"Health Department Ignored by Unresponsive, Boring Assisted Living Facility"
We tried reaching out to this place a bunch of times while we were hunting for the right spot. We left message after message without a peep back from them. One day, a lady from the health department called them from our house and got stuck on hold forever! They just ignored all of our efforts to connect! This spot is pretty close to where I live. I pass by it a lot. Mostly I see people, hardly any gals, just hanging out on the porches. There's never any fun or activities going on in the yard. Sometimes I spot a van but it's just sitting there. It really doesn't look like they're doing too much for the folks living there. All I ever see them doing is staring at the cars zooming by! I've never actually been inside, but from the look of it, it seems like a pretty lame spot that no one should have to put up with!

"Unsatisfactory living conditions and poor meals at facility"
When I checked out a house at this place, I was far from impressed. No air conditioning for a whole month, and the floor's got issues. They've moved residents to different homes and a breakfast of cereal and spoiled milk was actually served one day I know of. This place doesn't foster a homely environment where the residents' needs are properly taken care of.

"Worst Nursing Home Nightmare: Gregory Community Care's Abhorrent Practices"
Do NOT send any of your loved ones to Gregory's Community Care! My mom ended up there due to a hospital recommendation and it's a complete nightmare. Believe me, I've witnessed it personally. I actually had to sneak out my mom from there. When other residents noticed my friend and I hastily gathering my mom's belongings, they pleaded for us to take them along. They literally begged us! I left heartbroken when I had to turn them down, but I promised to inform people about their distress. Even after confronting the owner, no action was taken. The only thing she did was run off to her own home on the facility's property and lock the door. What was shocking is that there was only one nurse throughout my mom's stay. Residents are allowed to contact their doctors only after office hours and are compelled to consult one particular doctor who works with the owner, . This doctor falsely diagnoses each patient, prescribing costly medication that he supplies through a cheaper source in Columbia. The residents then get billed three times the actual price, with he and the doctor pocketing the surplus. If a resident's family fails to clear the outstanding bill, he With only one phone accessible to residents, and that too behind a key-locked door, they have a mere 10 minutes (or less) to speak with their family under the watchful eyes and ears of the nurse. I feel nauseous penning down this awful reality but felt the need to inform others so they can avoid this horrific place and maybe take action. Believe me, the GPS or the Ombudsman office won't help, as all they did in response to my complaints was ask the owner, who obviously denied all allegations, and then they closed the case just like that. Feel free to connect with me for more information.
