"Lacking Communication"
The people who run the place need improvement. The office staff rarely respond, and repairs take forever. Nice apartments, but communication is lacking.

"Friendly Staff, Great for Amputees, Remodeling in Progress"
We really appreciate the kind staff and neighbors here. Our family member, who has lost a limb, finds it comfortable. They’re fixing up the place, and she’s excited to move into a new apartment on the ground floor that’s made for someone with her needs.

"Great Rooms, Delicious Food, and Responsive Staff"
Keep reminding the staff to check on the residents. We had a problem when my dad fell, but they responded quickly. The rooms are really nice, and the food is delicious with a lot of choices. I have already told others about this place.

"Mixed Bag at Assisted Living Facility"
The new folks in charge took over on June 1st. I appreciated the gated setup and the fact that it was only two stories tall. The staff, though, was a bit all over the place. The food was decent, and the room layout was passable. But there was no outdoor area for sitting, and security was lacking when it came to walking dogs or being outside. Plus, there's no transportation service.

"Clean and Helpful Assisted Living with Happy Residents"
The facility was really clean. When we arrived for our appointment, they didn't seem to be expecting us. The person at the front desk gave us a tour and was really helpful. We're searching for an apartment that's wheelchair accessible for our Mother. We found a few floor plans that we liked and we plan to come back later in the week to get more information. Lunch was excellent, and there was a lot of interaction with the happy residents. The staff was super friendly and knew a lot.

"Unfair practices and poor conditions at assisted living facility"
They don't provide any activities for the residents who need assisted living. Those residents are treated poorly, almost like unwanted stepchildren. Moreover, they do not get the same quality of food as those in independent living. Despite residents paying a lot of money to live there, they have to hustle to the nursing station for toilet paper and they're billed for more than two rolls a week. The overall atmosphere is depressing. The management is incapable or unwilling to change things for the better. I would never recommend this place to anyone.’

"Gloomy Assisted Living needs Major Facelift, Especially Memory Care"
This spot felt gloomy. It urgently needs some sprucing up, particularly in the memory care department.

"Mixed Feelings: Safe Yet Needs Improvement, Independent Living"
This place isn't as bad as it seems. I feel safe inside because it's gated. But the parking lot gets dark at night, which can be scary if you drive in late. They need more lights and some of the fences need fixing. Overall, it's pretty well-kept with lots of things to do. The food in the dining room isn't great, but each apartment has its own kitchen. There's usually someone around if you need help in the common areas. Each apartment has its own heating and cooling system. There are laundry rooms at the end of each hall, and some apartments have washers and dryers. Sometimes the smoke alarm goes off because someone's smoking in their apartment, and we're not sure if it's a real emergency or not. They really need a PA system for safety. Despite these issues, the monthly fee is reasonable, covering rent, utilities, meals, cable, laundry, activities, and transportation for shopping and doctor's appointments. It's independent living, so you can come and go as you please as long as you're able to. And if you need help, there's always someone there for you.

"Poor Communication and Absence Show Kennington Point's Lack of Commitment"
Caring.com recommended Kennington Point in Memphis to me, so I reached out to them on an undisclosed date with some questions before setting up a visit. The person who picked up the phone claimed they were in a resident's room and couldn't transfer my call. They told me that two unnamed people would return my call. When one of the unnamed persons finally called back, they stated that the Clinical Director needed to visit our home on a certain Wednesday at 9 AM to assess my husband's needs. When that day rolled around, no one showed up. I contacted the individual who called me first at 10:20 AM, informing him that the Director had not arrived. He promised to return the call after discussing the matter with her. I never did get that callback. Their disappointing service, poor communication, and lack of dedication make me believe this place can't be managed properly.

"Low-Quality Living Conditions Unfavorable for Loved Ones"
I recently visited this assisted living facility to check out the studio and one-bedroom units they offer. Some have little Juliet balconies, and they all have air conditioning and heating like what you'd find in a hotel, situated in the living room with a fan in the wall to push the air into the bedroom. The bedrooms had pretty large walk-in closets and the bathrooms are fitted with step-in showers complete with handrails. The kitchen appliances consist of just a tiny stove and a refrigerator without an icemaker, a microwave or a dishwasher. Moreover, the carpets across the facility are worn out and stained. The whole building also carried an unpleasant, musty and moldy scent. Honestly, the building felt pretty old and really could use some major updates. It was quite a downer for me, and I can't even picture my family or myself ever living here. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place.

"Great care at Kennington Pointe – loved one is thriving!"
Our loved one is doing really well at Kennington Pointe. She’s eating well, and the staff is amazing. I visit on different days and times, and I always see the staff interacting with the residents in a positive and caring way. When I walk by on my way to her room, I hear happy voices from other residents talking with staff. The place is older and could use some updates, but it’s a real gem. The meals look and smell great, and the menu offers a lot of variety. The staff does a great job keeping me informed about her care. They always call me and keep me updated on how she’s doing. She’s safe, secure, and well taken care of. I would recommend this place, but I’d like to keep it a secret. It has everything I wanted for my loved one, and I feel completely at ease with my decision.
