"Mixed Experience: Great Activities, Mediocre Food"
The things you can do here are really great, but the food isn't that good.

"Brother Thriving at American House Brentwood Assisted Living Facility"
My brother has made friends and has his favorite staff members at American House Brentwood. He mostly likes the food there. He has settled in well and is much healthier than when he arrived. There are a few issues, but we hope to resolve them soon.

"Assisted Living Falls Short on Value and Communication"
I can't speak about all of these places because I don't know how my sister felt about them. But I can tell you that her stay was not great. The staff seemed friendly, and the place looked clean. However, some things we asked for never happened. For example, they promised to set up a TV, but it never happened. Also, my sister was found unresponsive before Christmas, and nobody told our family until I visited her on Christmas Day. She didn't want to go back there. Thankfully, she's now receiving care at home. The value for money was pretty low.

"Mixed Experience: Great Caregivers, Mixed Office Staff"
Caregivers were great, but office staff lacked compassion and capability. Exceptional care from caregivers and housekeepers."

"Weary Experience at American House"
We’ve had lots of problems with American House, and we’re trying to figure some of it out. But overall, we’re really unhappy with this place. The staff changes every time we visit, and nobody knows what’s happening day-to-day. It’s like we’re in the dark about my loved one’s care. She has severe dementia and can’t remember anything. We’ve noticed cleanliness issues in her bed, on her, in her room, and in her bathroom. We even found her medication at the bottom of her walker basket. She sleeps in her clothes because nobody helps her change into pajamas and get into bed at night. They’re supposed to use a wheelchair to move her around, but they just pop in and say it’s breakfast time, then leave. We don’t know if she’s getting the right meals or medications. Her level of care is a mystery. If we could, we’d move her in a heartbeat, but the last move was traumatic, and we don’t want to put her through that again.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
During the day, the community is okay and not a terrible place for your loved one. However, in the evening and overnight, things change. It seems like no one watches the residents as closely as they should or handles their issues promptly. On the positive side, the staff communicates well with families and responds to our questions and concerns.

"Nice one-story place with daily activities"
I would recommend this place. It's really nice and only one story, which is great for my parents. We like it here. They have fun activities like a singer and bingo to keep everyone busy. My parents don't join in much, but there's always something to do every day.

"Understaffed Facility with High Costs, but Caring Staff"
The staff is too small to properly cover services. The service cost is high, as is the TV price. However, the existing staff is caring and very good.

"Staff Goes Above and Beyond"
I'm happy with everything this place has done for my mom, and I really appreciate the staff. They've gone above and beyond to help her feel comfortable in her living space. Overall, we have no complaints and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

"Strong Dislike, Unpleasant Odor, and Concerning Vibes"
I really didn't enjoy this place. The instant I walked in, I felt super awkward. The gross smell of pee was unbearable, even though they tried to cover it with air fresheners but, it just got worse. The memory care section made me even more scared to leave my dad there. I got a super negative feeling when I entered.

"A Pleasant Experience"
This community is fantastic! It was one of my top choices for my father. Unfortunately, they didn't have any available space during our tour. The community is really nice and clean, and the staff was friendly and informative. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

"Nice place, just wrong fit."
I really liked how the staff interacted with the residents, and everyone had smiles. The place looked bright and welcoming with natural light and a courtyard. Even the smallest studio was cute and clean. However, the activities seemed more suited for an older crowd, like 'Cokes & Jokes' and watching 'The Andy Griffith Show.' Unfortunately, there wasn't a book club or other intellectually stimulating activities. Also, no activity room or gym. Overall, it just didn't match my loved one's personality.

"Mixed feelings about Elmcroft: Convenient but something felt off"
It was okay. The good thing about Elmcroft was that it was near my son's office. We chose to keep her in Charleston, but even if we had moved her, I don't think we would've picked this place. I can't really explain it, but there was just a feeling that it wasn't the right fit when we visited.

"Effort Required to Ensure Tasks; Mediocre Food and Medication Issues"
Staying on track with tasks is crucial. Things don't happen automatically; constant reminders are necessary. Activities are available, but participation varies. Food quality disappoints, not preferable. Medication mix-ups occurred, raising concerns. Proximity to family is a plus.

"Great to Work With"
We only had her stay at Elmcroft for one night before she fell and went to the hospital, but our experience with Elmcroft was great from the start. Matt and Tina were wonderful to work with. We spent 2 months preparing to move her to Nashville. I looked at a few other places, but I focused on Elmcroft. It was clearly the best choice—the management, facility, and location were all top-notch.
