"Clean and appealing, but not the best we considered."
The community seemed nice, but not as nice as another place we were looking at. It was clean and looked good, and the people there told us a lot of helpful information.

"Friendly staff, great info, no in-person tour due to COVID"
We took a virtual tour of this community. The staff was very friendly and gave us lots of great information. They also followed up with us. We couldn't do an in-person tour because of COVID.

"Carolina Gardens: Kind, Beautiful, and Recommended"
The staff at Carolina Gardens were kind and supportive to my dad. They truly did their best for him. The place is beautiful, with lovely landscaping and well-organized buildings. The rooms were very pleasant. Our friends’ relatives recommended this community, and they were delighted.

"Poor Tour and Gloomy Atmosphere; Won't Choose This Facility"
Right from the start, the place was really gloomy. The tour was totally bad, they didn't even show us a room. Definitely not picking this place.

"Depressing Environment and Lousy Tour"
The place felt really gloomy the moment I stepped in and the tour itself was handled badly.

"Terrible Service Encounter At Carolina Gardens Assisted Living Facility"
This place is the worst! I was trying to move my Grandma into Respite Care with Carolina Gardens from her current senior living home. Her home had to send the necessary forms over to Carolina Gardens multiple times and they still weren't processed, even though we received confirmation that they got them. I tried calling their office to figure out what was going on, but the woman who answered, over talked me and was super rude. She said she already explained the situation to the social worker at Grandma's home and to me, and she wasn't going to do it again. Then, she hung up on me! Not just once, but twice! I really hope no one else has to go through this. Don't choose to send your loved ones to Carolina Gardens in West Columbia. They're so unprofessional, uncaring, and plain rude! I also plan to write a letter to their corporate office to report this. If something has happened to your loved one at this place, investigate it right away! Good treatment starts from the top, and the so-called professionals at Carolina Gardens are just not up to the task. Remember, prevention is better than cure! Please, choose a different place for your loved ones!

"Great care and improvements at Carolina Gardens Lexington"
My mom lives at Carolina Gardens Lexington and is doing great there. The staff is wonderful, and the location is just right for our family. Since Pruitt Health took over in March, the place has improved a lot, with better grounds and a fresh look inside. The meals are better now, but they could offer more choices. Overall, I highly recommend this place for taking care of your loved ones.

"Mixed experience at Carolina Gardens; helpful staff, but lacking post-move-in attention."
My loved one stayed briefly at Carolina Gardens. Overall, it seemed nice. The facility looks good, and the staff on tours were helpful and informative. On move-in day, they greeted us but didn’t check on us much afterward, which was disappointing. However, when my loved one faced serious health issues, the director was supportive—he met us at the hospital and checked in frequently.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short"
I visited the place, now renamed from “Agape,” but encountered familiar Agape staff. The Memory Care unit at the back felt gloomy. During my tour, a woman in a wheelchair requested pain medication, which took 15 minutes to reach the med tech. Their response? “She already had her pill.” I wonder if they ever returned to the woman waiting in the hallway. If you pay the $2,000 admission fee, they can shuffle you to the back Memory Care unit without warning. The administrator mentioned that any hint of memory issues lands residents in the rear. Unfortunately, the front lacks pleasant units. I wouldn’t even leave my dog there, let alone a loved one.

"Great care and a warm, welcoming place"
I think Carolina Gardens is the best place for my mom. She is getting better care and more one-on-one therapy. We know her memory will keep getting worse, but she is in good hands. The staff has been very helpful and friendly, welcoming her warmly. I also like that her unit is small, which makes it less scary for her.
