"Lack of cleanliness and maintenance issues mar assisted living experience"
When I first visited Pinewood, I thought it was great and got to see a sample room. When my mom moved in, things seemed fine. Then, a different company took over, and I'm not sure if that's why things went downhill. As time passed, things got worse. I kept asking for help, like fixing a leaky sink that turned into mold. The management never fixed it. They also didn't clean my mom's room regularly. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and under the sink. They did her laundry once, but there was an ink pen in the dryer, so all her clothes got ink spots. They didn't mention it and just delivered the clothes to her. I guess they thought she wouldn't notice? I was mostly upset about how dirty her room was.

"Mixed Experience at Pinewood Square Assisted Living"
Some of the staff at Pinewood Square are great, helpful, and caring, but others seem like they don't want to be bothered. The housekeeping is good and the food is okay, but it would be nice to have more variety with meals. Communication with families is just okay, and the levels of care could be explained better. They need more trained staff because sometimes they aren't responsive, even though the contract says they should be. You don't always get what you paid for, so it feels expensive. I'm not sure if I would recommend this place to others.

"Top-notch care, homey feel, happy mom."
They recently changed staff, and it's taking time to adjust. Things aren't perfect like before, but we hope it's temporary. The new chef's food is amazing. If you prioritize care over appearance, this place is top-notch homey and personalized.

"The facility lacks proper care and staffing."
Recently, when I visited my loved one, her room smelled like urine. There were piles of dirty laundry, and it seemed like they weren't taking proper care of her. I think it's because they don't have enough staff. But I was really upset about the condition my loved one was in.
