"Poor Communication and Negligence at Traditions of Smyrna"
My mom used to live at the Traditions of Smyrna and I hold them responsible for her poor health. They didn't inform anyone that the nurse assigned to my mom had left a month earlier. I even asked them to have the doctor check my mom for a urinary infection. I had no idea she was leaving. They never conducted the test, and ultimately, this was what my mom passed away from. They told me they couldn't look after my mom anymore and only gave me three weeks to find her a new place.

"Friendly staff, convenient location."
This place is near restaurants, businesses, and the hospital. Doctors are close too. It's a 20-minute drive to Murfreesboro, a friendly town.

Traditions of Smyrna is a great place—clean, friendly, and resident-focused. They're improving the food.

"Inadequate Medication and Care Led to Frequent ER Visits"
She had Parkinson's and they gave her medicine at mealtime instead of 30 minutes before. With Alzheimer's sundowners, she had 7 ER trips in 7 weeks. No balance and memory was a bad mix. She needed skilled nursing, not just mind care. She got discharged, thankfully into Hospice and skilled nursing. There were many issues with her care. She never had a fair shot.

"Care Declines, Items Vanish, Complaints Lead to Notice"
My sister and I looked hard for a great home for our mom. We thought Tradition’s would make her safe and happy. They said they could take care of her Ostomy needs. But after they got a new Director, two different Wellness directors, and lots of new techs, things went downhill. Mom often waited a long time for help, and nobody seemed to know how to change her bag right, or even care to learn. Then, stuff started to go missing from her room—like toilet paper, coffee pods, bottled water, and hair spray, just gone! And watch out, if you speak up about it, they’ll give you a 30-day notice to leave.

"Good facility, but proximity influenced our final choice."
Traditions of Smyrna, like all the other places we visited, could have been a good option for our loved one. It looked like a nice facility and offered similar care and services as the others. We ended up choosing a place closer to where we live.

"Nice staff, but not ready for needed care"
I don’t think the community was ready for the kind of care my loved one needed. The staff were very nice. My loved one fell a few times while staying here, but it wasn’t the community’s fault. I believe they did their best for my loved one.

"Traditions couldn't accept my loved one."
We toured Traditions of Smyrna, but chose another place. Familiarity helped.

"Not So Homey: Mixed Feelings at Traditions of Smyrna"
I visited Traditions of Smyrna, but it didn't feel cozy or friendly. Maybe we didn't see many residents or staff that day. Unlike other places where staff knew residents by name, we didn't get that vibe here. It could've been an off day or maybe they were napping during lunchtime. We chose a different community because of the surroundings. Unfortunately, there was construction happening, so the view from the window might not be relaxing for memory care patients.

"Good experience despite transitions recommended for loved ones"
We had a good experience overall. They’re going through some changes and faced a few problems, but it was still a rewarding and fulfilling place for our loved one. It’s a good spot and we would suggest it to others.

"Disastrous Experience at Assisted Facility: Unprofessional, Overpriced, Poor Communication"
I've been living through a nightmare due to this facility. Their director, whose name I've removed, is downright mean and unapproachable. She continually overlooks my emails concerning my mom's weight gain, demonstrating a lack of professionalism. The pricing is absurdly high - my mom spends a hefty amount to receive care here, but the staff treats me as though I'm unwanted. Another person, the wellness director, is in no position to supervise my mom's care. She's got an awful attitude, comes off as harsh, behaves unprofessionally, and yells at both me and my husband. Moreover, she closed her ears to my mom's son-in-law of more than two decades. She's unstable! This place has been hit with a major staff turnover. Communication is terrible here. Nobody ever gets the message. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Mixed Staff Quality"
I'd probably pass. Some staff are cool, some not so much.

"Great New Facility, But We Chose Family First"
This place is really nice. Since it’s new, everything is top-notch. It’s a good size and has nice amenities. In the end, we chose a place closer to family.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Security and Care"
Our family member went to this place believing they could take care of him and that it was a secure facility, but that wasn't true. He was able to wander out the doors. In less than a week, he got sick. We had to pick him up, give him a shower, and take him to the hospital because they couldn't. We had to move him to another place, and they wouldn't refund the money we paid for the month, even though he was only there for a week.
