"Friendly Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"
This place is nice, clean, and the staff are friendly. In the memory care unit, a caregiver isn’t always in the main room.

"A Caring and Safe Environment with Good Value for Money"
So far, I'm happy with this place. We chose it because it looked like it cared about us and was safe, and it seemed like a good deal for what it costs.

"Positive Tour Experience at American House Kingsport"
We had a really good tour at American House Kingsport. We liked the activities they offered, they seemed fun. The rooms were set up nicely. They were a bit pushy about when our loved one would move in, which we didn't like, but besides that, it was a great tour.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care and Staffing Issues"
They didn't take good care of my loved one. When I visited him, he was dirty and smelly, with long, unkempt hair. They were supposed to have a barber, but they didn't. I hadn't seen him for two weeks, and he seemed like a different, depressed person. It was much better when it was called Elmcroft. The food was good, and the director managed it well. But when it became American House, there weren't enough staff. For example, the custodian had to let you in due to staffing issues. It was pitiful and not worth the money. It seemed like American House cared more about making money than patient care.

"Terrible food and service, high prices at this facility"
The food here is really bad. One of the staff members said something mean about my Mom on Facebook. My Mom was yelling in pain for a long time because they didn't order her pain medicine on time. The price for the smallest room is more than $4000 a month. I tried so many times to talk to the bosses about the problems, but they didn't do anything.

"Feels Like Family"
As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you're part of a family and community. The staff is friendly, always smiling, and ready to help with any questions or needs. The menu offers a variety of dishes every day, and residents can choose what they want. The kitchen staff works hard to make sure everyone is happy, and I've enjoyed many tasty meals there. The community offers different activities each day like Bingo, Cornhole Competitions, Singing, Brain Games, Bible Study, and more. Fridays are special because residents can go out to a restaurant as a group and sometimes do a little shopping. Doctors visit Elmcroft twice a week, and a nurse gives out medication and helps in other ways. If a resident needs to go to the Veteran's Hospital for appointments, transportation is arranged. There are also now PT services on-site. Finally, I love sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs, enjoying the view.
