"Highly Recommended Assisted Living Facility with Modern Amenities"

Laurel Glen at Memphis stood out among the places we visited. It's very updated and nice. When you choose a place like this, it takes time for your loved one to adjust to the schedule, dining, rooms, and staff. You need to stay involved to make sure they're getting the care they need. Overall, I would suggest Laurel Glen to others.

"Nice facility, great staff, but chose a closer place."

I toured this facility and thought it was nice. We were impressed with the staff and the appearance of the place. In the end, we chose another facility that was closer to home. The distance was a major factor in our decision, and this one was a bit farther than we wanted.

"“Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community”"

The place needed an update and wasn’t right for my loved one. The tour guide was nice, but it just wasn’t the right fit.

"Clean Exterior, Active Activities Despite COVID Restrictions"

The place looked clean from outside due to COVID rules. They tried hard with activities. But they didn't assess our loved one right at first.

"Satisfied Overall, Awaiting Better Food Options"

We're mostly content and cheerful, just not with the meals. They've had to bring food to the rooms because of covid, but we're looking forward to tastier options once the dining area is back.

"Convenient and Caring Senior Living Community"

This place is really good for the price. The staff is very helpful, although we had some issues with Covid communication at first, it got better later. The rooms are a bit small, but they are arranged well. The location worked out great for us, and we would suggest this community to others.

I really liked Carriage Court. The people working there were nice and always ready to help. The place felt warm and welcoming. The meals tasted great. The rooms were a good size and well-designed. Plus, they have a nice outdoor area for everyone to enjoy.

"Review: Negligible Quality of Care at Carriage Court Assisted Living"

I'm relieved that I relocated my husband to a different facility before the spike of Covid-19. He stayed at Carriage Court for four years, splitting his time between assisted living and Legacy Court, their secured memory care unit. Initially, the facility was excellent, but as my husband transitioned to Legacy Court, I noticed issues were arising. The staff members changed frequently and were inadequate. The conditions in Legacy Court were gloomy, crowded, and disheartening. Also, the staff’s medical awareness and capabilities were seriously lacking. When I voiced my concerns (even to a nurse), the issues were always blamed on my husband’s health condition worsening. As a medical professional myself, I identified serious medical conditions that needed a doctor's intervention and directed him to the Emergency Room a few times. There was no Director of Nursing for over a year and the facility's records were outdated. I received calls to come and sign backdated documents. The weigh scale was broken and only repaired after I repeatedly raised the issue. They had been guessing on my husband's weight. Care protocols were either shoddy or missing. Water wasn't readily available to residents during meals and I had noticed that the facility did not encourage the residents to stay hydrated. After my husband was hospitalized due to dehydration and put on hospice care, things improved but were still inconsistent. I even started a sign-in protocol for Legacy Court after a sexual assault incident involving my husband caused by an outsider. More often than not, the sign-in book was hard to locate, the pages undated and a pencil not provided. Absolutely careless! My husband was dehydrated thrice in December, each instance resulting in a hospital admission. Despite my efforts to stress on regular water supply to the staff, they seemed oblivious to his dehydration. Upon investigating, I discovered from Tn.Gov that Carriage Court had faced near closure and probation since June 2019, after paying large penalties. I highly regret not shifting my husband earlier. Legacy Court needs a revamp urgently. Better staff, spacious and well-lit rooms, and improved decor are essential. The residents deserve better in general. All care facilities require regular monitoring, ensuring quality standards are met which involve having competent staff, immediacy in medical attention, and stability in ownership.

"Pleasant Assisted Living Facility with Attentive Staff"

I had a nice time visiting the assisted living place. The people working there were really kind and always ready to help. Everything was clean, and the food tasted pretty good. The rooms were a decent size, and there were lots of places outside to enjoy. They need to fix the elevator, though, and make sure they manage medications better. But overall, it was a good experience.

"Careless Management and Lousy Food in Assisted Living Facility"

This facility is always without enough staff at nights and on weekends. The management here seems careless and mostly looks out for their own interests. They rarely provide help or assistance for the requirements of their residents. It seems they couldn't care less about operating with fewer workers, as long as they receive their corporate bonus. The food here is terrible and, unfortunately, they serve meals to residents that are too hard for them to chew.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"

I liked touring and staff were nice. They offer help for living and memory care, but I didn’t like that they use outside nurses. My mom has memory issues, so I worry she won’t bond with them.

"Deplorable Care and Unprofessional Behaviour at Carriage Court"

My grandma means the world to me, which is why I expected nothing but the best for her. Sadly, Carriage Court let us down. The help was always mean, talking down her behavior whenever I came around. The area for memory care patients was dark and isolated, akin to an ominous hospital ward. My grandma was left to wander aimlessly down the facility's lonesome hall. Things to do were hardly there; the staff seemed entirely hooked on their cell phones. My grandma was seldom bathed and properly dressed. Her personal stuff was neglected. For instance, they once took her expensive, soothing, life-like cat toy from her room. They handled it roughly as they played with it, leaving my grandma to retreat into her room. Her new glasses disappeared and never found, the staff couldn't be bothered to search. We were majorly let down by Carriage Court and glad we found a better place for my amazing grandma. On top of it all, they erased this review from their Facebook page within half a day, probably to maintain a facade. (Looks like they only welcome feedback that paints them in a good light.)

"Excellent Care and Food at This Assisted Living Facility"

My mom spent two weeks here to get stronger after surgery. We really felt she got excellent care. We’re happy she was here. The staff is great, and the food is too.

"Budget-Friendly Assisted Living with Bright, Clean Environment"

This place was nice. Inside, it was really bright with lots of windows letting in natural light. It's clean and looks good. The staff was friendly and super helpful during the tour. But the prices were more than we could afford.

"Not a Good Fit for Mom"

We didn't like how this place looked. The person who showed us around was nice, but we didn't think it would be good for our mom.

"Friendly Community with Good Amenities, but Too Large for Us"

We visited this place, and it looked really nice. The people we met were friendly. They seem to have some good amenities and activities. However, the community was a bit larger than what we wanted.
