"Hidden Gem: Oakview Assisted Living"

I checked out 6 places near my house. Two were terrible. Two were big and noisy, with lots of floors. One was too pricey and huge. Then I stumbled upon Oakview. I drove past it accidentally! After some digging and help from A Home for Mom, I talked to Oakview and decided it was the best. Here's why: - It's just a 10-minute drive from my home. - It's small and cozy. - It's fairly new, friendly, and really clean. - The atmosphere is cheerful and relaxed. - There are enough aides, CNAs, and nurses for the residents. - My one-bedroom apartment is lovely and a good size. - And the best part is, it's affordable! Oakview turned out to be a great find for me.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

This place needs more staff. On Sunday, one lady handled everything for all 42 residents. Promised tasks go undone, and medicine arrives late. The new employees lack experience. Activities have improved, but resident participation falls short. Overall, it doesn't match what we were promised. Regular check-ins are lacking, and a night/weekend RN is necessary. The NP only visits on Tuesdays. Food quality is good, but there's room for improvement. My loved one is content, but I have concerns.

"Oakview Park Assisted Living: Bad Experience Overall"

My family member stayed at this place and I wouldn't suggest it because of how they acted towards us and the issues we faced. My family member had a problem and ended up in hospital. Oakview Park said he needed rehab after the hospital and could then return. When rehab was done, Oakview Park wouldn't let him return. They didn't check on him or anything. We had to rush to find another place for him. What's worse, they tried to bill me for not providing two weeks notice. They're the ones who refused him! It was a truly awful experience and I wouldn't advise anyone to use them.

"Assisted Living Falls Short: Broken Promises and Lack of Care"

This review is from a stay back in November of 2021. The marketing was good, but things didn't work out as expected. We paid to lock in her rent, but didn't get our money back when she left. It took a long time to find her call bell. When my sister asked for help, they kept saying someone else handles it. Eventually, my sister found it herself, but it was frustrating. She fell twice. After the first fall, they didn't keep a close eye on her, and she fell again and broke her hip. They didn't seem concerned about her or her cat. There weren't enough staff around. Residents were helping each other, and sometimes it took 45 minutes for someone to respond to her call bell. There were some nice people, but they didn't keep many of their promises. This place might be okay for someone more independent, but it wasn't right for us.

"Oakview Park: A Nice Place for Loved Ones"

In terms of finding a place for a loved one, Oakview Park is really nice. The facility is open and clean, and the staff are friendly. We've had some issues with medication, but they do listen to our concerns. My loved one wishes the food quality was better, with more variety. Overall, it's a nice place.

"Caring Assisted Living at Oakview Park"

My aunt lives at Oakview Park, and she calls it her 'home'! She has a roommate she adores, like a sister. The atmosphere is friendly, and they genuinely care for the patients. It's great that my aunt is close by.

"Disappointed with Canceled Exercise Activities at Similar Priced Facility"

The cost was about the same as other places, but I was let down that the planned exercise activity wasn't happening. Folks living there also said it didn't happen the day before.

"High Costs, Poor Services at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom's been at this assisted living facility for roughly a year. I've joined her for a few meals and I'm not happy with the food there. Portions are small, and everything is either fried and from a can. There's no variety plus you can't change anything on the menu. When you need help, it can take 2 hours or more. Lots of staff leave and there's always new faces. We also found some charges on the bill that we didn't ask for. A few times, her medicine didn't look right. Unfortunately, they won't let a delivery service bring her medicine or else she could take it herself. I wonder if it's because they're making money from being the only ones to give prescriptions. They used to have rides to the doctor twice a week, now only on Tuesday. When we're paying over $3k a month, the services should be amazing – or at least really good. I don't suggest anyone else send their loved ones here. We have dealt with other places before and know certain things are the same everywhere, but this place has been especially disappointing.

"Impressive New Facility, Highly Recommended"

We loved Oakview Park. It’s a new place, and we were really impressed by the atmosphere. We talked to some residents during our tour, and they recommended it highly. One lively 94-year-old patient told us she liked it there and was treated well by the staff. We felt it would meet all our needs.

"Settling In"

My brother is adjusting well at Oakview Park. The place feels friendly, clean, and well-maintained. Staff promptly assist him, though food variety is limited. Activities are available for residents. I recommend this community.
