"Confusing Bills and Lost Items: A Mixed Experience"
The bills I get are super confusing. Every month, I need someone to explain them to me. Still waiting for my $50 late fee credit. Also, switching from a double room to a single room costs extra—I didn't realize that. But it was necessary because my husband couldn't sleep with his roommate. Plus, personal items keep disappearing from his room.

"Lacking Modernity and Cheer"
It seemed like an old nursing home. It didn't feel very modern or cheerful.

"Nice Tour but Concerned About Multiple Floors"
We visited this assisted living place in person, and it was a really nice experience. However, if we remember right, they have several floors, and we didn’t want our loved one having to deal with stairs.

"Good value, caring staff, and excellent memory care unit."
We chose Myrtle Beach Manor because it was reasonably priced and close to my home. There was a sign-up fee. Although my husband was asked to leave, the staff showed great concern for both of us. I got a quick refund, which I appreciated. They've been around for a long time—my husband's mother was here 30 years ago. The chef is excellent, and the food is good. I recommend their memory care unit to others. With my 12 years of caregiving experience and other recommendations, I know they do a great job.

"Neglected Residents and Unattended Facility, Staff Ignors Complaints"
This place doesn't care about its residents. The more help a resident needs, the less attention they get. When you try to complain by phone, don't expect a call back. They ignore your emails too. The ceilings in the rooms are caving in, all showers require steps to get in, and they serve cold food. They leave dirty diapers in the bathrooms. You never see any staff around, and the main door is always unlocked. Anybody could walk in or out unnoticed at almost any time. The place is seriously short-staffed and those who work there just don't seem to care. If you try to complain, they blame it on the residents. Don't waste your time visiting. They've got way too many things they need to fix to make it worth your while.

"Staff Unhelpful, Facility Dirty, and Food Poor at Assisted Living Home"
The staff truly don't seem to care here. They informed me that my mother-in-law needed assistance and required nursing care. We relocated her to a different facility and she's already managing to stand on her own. Additionally, the food is terribly poor quality. There are cockroaches all over the place. The housekeeping staff seems to only do the bare minimum required for their job.

"Understaffed Manor Facility Unsuitable for Non-Ambulatory Patients"
This facility is unsafe for non-ambulatory patients due to understaffing and lack of personalized care. My husband's depression escalated significantly during his tenure at The Manor. Minimal personal attention and poor safety standards, demonstrated by his numerous falls in just one week, forced us to withdraw him from their care. Now at home, his mental and physical health has improved dramatically. He frequently had to lay wet from not being attended to in time, attempting to get up by himself and subsequently falling. For all these reasons, I strongly discourage anyone to use this facility if their loved one is unable to walk. Consult your insurance and arrange for home care instead, it isn't worth the risk given my poor experience there.

We saw this nice community on a computer tour, and it seemed good, but we needed a place nearer to where we live.

"Poor Communication and Management Oversights at Assisted Living Facility"
Make sure to get everything in writing. Don't expect callbacks if you leave a message or email. I haven't seen the room yet, so I'm not sure about its condition. When I visited today, my loved one wasn't wearing shoes, just socks. It seems like management thinks they're perfect. They could improve. The staff I've met are friendly and caring. But overall, communication here is really bad.

"Worst Assisted Living Facility, Please Avoid!"
I'm super bummed and grossed out over this place. They ended up losing all my friend's clothes. They even threatened to send him to a shelter after getting transferred from the hospital. My friend had just had a huge stroke and was dealing with other major health issues. Nobody should ever send their friend or family here. The people running the place and their employees were terrible. I don't usually write reviews but felt I had to speak out for this one. No one in this place seemed to care about the patients who were depending on them.

"Life-saving care and recovery at Myrtle Beach Manor!"
I can honestly say I absolutely love everyone at Myrtle Beach Manor! The staff is very thoughtful and caring. They truly saved my father’s life. When everyone else thought he wouldn’t survive, they never gave up. After his third cancer surgery, he went to a rehab/nursing home in Maryland where the conditions were terrible, even worse than many jails. He developed seizures, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia, and was on a feeding tube. Two doctors even asked if I wanted to pull the plug. That’s when I knew I needed to find a place where people really cared. Myrtle Beach Manor was that place. My father started improving within just a few days. After a little more than a month of the loving care from the whole staff, he no longer has seizures, doesn’t need oxygen, his diabetes is gone, he’s off the feeding tube, eating real food, and walking on his own. It’s like nothing ever happened. I’m forever grateful to everyone there.
