"Neglected Patient: Doctor Ignores Urgent Calls for Help"

Everything about our experience was terrible. We needed the doctor for my Dad, but even after we asked her twice, she never showed up. In the meantime, my Dad had a stroke. I called her the moment we got to the hospital. I told her about my Dad's symptoms, but she didn't even return my call for almost a week.

"The Palms Needs Improvement Despite Friendly Staff"

My mom lives at The Palms of Mt Pleasant. Most of the staff are nice. Mom likes it there, but things have gotten worse since she moved in. When we need assisted living, we'll check other places. The Palms doesn't have enough staff and needs lots of repairs.

"Dedicated Staff but Understaffed Facilities"

I think people should know that even though the staff are really busy, they do take good care of us and make sure we have everything we need. They're always nice, helpful, and quick to respond. You'll see lots of friendly faces around. However, there aren't enough workers for the kitchen, wait staff, housekeeping, maintenance, and medical teams, so they're all really busy. There are 3-4 different sizes and layouts of apartments to choose from, depending on what you want and need.

"Mixed Experience at The Palms Assisted Living"

The Palms was a pleasant place to live. The food was better than average, and most residents were friendly. However, it was more than I needed, and the insect problem persisted despite some spraying. I appreciated the camaraderie with other clients and the staff's friendliness, as well as the building's decor.

"Good Assisted Living with Minor Issues"

Nice and helpful staff. Quick problem-solving. Services include barber, podiatrists, and PT. They address issues well and organize activities for residents. My dad used to stay in his room, but now he attends gatherings and makes friends. There were some problems like water leaks and broken appliances in the dining area, which took a while to fix. Also, they raised the rent $[removed] after just 5 months. Overall, it’s a good place, and I’d recommend it to other families.

"Affordable with great people, but slightly run-down and distant."

Our visit to Palms of Mt. Pleasant was really good. The staff were nice and friendly. It's cheaper than other places we looked at. The building is a bit old and could use some fixing up, plus it's farther from my home.

"Nice Place, No Balconies"

I visited this community, and it was my second pick. It’s a really nice place. But the apartments lack balconies, which matters to me.

"Mixed Experience at Palms of Mt. Pleasant"

We visited Palms of Mt. Pleasant, and the building seemed a little old-fashioned. The staff and residents didn't seem as cheerful and welcoming as another place we considered.

"Good Place, but Needs Better Food and Activities"

The food here isn't as good as it used to be. People who have been here a long time say it used to be really good, but now it's just okay. The activities also need to get better. Besides these two things, we would tell others to choose Palms of Mt. Pleasant.

"Well-Kept Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff"

I visited this place when we were checking out places for my family member's care. It looked really nice and tidy, and the people who worked there were nice and seemed like they knew what they were doing. We chose a different place in the end, but I would've thought about this one too.

"Alright, but needs better care."

My parents live there. My dad had a stroke and can’t talk. I’ve asked them to find him a buddy for activities, but it hasn’t happened. The staff is nice, though—they try to fix things.

"Mom's happy and safe at The Palms great job overall!"

We love The Palms of Mount Pleasant. At first, there was a little hiccup when they said they'd have a one-bedroom for Mom but didn't. Yet, they worked really hard to fix it. Now Mom's first in line for the next available one. Despite that bump, they're doing a fantastic job here! Mom feels super content and safe, and that makes us happy too.

"Lovely Southern Belle"

The Palms stood out after our extensive research. We sought a place near family, with a favorable climate and cultural activities. Charleston, SC fit the bill. The spirit here, both among staff and residents, made us feel at home. Despite its age, The Palms has charm and offers delightful dining and varied activities. We're thrilled with our choice!

"Perfect choice for a smooth transition and easy living"

The staff and residents at the Palms were really welcoming, caring, and helpful. They went out of their way to make our 93-year-old parents feel at home. We visited a few other places, but the Palms turned out to be the best fit. We especially liked that everything apartments and activities is all in one building, so we didn’t have to deal with sidewalks or roads.

"Didn’t leave a lasting impression on me"

This would’ve been my third choice. I noticed people slumped over in wheelchairs, but that happened in all the places I visited. It’s common in Alzheimer’s facilities due to the time of day. When I went later, people were a bit slower, but I expected that. The facility was very clean. The Palms has three levels: assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing—all in one place, which is pretty convenient. I initially walked into the assisted living area, but they guided me to the memory care facility. Overall, it’s a nice place, but it didn’t make a lasting impression on me.
