"Staffing Challenges in Memory Care, Overall Good Experience"
We use American House Bristol for Memory Care for our loved one, so activities aren't a big deal for us. The place doesn't have enough staff, especially on the Memory Care side. The cleaning in the assisted living part seems great, but in Memory Care, it's just okay. Memory Care has its issues because of the residents. I think they're trying their best with the staff they have, but they could do better if they had more staff. Overall, not everyone can handle Memory Care, and that's important to consider.

"Medicaid-approved facility with resident satisfaction."
I'd suggest them. They're approved for Medicaid, so residents don't need to move if they outlive their money. Overall, I'm satisfied.

"Mixed feelings about American House Bristol's care and activities"
Some of the staff at American House Bristol have been really nice, especially the nursing staff. However, our mom has dementia and struggles with walking now. Unlike her previous facility where she enjoyed participating in activities like Bingo and crafts with friends, she mostly stays in her room here because no one encourages her to join in. She used to talk about these activities all the time. The food isn't as good as we expected either. Mom can't see well and has dementia, so she doesn't know to ask for different food. She would prefer classic country dishes like green beans, cornbread, coleslaw, and potatoes (not French fries). She doesn't like eggs and eats very little meat. Housekeeping isn't always on top of things; sometimes mom runs out of toilet paper. Her TV is hard for her to use, even though she has good eyesight and understanding. When we moved her in, our family worked together and everything went smoothly. At her previous place, the staff knew not just her name but ours too. We've tried calling and emailing American House Bristol, but aside from [name removed], we haven't heard back. We chose American House Bristol mainly because of the price and the nursing staff, but if not for that, we'd say her old place was better. There, she interacted with others more and seemed happier.

"Needs Improvement but Good Setting"
American House Bristol sits in a pretty spot, feels homey, and has a country vibe. It’s also super patriotic. But, they should have fun stuff to do every day for folks with memory issues. The food should have more greens and less heavy stuff like starches. Some small pieces of fresh fruit would be nice too. Also, it’d be great if each person got a water cup with a cover and a straw in their room every day. A lot of them need to drink more water but might not remember to ask.

"Widespread Neglect and Lack of Care at American House"
American House was a total nightmare. My mom stayed at the Bristol location for only three months, but we were upset all the time. She had to go to the hospital after breaking her wrist within the first month. Her room was always dirty and she didn't get baths often. There was never anybody watching the residents who were walking around the hallways. I never saw the workers engaging with the residents or doing fun activities with them. One thing I was told a lot, was that no matter when I took my mom out of there, I'd still have to pay for a whole month. I've got a lot of things I didn't like, but there's not enough room to talk about them all. The last straw that made me take my mom out of there was when I found her with a super swollen ankle and wrist. They told me she fell in the courtyard because nobody was watching her. They really need to change their staff if this place is going to be safe and caring for old people.

"Needs More Food Options, Otherwise Nice Community"
The community should offer more food choices. It's a really nice place, and I would suggest this community to others for their loved ones. At first, they changed staff a lot. This was tough for my loved one.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
It was well-prepared and answered all of my questions. The facility is nice, with spacious rooms, although they seemed dark. In the memory care area, the floor was sticky today, but that could be an isolated incident. There was a noticeable smell of feces near the room we toured, likely due to an accident just before our visit. However, we spoke with the daughter of a resident who expressed satisfaction with the facility. She felt confident her mom would receive good care and be treated well.

"Care Home Neglects Basic Services, Offers Subpar Food"
This care facility is severely lacking in staff, and can't properly attend to the needs of the people living here. Your medication might be delivered timely, or it could be delayed by several hours. The quality of the food they serve is so poor, I wouldn't even feed it to my pet on a regular basis. Residents often have to deal with monotonous meals for a week or two. I've even heard they sometimes don't have a nurse on duty, something that will definitely not be looked upon favorably by the state authorities when they find out.

"Avoid This Filthy, Poorly Supervised Assisted Living Facility"
This facility was really gross; the rooms had a foul smell of urine and feces. There was a complete lack of supervision; the residents were left completely to their own. I wouldn't suggest this place at all!

"Broadmore Tour: Liked but Expensive"
I went to see Broadmore with the staff and I really liked it. However, it's too pricey for me right now.
