"Mom Thrives with Improved Care at Memphis Assisted Living"
My sister and brother live in Memphis and often visit our mom, who stays at this facility. They've had some problems in the past, but everything seems to be fixed now. I'm happy because my mom has gained weight and speaks more clearly when I talk to her on the phone.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My Mom was okay at first. Then, her stuff got stolen. The food was bad, always cold. People hardly ate. The helpers were mean, talked badly to them. Mom stayed in memory care. Once, I found her cold, no sheets. She asked for water and got refused. I moved her out right away.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
Ask plenty of questions and get everything in writing. Negotiate for better terms. Staff shortages are a big problem affecting service quality. This seems to be a widespread issue both nationally and locally. The dining room hasn't met our expectations since we moved in—it's been disappointing. The facility is showing its age; things like carpets and paint need updating, especially in common areas. Getting corporate to make these improvements has been a struggle. Despite this, the staff is really wonderful. I feel confident that my mom is safe and well cared for when I can't be there.

"Disappointing Care and Unresponsive Management at Brookdale"
My mom was living at Brookdale for almost two weeks. We had to leave due to their poor care. They didn't have enough staff. The bosses didn't listen when I brought up the problems. Even though their brochures made them look good, the real care they gave was terrible. The building was in good shape and didn't smell bad. However, they didn't have enough workers, their manner was unprofessional, and the people in charge did nothing.

"Unimpressed with Brookdale Dogwood Creek's Memory Care"
My family member stayed at Brookdale Dogwood Creek, and honestly, we weren't happy with it. They weren't very good at handling Memory Care. I wouldn't suggest it to relatives or buddies.

"Caring Community with Minor Hiccups"
I'm mostly happy, but there were a few small issues. The staff communicates well, and they take good care of my challenging Mom. I'd suggest this place to other families.

"Friendly Staff and Great Tour Experience!"
Our family had a great in-person tour. The staff were super friendly, and it would've been our top choice for our loved one.

"Assisted Living Falls Short of Expectations"
I thought the community was too strict. It wasn't what I wanted for my loved one. I needed a more open place.

"Activities and Promises Need Improvement"
My family member stayed at a different place before and got better care there. I wish they had more activities for people in memory care. When we started, they said my loved one could do therapy in the pool, but that hasn't happened.

"Mixed Feelings About Facility; Dismissive Staff, Isolated Sections"
The place was nice overall, but there were a couple of things I didn’t like. First, the different parts like independent living, assisted living, and memory care felt too separated because of Covid. This made each area seem too small. Second, during our tour, a resident asked for help with directions and the tour guide seemed dismissive, which concerned me. She seemed more focused on selling to us than helping the residents.

Our family went on a tour of the assisted living facility in person, and it turned out to be a pretty good experience overall.

"Limited Tour Experience Due to COVID Restrictions"
Our family got to tour the place in person. It was alright, but there were a bunch of rules, so we couldn't see everything they had.

"Issues with Housekeeping Staff and Activities are Satisfactory"
Our biggest problem has been with housekeeping. I think there aren't enough workers at Brookdale. The lady who cleans my loved one's room doesn't do a thorough job. We want the bathroom cleaned, the linens changed, and the floors vacuumed. These are all things they're supposed to do, and we don't expect anything more. The staff has been nice and helpful. They know what they're doing. They respond quickly, usually within an hour, if something needs to be fixed. They have a good schedule of things to do. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy.

"Assisted Living Costs Too Much for What You Get"
This place was fancier and pricier than what we preferred.
