"Terrible Neglect and Lack of Care at Assisted Living Facility"
Why doesn't your webpage have pictures of the actual facility? Is it because it's not clean? You let people stay in their rooms alone for so long that they get dehydrated and sick from not moving around. But no one notices because nobody bothers to check on them. The person who should be taking care of them just says it's someone else's job. You don't even call the family or 911 when they need medical help. Not getting enough care can even lead to their deaths. I hope the staff at this place can sleep at night. Because you never know if your own family will need this kind of care one day. I hope they have better luck than my family did. When it's your turn to need help, I hope you remember that you get what you give.

"Inadequate Care and Poor Communication at Heath Springs Residential Center"
My mom stayed at Heath Springs Residential Center and initially, she had a really good caregiver whose name I've removed. This caregiver, who was knowledgeable about caring for the elderly and chatting with visitors, did a great job at keeping my mom clean and nicely dressed. However, as time passed, a younger, less professional caregiver started assisting my mom. She began discussing her private life and some personal topics about my son that I had mentioned to my mom. The choice to give unsolicited advice to my mom over several weeks resulted in my mom constantly speaking about misconceptions and this caregiver's viewpoint. During my last visit to Health Springs, I informed my mom I wanted to leave early since I was distressed, partly because I smelt an awful odor previously at the nurses' station that turned out to be from another resident. The foster care worker chased me off, threatened to call the police, and lied that I had thrown a bag at my mom. When I asked about my mom's comforter, the caregiver referred to it condescendingly as "that old thing." To make matters worse, my mom's clothes and pajamas kept disappearing shortly after I brought them. I would ask the staff to find them but it seemed they didn't want to. Before leaving, I reported the situation to the facility's administrator, who said she would contact me about when I could see my mom again. I tried to follow up but didn't hear back. This carried on for four months. The final straw came when my mom ended up in the hospital with a bladder infection. I hold Health Springs responsible because if I had been allowed to visit, I might have prevented it. At the hospital, my mom was so sick she was on morphine. Sadly, my last interaction with my mom was her expressing hope that they wouldn't stop me from visiting. Not only did Health Springs punish me, but they also punished my mom by isolating her from her only visitor. That's not all, during my visits, I noticed some residents had bruised faces and one even had a broken arm. Others looked neglected with their grooming falling by the wayside. In summary, professionalism needs to be addressed, and communication needs to improve to avoid punishments like what my mom and I experienced. The staff could benefit from more support, which may explain the cleanliness issues and the constant disappearance of residents' belongings. Finally, my last visit was marred by incidents of residents looking bruised or under-groomed. The sight of residents lacking proper care and my mom not even having a proper pair of pants left a sour taste in my mouth.

"Unaccommodating Staff and Poor Hygiene Stink up Assisted Living Facility"
The whole place was disgustingly messy, with sandy bedroom floors. Despite one resident falling and breaking their arm due to a spill, the staff showed no urgency in cleaning up liquids. Strangely, residents started displaying facial bruises in a matter of weeks, it appeared as if they'd fallen from their beds. Personal belongings and clothes, despite being labelled, often got misplaced. I pointed out an instance of this and the response was dismissive. One staff member gave inappropriate advice about a family member's sexual orientation, which caused problems when it was repeated by the resident. If a family member had any disagreements with a resident, the staff made sure the family member couldn't visit again by not informing the supervisor. False information was also spread about family members' visitations. Like others, my family member stunk of urine. The smell was so strong, you could detect it from eight feet away.
