"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Basic Care Standards"
My family member stayed there. The room is mostly clean, but the toilet is always dirty with weeks of stains! It's hard to reach the care management team. I've left messages, but they never call back. When I call, they're always unavailable, and no one knows when they'll be back. During visits, I've seen feces on the floor and pillow, making the room stink terribly! It's a health hazard! My loved one, like many dementia patients, doesn't like to shower, but the staff can't persuade them. There aren't enough staff, and they keep leaving. This place cares more about money than providing good care.

"Comfortable One-Level Facility with Caring Staff"
The respite stay required two weeks initially, though they mentioned the possibility of one week for future visits. It cost more than other places I checked out, but everything was conveniently on a single floor, making it easier for Mom to adjust. We were happy with the care provided and would definitely think about using this facility again for Respite Care.

"Inadequate Care Facility: Staff Yells, Neglects Dietary Needs"
This place should be closed. I've seen the staff shouting at residents, something even outsiders taking care of residents have noticed. They don't even bother to ensure that your relative is eating what's given to them, and they get annoyed when asked to serve different meals. They're even shouting and swearing at the memory care residents, telling them to stay in their rooms at night.

"Great facility with caring staff and lots of activities!"
Finding a place for my mom was tough because there weren’t many assisted living facilities near us that accepted Alzheimer’s patients. I needed her to be within an hour's drive from both my home and her old home, without being close to Nashville traffic. I’m sure I made the right choice for her. Brookdale Columbia ticked all the boxes and felt right during all my visits. I love the staff and the activities that keep my mom active and her mind sharp. The facility has a nice circular layout around a green space where residents can safely enjoy the outdoors. In the summer, some residents grew flowers and had their own container gardens. I appreciate that my mom can get fresh air and enjoy the birds and flowers without worrying about her wandering off. The rooms are spacious and feel like small apartments rather than hospital rooms. It’s very clean, the food is good, and the staff often interacts with her, making her laugh. My mom loves showing off her decorated “apartment” to visitors and sharing Little Debbie snacks from her mini kitchen. She has settled in well and now calls it home. This was a big move, from a farm in a rural area to an apartment in the city, and I credit the wonderful staff for helping her through this change. Overall, I’m happy with my decision, knowing my mom is safe, eating well, taking her meds, and getting daily exercises and social interactions. Some residents have small pets, which lift her spirits too. She is happy, which is the best outcome after a long search. I love Brookdale Columbia and its caring staff! I’m even thinking about living here myself!

"Top-notch assisted living facility with friendly staff and clean environment."
We visited this place while considering care for a family member. I really liked it! The staff we met were super nice, and the building was really well-maintained and clean. Our loved one decided not to move into a senior community right now, but if that changes, this place is our first choice!

"Not Much Going On, Confusing Billing System"
They don’t seem to do much here. He spends all day watching TV in his room. He needs more than just mingling to feel encouraged. The food doesn’t make him happy. The billing system is really confusing. We chose this place because we liked the courtyard layout, where residents can be outside safely.

"“Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility”"
I moved my brother to this place so he’d be closer to me, but it’s not as good as his old home. It’s hard to find nurses or caregivers when you need them. They don’t pay much attention to the residents. There’s not much to do here—people mostly stay in their rooms. The billing is confusing, and they might overcharge you. I’ve talked to the staff, but no one’s been helpful.
