"Management listens, but staff need proper training"
Care and food got better. The management listens and fixes issues if you talk to upper management. Make sure staff are certified or trained to help with certain conditions. My mom needed a back brace after surgery, but they couldn't put it on properly because no one was trained for it.

"Great staff, good food, lovely unit"
We are really liking Portside. The staff who help my parents every day are wonderful, kind, and empathetic. The medical staff are good, but hard to reach, which I don't like as much. The front desk people are great and very nice to my parents. The dining room staff are very patient! We have enjoyed the food here, especially the homemade soups. My father is dying, but we will keep my mom in the same lovely two-bedroom unit. It's big and airy.

"Portside at Grande Dunes: Recommended!"
I'd suggest anyone considering Portside at Grande Dunes to ask questions and talk to the directors about the 'level of care.' Based on our experience, I'd recommend the facility to others.

"Limited Variety and Costly Dining Disappointments in Assisted Living"
The activities need more variety; they're the same each week. It costs a lot; there should be an option to skip dining to save money. Mom eats and cooks in her apartment because the dining room is messy, and the food isn't always good. I hope this helps them get better. Other people have similar complaints, but many are happy there.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
We chose this place because it looked nice, and the staff were friendly. But the care they promised isn’t what we’re getting. Hoping for improvements soon.

"Friendly Staff and Great Apartments!"
We picked Portside at Grande Dunes because my brother lives nearby, and he really liked the place. When I visited, I understood why. The staff was super friendly and caring. The apartments are spacious, and the food is tasty. We did have a few issues with the phone initially, but overall, I'd recommend them.
