"Mixed Experience at Southern Care Assisted Living"
My relative is adjusting. Cheapest option, but you get what you pay for. Staffing issues post-pandemic. Safety is ensured. Food's okay. Mixing dementia care with regular care is a concern. More staff needed. Medical team accessibility and doctor's bedside manner need improvement. Friendly staff. Planning to stay and observe changes.

"Southern Care: Neglectful and Unprepared for High-Need Residents"
Our experience with Southern Care felt like a nightmare. We thought being a non-corporate community would make it a great place for our loved one, but we were wrong. Our family member was coherent and active at first. However, in a short time, their mental condition worsened significantly. The place and the rooms aren't well-maintained. Staff members seemed unable to closely monitor residents or maintain order. They present themselves as an assisted living community. But as someone with healthcare experience, I can tell you that most of their residents need memory care. We don't fault the staff because we were informed it was an assisted living facility. Regardless, the level of care they provided was insufficient. Our loved one endured numerous falls, resulting in multiple injuries. Thankfully, the hospice team we brought in was wonderful throughout this tough time. There were no night nurses due to it being an assisted living facility. Once again, we don't blam the staff. They simply lack the capability to effectively care for residents who need substantial assistance.

"Affordable, Caring Assisted Living with Personalized Attention and Home Cooking"
My father in-law stayed at Southern Care for about 3 years. We liked how they took care of him. We had a bad experience with another place in Donelson, so we moved our mother to Southern Care. It's not the fanciest place, but it's clean and cozy. They know the patients' names and cook real food, not packaged stuff. Family members can eat with the residents for free. Most of the staff have been there for years, which is nice. When we visited, they remembered us from before. Mealtime can be crowded, but that happens everywhere. Overall, it's safe, caring, and doesn't cost too much.

"Caring Staff and Quality Service at Affordable Rates"
There's no place like your own home. My Mom stayed here for three and a half years until she passed away recently, and I can tell you she got really good care. The nurses and helpers were super nice and always did everything I asked. If anything changed with my Mom or she needed new medicine, the nurses would call me right away. The food was always fresh and made right there, and they'd give her something different to eat if she didn't like what was on the menu. When she passed away, all the workers felt sad with me. If you care more about how well your loved one is looked after rather than how fancy the place looks, this is a great choice. The place is clean, the food tastes good, the workers are friendly and caring, and the price each month is fair for all the help and care they give. What else could you ask for your family member?

"Cleanliness Issues at Southern Care Assisted Living"
Southern Care is a friendly place that serves good food to patients. But, there’s a cleanliness issue. The entrance door glass is always dirty, and housekeeping seems slack. Vacuuming is minimal. At night, they’re slow to answer patient calls. My husband, who has Parkinson’s, had to wait 45 minutes for help to the bathroom. His room is often a mess. It’s probably like other places.

"Decent Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff and Activities"
This place is pretty good overall. The staff is nice and takes care of my mom well. She’s happy with the food, and she’s even starting to join in on the activities they offer. We don’t really have any big problems with it and would tell others it’s a good choice.

"Awful Conditions: Neglected Residents Needing Lunch and Proper Care"
I barely spent a minute there. The initial impression was terrible and I had to leave. Folks were just sitting around in their wheelchairs in the main area, waiting for their food. They appeared unkept, with some even missing their false teeth. It's definitely not the place I'd trust to take good care of my family member.

"Dismal Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I truly didn't enjoy this place one bit. I'll never recommend it to anyone I know. The facility was just not up to the mark. Every corner was fenced off, making it hard for the people living there to move around. The rooms were below average and the residents had to share one bathroom that was located down the hallway. This place doesn't suit our needs at all.

"Terrible Assisted Living Facility Experience"
It was a really bad experience, and they shouldn't even be running a business. My father-in-law's safety was a big worry because they didn't get his meals right, give him his meds on time, properly bathe him, or take care of his apartment. We didn't even last a month there and had to move him out. The communication was awful. When we asked about our concerns, they just stayed silent. It cost so much, but it wasn't worth a single penny

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living with a Homey Atmosphere"
Our time at Southern Care has been really good. We visited many places nearby, but I appreciated the cozy and down-to-earth feeling here. They take great care of everyone, even those needing hospice care, and the cost is fair for the care they give. Overall, it's just a really nice place.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I liked how the place felt. When my family visited, a staff member gave us a tour. We thought it was nice, but we didn't like some of the rooms, so we kept looking.

"Private Toilet, Shared Shower a Minor Disappointment"
We took a look at this facility. The only part we weren't too keen on was the shower setup. You get your own toilet, but the shower is shared with someone else. There's a door from your private area to the shared shower space. It was just a little off-putting for us.
