"Facility Falls Short on Promises"
My husband's parents stayed there for about two weeks. The food wasn't great, and they seemed short-staffed. Activities were rare, and when they did happen, they were quite disappointing. For instance, the so-called 'creative art activity' was just coloring with markers. Despite the friendly residents, the facility didn't live up to its reputation.

"Convenient and Friendly Assisted Living with Great Activities Director"
We chose this community because it's close to my home, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the cost is reasonable. Overall, it's been mostly good. The person who plans activities is really good.

"Friendly Staff and Good Meals at The Groves!"
I live at The Groves at Oak Ridge, and it’s been really nice here. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The meals are good, but they could add more fruits and veggies. I’d recommend this place to family and friends.

"Nice Staff and Good Care, Food Could Improve"
The Groves has a really nice and caring staff. The place itself is great, and my mom is happy living here. The nursing staff is good, and [Name removed] is excellent. However, the food could be better. I think the kitchen staff does a good job with what they have.

"Consistent and positive care in a homelike environment"
They really care about Mom. The staff is kind and patient, and they always respond fast when she uses her emergency button. The first thing we noticed when we visited was how homelike and friendly the place felt. There are always residents and staff around in the hallways. Overall, I'm thankful for the consistent and positive care Mom gets.

"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Oak Ridge, TN Assisted Living"
My family member's quirks played a role. Yet, care lacked. Food came (extra charge), but dishes stayed dirty. Reported bugs, no action. I cleaned. Housekeeping missed my late sleeper's room, so I pitched in. Staff were mostly nice, but confusion about care needs. Moved to memory care, still not ideal. Medical staff communication was tough. Outside doctor might've been better.

"Mixed Opinions on Staffing but Excellent Service at Brookdale Oak Ridge"
Brookdale is a pretty good place for older folks who need some help. It would be really nice if they had more people working there all the time, especially nurses. The front desk is really great at her job. The Program Coordinator is also really good. And the people who work in the dining area do a really good job too.

"Review of Brookdale Oak Ridge Assisted Living"
The staff at Brookdale Oak Ridge made my mom feel special. They know the residents' names and interact with them. There are many activities and outings. Laura, the social director, encourages everyone to join her fun activities. Having an exercise room and PT space onsite is very helpful

"Father Thriving in Community Despite Billing Issue"
My dad's really liking it here, except for this billing thing. He's making pals, joining activities, and enjoying the food. The place is clean too. Overall, I'd suggest it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I had an okay visit to this community. The tour went fine, and it was pretty nice. I was checking out memory care options for my dad and assisted living for my mom. The memory care part they showed me wasn't very good. There wasn't much outside space for the memory residents. Everyone was friendly to us, but we found another place that suited our needs better.

"Beautiful and friendly facility, worth considering for loved ones!"
From my tour, this place is really nice! It’s beautiful, and the people there seem friendly. We didn’t pick it just because of where it’s located, but I would have been happy putting my loved one here!

"Horrid Stench Greeted Us Immediately!"
I can't imagine placing my mate here. Instantly, on my visit, the place stunk like pee as I stepped inside. They lit scented candles everywhere to cover up the foul smell but it just amplified it. It was a horrible first experience.

"Brookdale Staff Goes Above and Beyond for Residents"
My friend has lived at Brookdale for over a year, and I’m very impressed. The staff goes above and beyond to fix any issues. From the executive director to the nurses and resident assistants, everyone shows real warmth and care. All the residents seem well cared for, including my friend. Activities, day trips, exercise groups, family nights, and a committee for residents' concerns make Brookdale a place my friend wants to stay. I visit at least twice a week and see how staff, residents, volunteers, and family interact. My friend says they make her feel loved like family. This, along with Brookdale’s overall atmosphere, reassures me that my friend is as safe and happy as possible.

"Untrustworthy Facility Accused of Misconduct"
We're caught up in a legal fight with them. My mom suffers from dementia and paranoia. The staff there took her to get her driving license. They also took her to a lawyer to take over her Power of Attorney, accusing me of mistreating her. This place is terrible, and I strongly advise you to steer clear of this facility.

"No Private Seating Areas"
seems to be the crux of this review. Let's rephrase it in a more straightforward manner for an 8th-grade audience: "They're trying, but there are things I wish were different. The assisted living facility is smaller and newer, but not as good as the previous place. I understand I'm paying less here, but there's nowhere for me to spend time with my mother. Her semi-private room barely fits two twin beds and two chests; there's no space for a folding chair. If she's not in her room, she's either in the dining area or lined up outside it. There's a large TV room, but I have to take her out of the memory care unit to get there. They've changed the door code, making it inconvenient. My main concern is the lack of private seating areas for us to spend time together. The front porch isn't suitable due to the season, and the main lobby isn't private. The staff is nice, and my mother seems to be eating well, but I wish some things were different."¹² And there you have it!
