"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Okay Food"
My family member lives at Fairforest Grove Senior Living. We transferred them here from another place, and they’ve been here for a while. Overall, it’s been a positive experience. Their room is consistently clean, and they like spending time in the TV area. The staff is friendly, although the food is just okay.

"Friendly Care at Fairforest Grove"
The caretakers at memory care are super friendly. However, room cleanliness could be better. Overall, I’d recommend Fairforest Grove.

"Promising Assisted Living Community Near Pond with Renovations"
Our family visited in person and loved this place. It’s near a pond, and everyone was really friendly. But they’re doing renovations, so some parts were tricky to see.

"Safety Concerns with Uneven Sidewalks"
Our family took an in-person tour, and it was a great experience. The facility has a lovely walking path outside, but the sidewalks are uneven. We were concerned about safety for our loved one.

"'Beware: Unexpected Fees After Death, Indications of Neglect'"
This place might seem okay, but read everything before you agree to anything. My family member was living there and when she died, they made us pay more than $1,200 because we didn't tell them two weeks in advance we were leaving. She died. Seriously. She was extremely dehydrated when they took her to the hospital. I'm just saying, be super careful and read all the fine print before you get your family member or friend into this place. Not cool, at all.

"No Nursing Staff On Site"
We visited several different places, and we really liked this one. However, someone advised me not to choose a community without nursing staff on-site, which this property lacks. The community was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful during the tour. I did feel that it might be slightly too large for my dad's comfort.

"Staff Treatment Needs Improvement"
The management staff isn't very good when it comes to dealing with the hands-on staff. I've overheard managers talking down to or about the hands-on staff. It's really sad to see how some residents talk to the staff, and especially how the Executive Director talks to them. Overall, the care is GREAT, even though the building is very short-staffed. I'm curious why fish is served four nights a week. It's a great place for care, but I wouldn't want my DOG to work there. Management needs to watch how they talk and treat their staff.

"Poor Management"
The staff, mostly women, work hard on the second shift, which is why my relative is there. Unfortunately, the management team isn't great—they're overworked and understaffed. The food is good, except for too much fish at dinner. The Executive Director is rude and lacks empathy. If you want a caring place for your loved one, this is it, but not for employment. .

"Wonderful place for my dad with caring staff!"
I couldn't ask for a better place for my dad. The staff is super friendly, really accommodating, and genuinely cares about the residents. Since it’s a smaller facility, it feels more personal. My dad loves joining in on activities like trivia games and music, and he enjoys taking walks around the pond. He likes going to the dining area, and they even make special accommodations for me when I come to eat with him since I’m a vegetarian. I'm very happy with the care my dad is getting.

"Good care"
They looked after my dad well during his short stay at HarborChase of Columbia. The community is friendly and welcoming to families. The director was very active, and everything runs smoothly. The staff was hands-on in caring for my dad. The community is beautiful and well-maintained.

"Mother-in-Law Doing Wonderful"
My mother-in-law is doing great since moving here. We first placed her in the memory care unit, but they suggested assisted living since her care level wasn't there yet. Since then, everything has been working out well. They provide nice meals and good activities. We know she is safe and in good hands. I would recommend this community to family and friends.

"Nice Place to Stay, But Watch for Fallen Food and Ducks"
Harbor Chase was a nice place with kind people working there. My room was pretty good. Everything was clean, even the bathroom. But, they could have cleaned the dining room a bit more. Food on the floor could make someone slip. I didn't stay there long, though. The only bad bit was the front porch. It was often covered with duck poop because there's a lake behind the place. The ducks come looking for food that people drop. Despite this, the people living there seem to like them.

"Harbor Chase is a great place to stay!"
I stayed at Harbor Chase for respite care and was very happy with my room and the care I got. The view of the lake was great, and there was a nice walking area. I liked the porch for relaxing outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I wasn't a big fan of the ducks, but they are entertaining for the full-time residents. I really enjoyed the music when Janet played the piano and sang hymns.

"A Warm, Welcoming Assisted Living Experience with Caring Staff"
My sister and I visited the facility and met the owner. We loved the cozy, home-like atmosphere. The memory unit has 13 apartments, each with its own bathroom. The staff was friendly and always ready to help. We chatted with several residents, and they all praised how nice the owner is. She even played the piano and sang for us, with some residents and another staff member joining in the fun. This place is way better than the first one we checked out, and the prices are similar. The cost for a private room includes everything after a one-time community fee. It’s expensive, but it seems worth it. When we were about to leave, they gave us a box with two pastries. We tried one and saved the other for Mom. We saw a group of residents doing memory exercises, like identifying candies that start with the letter M. They seemed to be enjoying it. Talking to the owner made us feel that she genuinely cares for the residents, which really put us at ease. Unlike our first visit to another community, there was no pressure to sign up here—just a friendly tour and helpful information.

They are always there for us. The people here are so helpful, caring, and loving. I’d give them a ten! Once, when she had to go to the ER while we were out of town, they called us and kept us updated every step of the way. They’re absolutely worth it! They celebrate different holidays with parties and hold a monthly dinner for residents and family. The food is good, too! When we first moved in, they hosted a family dinner where we met most of the staff, which was wonderful. Big shout-out to Ms. Stoddard – I couldn’t have done it without her. A Place For Mom was also so helpful and there for us in our time of need.

It's been a wonderful place, and we were very pleased with it. The care was great, and I loved all the staff—they are so loving and caring. It was a beautiful and peaceful place. There were lots of activities, and my mom, who is a musician with some dementia, was really encouraged to play the piano at many events. That was so good for her. They had family nights; we could only go to two since we weren’t there long, but one of my favorite photos is from a couple of weeks ago with my mom and me in cowboy hats and bandanas. This place also had memory care, but we chose regular assisted living, and that worked out fine. It was nice to know that if things changed, she could go there. Being close to home was really important too. It made a big difference because my husband and I could swing by after work. If it had been farther away, we might have put it off.

"Nice facility with friendly staff, but concerned about security"
Very nice people and a clean facility. My mother is now a resident of Aspen Village, and I hope she will be happy there. She has met some of the other residents and seems to be enjoying herself. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I am a little concerned about security.

"A Home Away from Home"
I found HarborChase of Columbia to be great for my mom. The Memory Care unit has fewer residents, the common area is nicely furnished, and the rooms are nice. Mom seems happy there. The staff are supportive and attentive to both residents and family. They've involved Mom in activities that help her feel comfortable and at ease. Since we couldn't keep Mom at home anymore, HarborChase has provided a 'home away from home' for her.

"Great Spot and Good Value for Assisted Living"
We picked Harborchase of Columbia because it’s in a great spot for our family. It’s right next to a nice neighborhood and close to the highway. We got a better deal here compared to other places we visited. While there are some areas with heavy traffic that could use a bit more cleaning, overall it’s a very good place, and we’d suggest it to others.

"Decent Rooms and Activities, Maintenance Could Be Improved"
The rooms were decent and there were a lot of activities for the residents. However, it wasn't as well-kept as another facility I saw, which was cleaner. My brother also pointed this out.

"Reasonably Priced Rooms, High Personal Care Costs, Abundant Activities"
This place has big rooms that don't cost too much. But if you need extra help, it might cost more here than at other places. There are plenty of things to do, though!
