"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
My mom was taken out to sit with others every day. I never saw any fun activities during her entire stay (almost 14 months). At night, there were no cameras in the rooms, and no one checked the halls. Another resident, a man with a history, came into my mom's room and hurt her badly. My mom was only 85lbs and couldn't defend herself. She had to yell until someone came. For how much we paid, it wasn't worth it. I hope other places are better.

"Gross Negligence in Assisted Living Center"
Thoroughly Disappointed by Assisted Living Experience" "I wouldn't suggest this place, trust me. I've had numerous problems since my family member moved in. The onsite pharmacy, which supplies the medical staff, is really messing things up. They're handling old prescriptions that the doctor long stopped, and neglecting new ones that should be given. They've even misplaced some of my family member's prescriptions. They're short on staff, but the caregivers they do have are doing what they can. From what I've seen, the staff are overall decent and they seem to have good relationships with my family member. They had said that there was an activities schedule available, but you wouldn't believe it - there's no schedule anywhere. And even worse, staff don't even make sure my family member gets to the activities that do happen. The food situation is just awful. According to my family member, the meals are barely edible and don't even look good. At their age, a decent meal should be something to enjoy, not dread. The food is always cold by the time it arrives from the kitchen. One recent example was a baked potato with stone-cold cheese and a side of blueberries. No variety, and thoroughly unimpressive. They didn't even give my family member a fork! After a bunch of calls from us, they finally gave them one. The Assisted Living 2 section is distinctly run-down. Large, noticeable stains on the carpet and an unpleasant smell that hits you whenever you visit.

"Carolina Gardens Falls Short on Quality and Staff"
I visited Carolina Gardens at Rock Hill, but I wasn’t impressed. They charged the same as the facility we chose, but their staff and facility quality fell short.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living: Decent Rooms, Limited Activities"
The rooms were okay, and I really liked that they kept our loved one's clothes safe. It was cool that everyone had their own room but shared a bathroom. I wish there were more fun things to do though. The place was mostly clean, which was good.

My family member died, having been given too much medicine. This facility is awful, I wouldn't suggest it to anybody.

"Assisted Living Review Summary"
The staff are nice, but the memory care needs more help. Sometimes patients wander, and there aren't enough people to watch everyone. I visit at different times and mostly see wandering. They post activities, like an Easter BBQ, but we missed it because we were sick.

"Feels like home, highly recommended"
We picked Carolina Gardens because the rooms felt like an apartment. It has a separate bedroom and a small kitchen, making it feel more like home. It's been a good experience, and I would recommend it.

"Mixed Feelings at Carolina Gardens"
We used to like Carolina Gardens until it changed hands. We met a new staff member, who was helpful like the old one. Mom wasn't sure at first, but she likes it now. Once they get everything sorted out, it'll be a nice place to stay. Thanks to the staff!

"Nice place."
The place is good and nice enough. There are plenty of activities to get everyone involved. The problem is that it feels like it is too far from where we live for convenience.
