazing! I really love this place now that Agape is gone. The new management and ownership have created a fantastic, family-like atmosphere.

Respect Elders
"Beware: Agape's High Fees and Low Care Standards"
I haven't been to Agape Assisted Living myself, but I've heard some really bad things from my family members who have relatives living there. Think twice before you place your dear ones there. If you do choose Agape, know that you will end up paying a lot more than the initial cost they tell you due to their "care points" system. You'll be surprised by the high fees. Also, watch out for the meds they're giving your family member and ask questions. Elderly people often experience worse side effects from medicines. Something that causes dizziness could lead to a dangerous fall if not watched carefully. Remember, this is a business and they're here to make money, not to truly care for people. They act nice to sell their services to potential residents and their families. Once you're in, they'll do or say anything to keep your loved one there and charge whatever they want without asking you first. Look up the bad reviews on Medicare.gov about Agape in W. Columbia.
