"Not Enough Staff: Look Elsewhere"
Think about how many staff members they have. They should have enough to pay attention to the residents. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place because of problems with staffing and supervision.

"Poor Management and Training at Assisted Living"
The management here isn’t great—they’ve been dishonest with me and don’t listen to my worries. If they were my employees, I’d let them go. There’s this one person working nights who’s really mean to the folks living here. The staff doesn’t seem to know enough to help someone if they get sick. Even for little things, they just call an ambulance and rush people off to the hospital.

"Affordable and Safe Assisted Living in Johnson City"
My sister visited this place in Johnson City and really liked it. We needed a cheaper option because we're running low on money compared to another place. Courtyards also accepts Medicaid if we run out of funds. I think she's safe and well taken care of. I would tell other families to consider it too.

"Care Quality Concerns"
I almost gave The Courtyards at Knoxville top marks, but a couple of caregivers didn't have the right attitude. Also, I think the staff needs better training, especially for handling residents with dementia and Alzheimer's.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
This place had plenty of things to do, but they didn't let me see a room. Plus, I heard some not-so-good reviews.

"Friendly staff and good amenities"
This is a really nice place and it was our second choice. The staff members I met were friendly and knew a lot. This place has transportation and nurses on staff.

"Great Place for Dad"
I visited this place for my dad. It's super nice with friendly folks. The place looked neat and tidy, and the staff was helpful and nice. They answered all my questions, and overall, it was a good experience.

"Great Care and Clean Environment"
My mom seems to be doing well at this place. She's still getting used to it, but I know she's in good hands. It's a lovely community, everything is nice, clean, and well-kept. The aides are great and willing to work with me to find the best care plan for her. It's been a very positive experience, and I would recommend this community.

" Hasty Billing, Lackadaisical Care Characterize this Budget Assisted Living Facility"
I strongly recommend against entrusting your dearly loved family members to this place. My parents got sick simultaneously, and as a single parent working full time with my own kid to look after, I had no choice but to select this facility due to its affordability. Now I realize why other similar places are more expensive than this sorry place. They have fewer staff members and their licensed practical nurses are spread thin, sometimes with no nurse on site at all. The assistant staff are pretty much what you would expect, considering the neighborhood and low pay (think neck tattoos, bad teeth), but they're mostly friendly. The main issue came up when my mom passed away, and they sent me a bill including three days after her death when I hadn't cleared her things yet. No one told me I'd have to pay $92 per day if I didn’t clear her room immediately. By the time I got the bill, the rented hospital bed was already returned and all that was left in the room was some clothes in the closet. When I asked for some proof that they needed to rent the room during those three days I was denied, which makes me think there were no pending residents and they were just trying to squeeze out the last few bucks they could. It seems like they're more into making money than actually caring for their residents.

" "Inadequate Care and Unfair Billing Practices""
Don't send your family to this place, take it from me. Both of my parents got sick at once. Being an only kid with my own little one and a full-time job, I had to place them at this facility as it was all I could afford. Now I see why the other places cost twice as much as this dump. They have minimal staff, including nurses that are shared between the "houses" at night, so sometimes there's no nurse around. The rest of the staff is what you'd expect around here and for such low pay - they look rough, but they're nice enough. The real problem was when my mom died. They sent me a bill for the days between when she passed and when I cleared out her stuff. Nobody told me I'd have to pay for that. I don't think it’s right to hit someone with a $92 daily charge to clean out their dead relative's things right then and there. The only big items were her rent-a-hospital bed, already returned, and her clothes, which could’ve been packed up right quick if a new tenant had come along. But they wouldn't show me proof of turning anyone away 'cause the room wasn't all cleaned out. Chances are they don't have any. They're just looking to pocket any cash they can because all they care about is money, not taking care of your family.

"Avoid Inskip Road Facility: Negligent Care and Employee Misconduct Uncovered"
The Assisted Living facility on Inskip Road is downright terrible. The staff they employ simply don't seem to care about their work or the residents - they're always on their phones instead. The last director was let go for neglecting the residents, and the nurse assigned to distribute medication was fired from their previous job for mismanagement of drugs. My poor grandmother was placed here by my trusting grandfather, who was cruelly misled by this unscrupulous establishment. They trick you into believing they're providing quality care, but they're not attentive unless family members are present to oversee them. It's all an act: the minute you step out, they're back on their phones or heading off for a smoking break. I once arrived in the evening to find my grandmother locked in a closet, scared and crying. When I asked the staff about her whereabouts, I was lied to; I had to search room by room until I found her by following her cries. It was a horrifying experience. If you decide to leave your loved ones here you're risking their wellbeing and possibly their life — but sadly, some families prefer to ignore this reality. Residents often lash out verbally due to the harsh treatment they receive. I've reported these issues multiple times to no avail. The owner also keeps residents with severe Alzheimer’s who would be better served elsewhere, purely for financial gain. My advice to you is never to entrust your loved ones to this facility.

"Neglect and Deception: An Absolute Nightmare for Loved Ones"
The Courtyard Assisted Living on Inskip Road is simply terrible. They employ staff who don't care and spend their time on their phones instead of looking after those in their charge. The previous manager had to be fired due to negligence and the nurse responsible for distributing medication was dismissed from another facility for mishandling drugs. My grandma ended up here because my grandpa was misled by this dreadful facility. They deceive you into thinking they are taking good care of the residents. They don't supervise them properly. In the daytime, when visitors are present, they act like they care, but as soon as you're gone they revert back to their phones or sneak off for cigarette breaks. One evening, I found my grandma locked in a closet, on the floor, sobbing. The staff lied about her location, saying she was in bed. After searching through several rooms, I discovered her by following the sound of her cries. It was a traumatic and gruesome sight. Placing your loved ones here is akin to requesting a slow, neglectful end for them. Though some families may be fine with that, I'm sure most wouldn't dream of leaving their relatives here to wither. The residents even resort to scolding the staff due to their harsh treatment. I've registered complaints against this facility multiple times. They also take advantage of people with severe Alzheimer's who shouldn't be there, all to line their pockets with extra money. In conclusion: please don't subject your loved ones to this place.
