"Assisted Living Community Review"
I like this place for my family member. They listen to my worries and help with questions about my family member. The food looks yummy, and my family member enjoys it. They have fun activities like games, bible study, and more for everyone.

"Friendly Staff and Informative Virtual Tour"
We did a virtual tour of this community. The staff was very friendly and shared a lot of great information. They also followed up with us. We couldn't do a regular tour because of COVID.

"Lacking Safety Info for Fall-Risk Residents"
The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. But they didn't tell me about safety measures or emergency exits for my fall-risk mother. No info on where they store medication. Shouldn't I know these things?

"Great care and clean environment for my loved one"
I’m really happy with the care my family member receives here. The staff is kind and caring, which gives me peace of mind. The facility is always clean, and we love that her room has a nice patio she enjoys. The menu is appealing and offers good options. They also have fun activities for the residents who want to join in. Overall, we feel this place offers great value and care, and I would definitely recommend it.

"Horrible Stay with No Assistance from Staff"
My father-in-law had a terrible time during his short stay here. The staff didn't do anything to assist him. They didn't give him a shower, didn't change his dirty clothes or bed sheets. We even found his soaked clothes on his closet floor, where he must have tossed them. I brought his personal TV and they didn't even take the time to hook it up so he could watch it.

"Awful Stay: No Care or Attention Given"
My father-in-law's stay at this place was just awful. The folks who work there didn't do a thing to help him out. They didn't wash him or give him clean clothes. His dirty clothes and bed sheets were left unchanged. We even found his wet clothes thrown on his closet floor by himself. I had brought his own television but they didn't even bother to set it up so he could watch.

"Unimpressed by Outdated Assisted Living Facility"
We checked out this place when searching for my Mom's new home. I wasn't a big fan of how it looked - it seemed old-fashioned. Even though we only had a short tour, it didn't really catch my interest.

"Great Tour Experience at Very Nice Community"
I took a really nice tour of this place. The person in charge was awesome. She really put in a lot of effort for us and kept in touch afterward. The place looked really nice and tidy. It was a pleasant experience, everyone was really nice. Luckily, it's close to where we live, so it's convenient for us.

"Distrust and Dissatisfaction Towards Assisted Living Facility"
This facility is terrible. If your family member ever gets injured, neglected or mistreated at this home, you'll face a tough time pursuing legal action. They are masters of deceit. It's disappointing and disturbing that they don't value the quality of life of their residents. If you have the mental fortitude and discretion to seek assistance, you may receive minimal attention because they're aware of the trouble they could face otherwise. Find a better place.

""Avoid This Facility: Dishonest and Negligent""
This facility is dreadful. If your family member gets injured, neglected or ill-treated here, good luck taking legal action. They're the worst. They're just full of lies. It's an embarrassment to see how they disregard a person's quality of life. If you're smart and proactive in seeking help, they might show a bit of attention, just to avoid trouble. Do yourself a favor, consider other options.

""Concerns with medication administration and blame shifting from administration.""
There are some really kind and considerate workers here, for sure. However, I really can't say the same for the administrative side. They seem to just point fingers and blame others. And my advice is - always double check that your loved ones are actually getting their medications. Today, I found out that my loved ones, both on blood thinners, had not been receiving their meds. One hadn't gotten theirs for a month and the other for two weeks. None of the staff could explain why. The answer I got from the nurse practitioner was,"I don't have an answer because I honestly don't know!" My advice, if you love your parents or grandparents, continually monitor their care here. I thought my relatives were just confused because of dementia, but it turns out the things they were telling me about this place were true!

"Unreliable Admin and Unsatisfactory Care at Assisted Living Facility"
Some of the workers are genuinely kind and attentive! However, the administrative team completely falls short. They consistently deflect fault instead of taking responsibility for their errors. Please be sure to regularly verify that your family members are receiving their prescribed medication. I discovered today, sadly, that my loved ones had not received their lifesaving blood thinners. In fact, one had been without their medication for a month and the other for two weeks. Unbelievably, no one could provide a valid reason for this oversight. Even the medical professional on site was unable to account for this discrepancy, stating she simply did not know. I would strongly advise you to stay vigilant in ensuring your loved ones are receiving proper care at this facility. I initially dismissed my loved ones complaints as symptoms of their dementia, but it turns out their grievances were accurate!

"Watch Out! Investigate and Monitor Agape Care Bills!"
You better look up Medicare and DHEC ratings for the Agape Primary Physician Care. You gotta be extra careful with them. And don't forget to keep a sharp eye on your bills. The same advice holds for medications.

"Beware and Listen: Terrible Care at this Facility"
Practically, they weren't truthful about how they planned to care for my mom or dad. The care they received was terrible and disappointing, and the law leaves me powerless. I would advise anyone against choosing this facility. My family member went in for physical therapy and passed away there. The doctor didn't even show up to see them on their last day, and I had to endure watching them suffer for over six hours before they were moved. I then watched them deteriorate for two weeks. Be extremely cautious about this place, stay by your loved one’s side, or really pay attention to their experiences. I might be one of the few with this pain, but it happened to me. I'm only talking based on my experience. When I probed for information, I was never given a complete answer, or they contradicted themselves. That should have warned me something was wrong.

"Friday Visit Left Mixed Feelings: Nice Inside, Lacking Outdoor Space"
I stopped by this place last Friday. Overall, it was nice. The rooms were pretty spacious. However, the memory care section seemed a bit old. It really could do with some modern updates. The outside space was pretty limited. There was barely any room to park or drive a car with ease. Also, there was no space to stroll. It isn't ideal if you have a dog; a cat might be alright. It's also quite a distance if you're planning to drive daily.

"Problems Persist at Assisted Living Facility Despite Staff's Efforts"
It seems like most of the staff at this assisted living facility care about their patients, but they don't stick around long. Even some of the long-term workers including nurses have quit. This facility has problems keeping employees, maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building, and dealing with the litter left by employees during their breaks. There's also a consistent issue with the availability of hot water and clean towels for the residents. Although the facility proudly states that they have laundry on-site, it appears there might not be enough workers to actually utilize it. The meals, while appearing delicious, are another issue. The staff ask patients for their food preferences, but they largely ignore these requests. As someone who has been in managerial roles all my working life, it seems like someone in charge needs to step away from their paperwork and actually observe the conditions on the floor! This is a for-profit business, I get that. But this isn't about storing products, it's about tending to people. I don't understand why the bed-ridden patients are so prominently displayed at both of the main entrances. I express concern for these individuals and their families. I can't help but doubt that showcasing them truly conveys a message of "excellent care". This is merely my viewpoint, but it's shared by many of those I've talked to, including both employees and families of current residents.

"Good Care, Limited Choices: Agape Assisted Living Review"
We like Agape. Mom came for care after her neck broke. They tell us everything she does. If they change her room or meds, they call right away. She's in a double room, they thought it'd be better. It's only private pay. Food's really good, but fewer choices than before. Staff is friendly, couldn't be nicer. Brother visits, says she's doing great! They have singing, bingo, and activities for residents.

"Agape perhaps stretched too thin, suggests previous residents"
To be honest, this wasn't the place for me. Someone sort of spilled the beans on some stuff they maybe shouldn't have. I got wind of some bad things. Some folks who lived there before weren't thrilled and they didn't mind saying why. They mentioned that Agape was trying to offer all kinds of care, but they were stretching themselves too thin, instead of really excelling at one thing. When I visited the place, it didn't really hit me, but it was my first tour so I wasn't sure what to look for. Hearing from those who had experienced it solidified my decision.

"Convenience over location, but better options elsewhere"
I didn't go on a fancy tour. My old pastor, who stays there, gave me a walkthrough after we grabbed lunch. He enjoys it there, and it's closer to my job, which seemed convenient. But after checking out Lexington, I figured a different location would suit me better.

"Avoid Agape: Poor Care, Constant Changes and No Reimbursements"
My mom was in Agape but had a tough time because the staff kept changing so she couldn't form bonds with any caretakers. Even though the place was clean, there were too many changes in management. When my mom left in May, she was supposed to get some money back but hasn't seen a cent. Getting anything from them was a struggle. Also, her health declined there. She was almost diabetic because of the food they served. I spoke to them many times about my mom's dietary needs as her doctor had advised, but they didn't do a thing to adjust her meals.

"Admission Guy Great, but Agape Disappoints"
I've been somewhat unhappy with Agape. They provide a menu for the meals that will be given, but often, the actual food doesn't match the listed items. Every time I call to discuss an issue, nobody gets back to me even after I leave voice messages. I have to actually visit the place to share my concerns. My main aim is just for my relative to be happy, and we shouldn't have to stress over anything else. The guy who handles admissions is really great and made me believe this was the perfect place. But now, I'm not so sure. I feel let down by Agape and am considering other options.
