"Mixed experiences at Brookdale Green Hills Cumberland assisted living facility."
Review: The people at Brookdale Green Hills Cumberland are usually nice, but sometimes not helpful. Sometimes, when I call them, they don't call me back for days, or even not at all. A few times, the staff were very rude to me. The place is cleaned well by the cleaning staff, but the rooms might not be as tidy. There was a spill on the floor in my parents' room that no one cleaned up for over a week. They do let the family know when something big happens, like if a patient falls, but they don't always tell us everything. Sometimes, my parents tell me about a fall before the staff does, and they even ask me to come help them because no one is answering their emergency buttons. I've had to go there late at night a few times because they haven't been helping my parents. The movers and decorators were very helpful and did a great job, but my parents didn't have a working phone for over a month, even though I tried really hard to get it fixed. The food is good quality, but the people serving it have caused problems. Most of them are nice, but one time my parents and I had a really bad experience because the staff were so rude. They can bring meals to the room, but you have to pay extra for that, and even then, they might not bring the food. Sometimes, my parents have been too sick to go to the dining hall, but no one brings them food or tells them to eat. I wouldn't tell others to go to Brookdale Green Hills Cumberland.

"Mixed Feelings About Formal Atmosphere"
It was a nice tour. The community felt less welcoming than other places, with a more formal vibe.

"More Staff Needed for Better Nighttime Care"
They need more staff, especially at night. One nurse isn't enough; trained care personnel would help.

"Disorganized tour and facility under health lock, not impressed."
The person showing us around was delayed, the facility was not accepting visitors due to health concerns, but they had still scheduled our tour. Everything seemed hectic, messy, there weren't enough employees around, and we decided to leave only 11 minutes after the time our tour was supposed to begin. I wasn't impressed at all.

"The Best I Could Find"
My parent lives in the Memory Care Unit. This is the third Assisted Living place they've been in over the past 3 years. It's better than the other two. The facility is very clean, and the care is better. However, my parent doesn't like it and is always asleep, no matter when I visit. I'm not a fan of the process for getting in and out—you have to call and wait, then find someone to let you out. I'm not sure why it's done this way. After shopping around for over 6 months, I think this is the best option overall. I appreciate the Director of Nursing, who is an R.N. She's always available and knowledgeable about medicine and the medical community. The atmosphere is calm and serene. I'm disappointed that my parent isn't more involved, but I've given up. Also, there were a lot of promises made that I haven't seen.
