"Clean, Friendly, and Affordable Assisted Living"
It looks really nice and clean. The staff is super helpful, and the neighbors are friendly. I can’t think of anything I don’t like. Plus, it’s reasonably priced!

"Mountain Brook Village: Clean, Friendly, and Worth It!"
I live at Mountain Brook Village Senior Living, and it’s been great so far. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly. They have good activities, and it’s worth the cost. I’d recommend it to family and friends. Note: It’s only for Independent Living, not Assisted Living.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Support Services"
This place used to help with meals and care, but not anymore. Now it's just a place for seniors to live independently. I might have to find somewhere else for my mom.

"Uncertain changes, but renovations and services continue"
Things are uncertain right now. The assisted living section is closing first, and the dining room services will stop. On the bright side, they are planning renovations for the rest of the complex. They still offer rides to medical appointments and grocery trips every other week. I'm curious to see how it all turns out.

"Helpful Staff, Needs Updates, Overall Recommendable"
The staff here has been really helpful. Whenever there's a problem, they are quick to fix it. The apartment itself is okay, but it could use some updates. Overall, I think it's a good place and I would suggest it to others.

"Limited Activities Amid COVID Concerns"
The office has been closed often due to COVID concerns. As a result, there are no current activities, and residents can only retrieve their mail for about an hour each day.

"Friendly and Caring Assisted Living"
This place is great for your loved one. The staff are friendly and caring, and they offer community outings and activities. During the tour, I couldn’t see much beyond the apartment due to the lockdown.”

"Affordable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartments with many activities"
We picked Mountainbrook Assisted Living because it was the only place with a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, which is what we needed. It was also cheaper than other places around here. We don't join in, but there are lots of activities. We would recommend it to others.

"Unkind Director Spoils Otherwise Great Assisted Living Facility"
Do not choose this place. When I first met the boss, he seemed kind, but he isn't really nice. While the place itself and the rest of the employees are great, the director is not. He even threatened to kick out my family member. I didn’t like how cold-hearted he was. I would advise against choosing this place.

"Untrustworthy Facility Mistreats Elderly, Engages In Scam Tactics"
This assisted living facility is nothing short of awful. They tried booting my father-in-law out just because he had cat fur on his black shirt — which was because he owns a white cat! Can you believe that instead of providing assistance (which is what this place is supposedly about), they publicly humiliated him? He had just voiced some legitimate concerns about kitchen hygiene, of all things. The kitchen itself leaves a lot to desire. The bosses, know-it-all types who don't bother following health and safety standards, just saunter in and eat out of the pots being used for residents' meals. Hairnet? Why sweat the small stuff! And don't get me started about the tank top-wearing owner and his too-close-for-comfort underarm hair hovering over the food meant for the elderly folks' meals. And they didn't stop at just the cat fur incident. They accused him of refusing to cooperate with the nurses for wound care. But when I contacted the nurse — who said she did visit him that day and he warmly welcomed her — and saw his freshly-bandaged wounds myself, I knew there was more to their baseless claims. The folks at the facility couldn't wait to bounce him out — so much so that they agreed to refund his deposit if all his belongings were cleared out by a specified date. They'd already thought of the next person to take the emptied room. But they couldn't let well enough alone, and after he shifted (with his deposit eventually returned), they swooped in with a collections agency for prematurely ending his lease! The security guard strolling about with a rifle — left unattended, no less — is an unwelcome sight. The ducks waddling about in the kitchen? Just another day. But what rings out loudest is the callousness toward the elderly — people who could easily have been their loved ones. The double-dealing doesn't stop: they threw my father-in-law out, replaced him, and now want to collect the full lease from him as well. The nerve! Here's a lonely, retired doctor who hasn't heaped debt upon himself, now worrying about being marked up for something they pressured him into. And the manager thinks this is all very amusing, adding insult to injury by abruptly ending our calls. Bottom line: don't even think of placing your dear ones here. What you see in the beginning is definitely not what you'll get in the end. They ignored the fact that my father-in-law is elderly and vulnerable, and all but forced him to vacate under duress. Now they want to make him pay, literally.
