"Facility Lacks Care, Trust: Poor Food, Overcharging, and Negligence"
We decided to relocate our family member from this facility in November. We felt there were not enough staff members, and the quality of the food was seriously lacking. We weren't the only ones leaving either, several others were moving out too. Mysteriously, they would bill us for certain services that they were unable to justify. In fact, we were wrongly billed for a room for an entire month when our loved one wasn't even there. Their memory care unit didn't provide enough activities and rarely arranged any musical outings for the residents. The person in charge of activities seemed to do nothing but play videos for the residents all day. Moreover, our trust was betrayed when certain staff members made false promises and were caught in their web of deceit. Sadly, personal items went missing from my dad's room and were never returned, despite the fact that they were required by a doctor's order to be there. And adding insult to injury, a pair of my dad's pants was tossed instead of making efforts to locate the rightful owner.

"Great Place, Needs More Staff"
I've had different friends and relatives at 9 different Assisted Living places in the Tri Cities, and American House is the best of them all. The rooms are bright and well set up. The food is better than most places, and there are lots of activities most days and several outdoor areas to enjoy. The best thing about American House is the STAFF. The nurses, CNAs, and RAs are patient, caring, kind, and enthusiastic - the best I've ever seen! BUT American House doesn't have enough staff. They're always short by 1 to 2 people every shift in every position. The current staff is doing a great job, but they can't keep up! American House needs to hire and keep good staff (pay them better!). Because of this shortage, they've been late with meals, showers, and answering the phone. They're also late helping with personal grooming and can't take time for small, important moments like doing a puzzle or watching a bird with a resident.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Our time here has been a bit frustrating. It's not super clean. The people in charge aren't very helpful. We're not kept in the loop. They make big promises but don't keep them. Not very professional. But the care in the memory care unit has been good. The food is okay, but some older folks say it's not as good as before. The activities they have are a bit dull. They need more fun stuff to do. It's not the best value for the money. We just found out we have to buy insurance for memory care, and we have to bring all our own stuff. Make sure to ask for a detailed bill. We're still having problems after months.

"Peaceful, Friendly, and Inclusive Care"
This place is really nice. I like how peaceful it feels here. It's very calming. The people are all friendly. They take good care of us. They tell our family everything and keep them updated. That makes me feel sure that Mom is doing well. The food is good. Before, her old place charged for each thing and raised prices a lot in a few months. This place has one price for everything. At first, they helped us find a room that fit our money. That was really helpful. I would tell my family and friends to go here.

They're making facility improvements, but response time needs work. Good activities and meals. Great value.

"Frustrating Pandemic Restrictions and Staff Response Concerns at Assisted Living"
Due to the pandemic, the community still has rules that are annoying because we always have to call and set up a time to visit our loved one. Another issue is that sometimes the staff aren't fast enough to assist our loved one with their daily needs.

"Spacious Assisted Living Community with Friendly Staff, Consideration Worthy"
I checked out this place when we were looking for care for someone we care about. The place was neat and tidy, and everyone I met who worked there was nice and acted like pros. It was pretty big, though, which I didn't think would be the best fit for us. We chose a different place in the end, but I would've thought about this one for our loved one.

"Mixed Experience with Broadmore Assisted Living"
Overall, it was okay. CNAs were great. Nurses okay. Office staff rude. CNAs and RAs caring and easy to talk to. Need more staff. Office staff need attitude adjustment, except the staff.

"Close to Family"
We picked Broadmore because it's near family and easy to visit. The cost is reasonable, and they offer competitive services. Some activities are religion-based, which is a bit unique. Overall, we're content with Broadmore Senior Living.
